aka Half-Monster Garou vs Gouketsu

Psykos wanted to take in Garou as one of the top dogs in the monster association, but can he truly fit Gouketsu's shoes?

SBA applies, cept that the battle takes place in the super fight tournament arena (before it was destroyed by everyone and their mother).

Who wins and why?

Garou: 6

Gouketsu: 3

Inconclusive:

Even if Gouketsu is stronger Garou'll adapt and learn fast enough to overcome him. They're both master martial artist but Garou is far more skilled and the stats are unknown IG.

Garou mid-Diff.

If this is refering to manga garou then Gouketsu got this, he's above him in strength with more experience, and is also a world class fighter.

Orochi, metal bat started to get too strong and fast for his martial arts to compensate, watchdogman completely and utterly stomped, and even genos to be more than a match. The man who got oneshotted by Gouketsu.

Orochi has Reactive Evolution too and was clearly superior. This Garou has Fighting Spirit just like Metal Bat and Watchdogman fighting style aswell. When Genos faced Garou the latter was more dead than alive and even the A and B-rank heros were more than a match in that state.

What has Gouketsu to make him a comparable threat as Watchdogman, Metal Bat and Orochi? Nothing. He was clearly superior to Bakuzan and Suiryu but that's it. Half-Monster Garou has every single thing that gave problems before while Gouketsu's AP is mostly unknown.

As I said: even if Gouketsu is stronger this Garou has many advantages to give him the win.

Goeketsu one shotted Genos. Genos was beating Garou and didnt even think he was capable of taking on a dragon threat, let alone a high dragon like gouketsu.

Watchdogman only scales from Garou.

Garou also would have lost to Metal Bat had he landed a blow, but he was a complet novice in fighting skills.

Where as Gouketsu not only is stronger than Garou, but is also a martial artist as well with plenty more experience.

Genos fought Garou after getting upgrades post-Gouketsu IIRC. And this Garou is far better and stronger than the Garou Genos faced.

Then why did you brought to discussion at first place?

Metal Bat almost won because he took Garou out of surprise attempting to do a sneak attack when Garou turned back. He'd lost without a proper defense.

And Garou can mimic elder martial artists's fighting style just seeing them once. And the WSRSF is a counter fighting style perfect against aggresive opponents. Gouketsu was a Master Martial Artist but we know nothing about his fighting style and we can't assume that he's better and more skilled than Garou, the guy who can copy and develop his own fighting style mid-fight to overcome opponents stronger and faster than him.

Gouketsu isn't winning this. Only case would be if Garou can't adapt to him but that's impossible. A nearly featless character like Gouketsu it's used in the standard quality (obviously better than that considering the character's context and capabilities) while Garou has displayed enough feats to put him fairly above in the skill department. He won't win this easily but his insane stamina along with things like Reactive Evolution, Accelerated Development, Power Mimicry, Adaptation and Attack Reflection takes this with no extreme difficulty.

Garou can't perfectly replicate fighting styles at this point, that doesnt happen til the monster war fight.

Wdm with his superior stats stomped Garou.

The point in the metal bat fight was to show that he had the power to one shot Garou, but just couldnt hit him.

Gouketsu being above genos, and metal bad, and WDM is more than capable of dealing sever damage and his martial arts will help him toland blows on him, never said his skills were superior.

Well then tell me what makes you think Gouketsu has the same AP advantage than WDM or Metal Bat?

Don't forget that WDM stomped a pre-monster Garou.

If Metal Bat couldn't hit him then Gouketsu won't get much better chances.

Only if Gouketsu is at least 5x stronger than Garou he'll win. But we can't prove that with powerscaling alone because this Garou is far stronger than the Garou Genos's fought and has many more skills and options than before.

Even if he can't perfectly replicate them it's still an advantage that Gouketsu hasn't on top of the plenty other advantages Garou has.

But if you can prove with feats or statements that put Gouketsu above Half-Monster Garou with the AP difference he needs to one-shot then I'll give you the point. Other than that Garou'll survive and he'll adapt and beat Gouketsu.

Gouketsu is high, even for a dragon. He foddered Bakuzan. One shotted Genos.

Manga Garou isnt half monster Garou, i already said he'd lose to the Garou who darkshine fought.

One shotting Genos isn't special. Most enemies can fodderize him.

The best thing you can say is that he's above Sea King at best and scale from that.

And we aren't comparing this Garou to another Garou because it's obviously that he'll be stronger.

The point is that he's far superior and Gouketsu's only chance is being 5x stronger.

I'll wait but I'm thinking that Genos statement is vague to use it. We usually need more than that to prove it.

Genos stated he's on a whole different level

Again: Genos fought a human half-dead Garou after fighting Gouketsu. He wasn't at his peak. Genos only last in that fight cause Garou wasn't in perfect conditions.

And Genos isn't the best to measure the power of a monster. He's literally trash to most enemies.

So if Gouketsu can stomp Genos and Garou can fight half-dead, severely poisoned and exhausted against a better Genos and put a good fight you can't assume that a normal Garou wouldn't stomp Genos aswell. And that's Peak Human Garou.

"Current Genos should be above current Manga Garou"

Based on what?

A good basis would be that out of everything Genos faced, he considers Gouketsu way above Asura Rhino/Carbage Kabuto's Final Form. The same form that had an intense battle with Darkshine.

The same Darkshine who is superior to an S ranker Tanktop Master due to not taking hits from Monster Mode Garou, when Pre Monster Garou can oneshot Tanktop Master. And Tanktop Master can be compared to the power level of Genos.

@Quangotjokes Genos fought Garou with a clear advantage: Garou's state. He survived WDM fight with severe injuries and fought many heros while severely poisoned. He was nearly dying at that point when Genos suddenly appeared. A fully health Garou'd stomp or nearly stomp Genos.

@COB Is Darkshine vs Asura Kabuto a webcomic battle? When you're saying Monster Mode Garou do Awakened or something before that?

We can't be sure on Garou stomping Genos for sure. Even in webcomic they were quite close. And Genos was still unsure, and was decisively gonna end Garou at his very weakened state. The monsters just stlaled him.

@Calaca

It's from an audio book thing. It's canon and should be on Darkshine's profile actually.

I think this match should wait until we got further evidence on Garou and Gouketsu's power. The power scaling we're using is pretty much a mess and if that's true then Gouketsu one-shot with no problems.

Gouketsu likely isn't getting better scaling, unless Murata makes a random comment about him in a stream. Just argue with what we have currently.
