I mean, Berdly is kind of worse at everything in a straight fight. Doesn't have an AP advantage, and knowing the abilities of her mech doesn't grant him really any chances to do much about it.

His soul manipulation is not really all that great, it wouldn't let her kill any faster than just hacking at her body with his ax.

He needs to hit her soul about eight, nine times to actually kill her, which is not more than he'd need with straight blows, nor more than she herself needs to land.

I don't agree, her mech alone should be well enough to smash him up a lot before he could get to actually hitting her.
