Ben 10 General Discussion Thread

Thinking about it, doesn’t removing non-series content change up the scaling chain quite a bit? Unless I’m missing something, stuff like AF Vilgax and Ultimate Humungousaur being 10x stronger than their previous forms only comes from outside the show.

The Talpaedan’s High 6-A feat also is from a guidebook iirc, though that isn’t relevant right now.

I think WOG is being entirely removed, even the statements about canonicity. So MC duffie statement regarding eveeything outside the show being non canon turns useless too, so secondary canon can be used.

AF vilgax actually comes from the show as Gwen stated that he absorbed the 10 of superheros powers the 10X argument is based on him absorbing superheros actually idk about UH but that downgrade was for writer statements

I’m not sure if that’s what’s being accepted. I assumed everything like guidebooks, comics, etc are being removed too. Maybe I’ll ask for some clarification on that in a bit.

The exact statement isn’t from the show, it’s only mentioned that he absorbed 10 heroes’ powers but there’s a scan that clarifies it was 10x. We have no idea how strong the other heroes Vilgax absorbed were, especially when Ultimos was implied to be one of the strongest heroes Vilgax beat, so there’s no exact multiplier without that scan.

To be clear it shouldn’t be that big of a difference based on Ultimos being one of the strongest and the fact that an OS level Vilgax would’ve had to beat the first hero. It would just mean OS characters would vaguely downscale from AF instead of being exactly 10x weaker.

I still find it weird that a downgrade/removal CRT gets 4 votes within 3 hours, without even letting the supporters give their input. While addition and upgrade threads remain dead for months. It's either pre planned or some sort of bias, not sure but this kinda needs a rule on its own.

I definitely think it’s frustrating even if I have no strong opinions on this specific topic. As I mentioned in the thread, I had literally just woken up when I first replied to it 4 hours after its creation, and the thread already had a lot of mod votes by that point. If I had fully disagreed with the thread and wanted to argue against it, there would’ve been nothing I could’ve done.

That being said, I don’t think it’s just bias or anything that simple. There’s definitely something that attracts mods to downgrades, but that doesn’t always mean it’ll go through (there was an Alien X downgrade attempt a while back that was rejected in the end despite getting a lot of attention).

Writers statements made on their own without the battleboarding and leading questions just in supplemental material isn't even a target to this CRT so really stop derailing as that stuff isn't even targeted by the OP, besides if its valid supplementary material going by our new canon standards no one will gaf about you using it anyways

That's not what I meant, for example if you have lore information of CD and VA, you'd consider them for powerscaling purposes or maybe for additional knowledge.
Similarly, the guides/novel providing extra information about the show being disregarded from canonicity makes their existence useless.
 
Honestly yk, i think there is need for some clarification innour standards regarding to what extent WOGs are allowed and when we disallow a verse from having WOG at all.

I was talking about rather site wide as whole, what is accepted as WOG to what extent WOGs are applicable and when we decide to eliminate WOG entirely from the verse.

Oh yeah sure, someone needs to establish proper rules for author statements instead of targeting certain verses and leaving the others as per their bias.

Would the script from DwayneMCDuffie's site be usable? I mean the scripts (at least the ones I use) contain exact same transcript as the episode, with some additional information about context and realms.

I dom't think so. I was always against using his statements anyways since he has that non canon statement stuff.
