And so it begins. This is the start of my campaign to update, rank, and/or upgrade Bleach's intelligence sections as well as some of their abilities regarding skills.

This one involves two white haired geniuses: Gin and Toshiro. Now I'm not yet ranking Toshiro's section because there are a lot of missing references for what's already on his profile, so I'm holding off until either I find said references, or I get better feats to replace them.

Moving on, what I aim to do here is to update both Gin and Toshiro's swordsmanship by giving both Master Swordsman, as well as making a new updated intelligence section for Gin that includes new feats and also references to both his new and old feats, in addition to granting him Genius Intelligence as an ability.

The first problem: Why upgrade their swordsmanship? Because their swordsmanship as captains, geniuses among them as well, is somewhat downplayed. They are both Expert Swordsmen currently, when they have both shown feats and should also narratively be Master Swordsmen.

Gin's existing section:
(As the previous Captain of Squad 3[1] and a proven child prodigy[2], Gin's an extremely talented and experienced combatant, with either his swordsmanship or hand to hand abilities. With this level of skill being shown against other master swordsmen like Ichigo Kurosaki[3], or when while as a child we was capable of outskilling the likes of seated shinigami, people who have been training for decades on end perfecting their swordsmanship[2])
This already contradicts his rating since these feats are beyond an expert swordsman, notably, the second feat. This is a third seat who has decades, possibly centuries more experience than Gin, and he outskilled him, to a point where he was even calling him useless. In addition:
With this level of skill being shown against other master swordsmen like Ichigo Kurosaki
This implies that Gin is a master swordsman as well, which his profile does not reflect as he is only an expert. In said feat as well, he also somewhat pressured Ichigo, although he was also analyzing him.

There is also the matter of narrative, since the gap between a lieutenant and a captain is extremely high. This means he should be superior in skill to lieutenants who are master swordsmen such as Renji Abarai as well as third seats such as Ikkaku Madarame. Gin also fought an Ichigo who is far more experienced and skilled than Ichigo at the time of their fights due to his immense growth in battle and training, which has shown to increase his skill as well.

Now for Toshiro:

(As a captain of the Gotei 13, Toshiro is extremely skilled in the art of swordsmanship, having spent decades training the craft specifically, such skill allows Toshiro to fight on par with other similarly skilled opponents like Tier Harribel[2] or Gerard Valkyrie[3])
This completely disregards his prodigial capabilities and the aforementioned narrative. The fact he is the youngest captain should be noted in his skills since he was also stated by Shunsui, a master swordsman and a student of Yamamoto himself, that in 100 years Toshiro would surpass him. Toshiro is only at least 50 compared to Shunsui having over 2 millenia of experience above him.

Why does it matter?: Because of consistency. The fact that captains are far superior to lieutenants and therefore third seats means that they should without a doubt be superior in swordsmanship. This narratively makes sense, and feat wise also makes sense (in Gin's case mostly)

Second: Gin's intelligence.

Gin's intelligence section needs a rework, a BIG one. His current section is this:

Genius; highly manipulative and deceptive (In his battle with Hitsugaya, Gin was able to manipulate the positions of three people so Hitsugaya would have to choose between saving his own life or Hinamori's without any visible effort), capable of simple deception by having his opponent focus on one thing to hide the true threat
This section lacks a huge amount of feats, context, and references, making him seem more like above average than anything. Which is why it needs to be updated to contextualize some of these feats, and add some very important missing ones. This also should give him genius intelligence as well. When it's all said and done, It would look something like this:

Genius (One of Gin's most remarkable and dangerous assets is his magnificent intelligence, deception, and manipulative capabilities. He graduated from Shino Academy in only 1 year while being around the same age as Byakuya Kuchiki as a child, being placed as a seated officer afterwards. His ability of gathering and applying information is exceptional, learning the true workings of Aizen's Kyoka Suigetsu without being exposed to it, something no other member of the Soul Society has ever done, in addition to exploiting it for his master plan. His deception and manipulation are two of his greatest weapons, as he was able to deceive the Soul Society into believing that he fully sided with Aizen, allowing him to get into his inner circle without trouble, and even hid his Bankai's true ability even from Aizen himself by lying as well as being able of hiding its basic abilities through unecessary information and mass destruction. He is able to completely hide his emotion and killing intent from both Ichigo and Aizen, whom the former can read killing intent from his enemies, and the latter learn everything about a person just by seeing them. Gin used Ichigo's weakened mentality to his advantage and further attacked it to discourage him from fighting.)
Note: the last feat is from chapters 404 and 406

Shunsui's statement about Toshiro surpassing him seems to refer to power, not necessarily skill. That might be best not to use. Toshiro is still the youngest captain ever, still trades blows against enemies with centuries to millennia of experience.

Shunsui's dual wielding sword skill is also technically three skills mastered in one. To master dual wielding, you need to first master the one-handed sword, then you need to master wielding it in your other hand, then you need to master using both at once, which is harder than it sounds. In Shunsui's case we have the added factor of his swords transforming into scimitars forcing him to master two different forms of the sword, as well as how the two swords are different lengths forcing experience in both the longer and shorter length with both hands.

Well, it isn't always about power necessarily. Toshiro's potential is also noted by the fact that he has vastly less experience than others, hell, even Rukia's older. He still likely has yet to master Zanjutsu to the level of people like Byakuya and is especially far from Unohana's level, yet that statement basically means that in 100 years, he'd be somewhere at that level. Then again, I wasn't even gonna use that feat on his profile in the first place, the statement of captains>lieutenants was enough along with his status as the most prodigious captain. I was merely stating it as a backup point. Of anything, I should probably use the fact that he can go toe to toe with people larger and more experienced than him (which the former justification is the reason Tosen is a Master), in addition to his genius as a captain as well.
