Hi everyone, I've decided to make this thread as Discussion on the Boruto Franchise needs to be had regarding what is canon and what is not. Preferably before the Anime Get's to the Momoshiki arc.
So...Boruto has different versions for each iteration of the same Momoshiki arc and each version has Kishimoto involved to some capacity.
Now, that being the case, WTF is canon? Previously Kodachi connected the Anime to the Manga via his own statement and the Manga is starting to incorporate Anime characters, so there is that. I know Manga takes priority over adaptations, but this adaptation is incorporating elements Kishimoto's original script and we now know the level of involvement Kishi personally has with the anime.
Personally, I think canon should be:

- Boruto Movie (Written by Kishimoto and Kodachi)
- Boruto Manga (Written by Kodachi, Supervised by Kishimoto)
- Boruto Anime (Supervision by Kodachi, Kishi confirmed at Jump Fest 2017 that he works with the staff on the scripts)
- Boruto Novel (Written by Kodachi, supposedly based on Kishimoto's original script for the movie)

Personally, I think canon should be:
- Boruto Academy Arcs (Gaiden is an adaption thus the Manga takes priority)
- Arcs leading up to when the Manga starts being adapated.
- The Manga continuity takes priority over the anime.
