Black Hole News

I didn't read everything but of what I can see, they're saying that Black Holes destroy information, which is nothing new actually.

A new black hole abilities

Excuse me my sentence should be in the past so: {I thought}

OK. Finished it and all the linked theories. So they run on a couple assumptions.

1. Determinism as understood by General Relativity is perfectly understood and accurate.

2. That the Cosmic Censorship Theory is correct.

3. That the Weak option of Cosmic Censorship Theory is correct.

4. The Black Hole's world past the Cauchy Horizon is non-deterministic, as understood by General Relativity.

5. Entering a non-deterministic world breaks casual chains and effectively destroys all past that would cause a certain future.

6. The mathematics behind this are not only perfectly accurate but perfectly applicable to the real world and its functions.

So a lot goes on here that branches into mathematics, physics, and even philosophy. Definitely an interesting read but I'm not quite sold.

This would only apply to true Black Holes I presume.
Yes.

Also since basically everything we currently accept about black holes is mathematical conjecture as is, I think this should be added. In the end scientists already question whether any of this is actually knowable (and it certainly isn't testable considering you can never test a black hole [even if we did have one less than 3000 light years away we still could never get information out since it eats everything beyond the event horizon]).

I don't think this should be added.

In general one should enjoy popular science articles carefully.

In many cases they present new, but not necessarily widely accepted, ideas.

To that comes a certain inprecision, like in this case the article doesn't quite make clear what "erases the past" is exactly supposed to mean.

I would keep it to the widely accepted basics unless a fiction specifies otherwise (the basics are also kinda tested. Well, I should say there are whole different levels of mathematical conjuncture.)

More specifically if this were to go through would this give any characters new abilities
