Attack on Titan Colossal Titan Feat

Following

For clarification, Dalesan is the one who proposed the use of 4 PSI after seeing the feat and looking into the surrounding context for it

Yeah so I'll elaborate on my contention of the PSI usage.

There isn't actually any evidence for 4 PSI, the bones break but that's not from the shockwave that's from the KE of the swing, hell, even 0.1 PSI is a highball, we don't actually see any damage or sand moving, it seems moreso like a visual feat, not a real one.

I agree.

It does not need to display destructive capacity, it still visually produces a shockwave that powerful. There is no such thing as a 'visual feat' when it comes to a shockwave.

I don't get what you're saying here?

"A shockwave that powerful"

- Doesn't move sand.

"It doesn't need to do the thing it needs to do in order to be 4psi" is essentially what you just said.

I agree so far with Vzearr and Huzy about the shockwave not being that strong, we even see how the shockwave passes through civilians without being harmed or even moved by it
Either calculating the small earthquake or the energy to knock off those bone chunks would make more sense tbh

Destructive Capacity and Attack Potency are two different things. Its the difference between throwing a punch that blow up a planet vs throwing a punch that can hurt a character with Planet level durability.

Shockwave feats they almost never display outright destructive capacity

Basically yes, it does not need to do that as it expands. Shockwaves get weaker as they travel, so the force displayed kilometers from the epicenter will be significantly weaker. All explosions work like this.

From what im seeing, Vzearr and Huzy do not understand how explosions work in the first place

I can calc the earthquake but i guarantee i will yield comparable if not higher results

You're using the full radius of the shockwave. The psi used is at the radius you put in the formula. It doesn't display 4psi at the edge. Therefore the calc is wrong.

Ironically you seem to have no clue how the formula works.

IMO the earthquake seems to be pure visual effects as well. The people aren't exactly displaying anything you'd expect in an earthquake such as falling over or stumbling even while the screen is shaking violently.

The quake didnt do any visible damage to the area but was felt by the people standing a .7215696280680001 km away, so its likely in the range of a 4-5 magnitude, 3 lowball.

[https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Earthquake_Calculations#How_is_it_done?_3 Radius is less than 60 km] so:

Richter Magnitude of Earthquake = (3) + 0.0238*.7215696280680001 = 3.01717335715

E = 10^(1.5*(Richter Magnitude)+4.8) = 10^(1.5*(3.01717335715)+4.8) = 2117190983.19 Joules, 0.506 Tons of TNT, '''Building level'''

Richter Magnitude of Earthquake = (4) + 0.0238*.7215696280680001 = 4.01717335715

E = 10^(1.5*(Richter Magnitude)+4.8) = 10^(1.5*(4.01717335715)+4.8) = 66951457484.4 Joules, 16 Tons of TNT, '''City Block level'''

Richter Magnitude of Earthquake = (5) + 0.0238*.7215696280680001 = 5.01717335715

E = 10^(1.5*(Richter Magnitude)+4.8) = 10^(1.5*(5.01717335715)+4.8) = 2.117191e+12 Joules, 506.02 Tons of TNT, '''Multi-City Block level+'''

...You have no idea what a 'visual effect' is do you?
It's a visual effect because the screen is shaking heavily while there aren't any visible effects on the characters on the fort. Therefore it's unlikely there was any physical earthquake of that magnitude. What else would a visual effect be?

Its not the screen shaking, there is a visible traveling shockwave that extends from the point of impact.

What's with this antagonistic tone.

We clearly know how shockwaves work, and this one is a visual effect. There is no damage, no people moving back, no sand moving, nothing at all.

Even that does literally nothing to the people on the fort who are completely exposed. You're saying they got hit by a supersonic wave (shockwaves by definition are supersonic) and didn't even stumble a bit or fall down?

Annoyance mostly.

You claim to know how shockwaves work and then contradict that claim in the same sentence. None of that needs to happen for it to be a shockwave. Its not just the screen shaking, it is a visible traveling blast wave extending out from the point of impact. Therefore it logically cannot be 'just a visual effect'.

A shockwave has to have some potency, to be able to create some energy, if this "shockwave" doesn't even have the potency to make some sand move or move some hair, are the chances of it being a shockwave high or low? You tell me.

High. Not every shockwave is strong enough to shatter buildings, we literally have an entire scale built around this fact.
So it's either the weakest shockwave of all time or not a shockwave. Could just be a gust of wind but then again I've experienced common wind storms that had more effects on people than this "shockwave".
The former most likely, because it visually is a shockwave. There is no denying this fact.

Then why are you arguing against your own scale? You should know how this works.
I know how it works, and your feat is going against my scale, nothing on here even indicates glass breaking levels, you need to prove it does.

The only thing going against your scale here is you my guy. It literally shattered part of Eren's Founding Titan spine.

I dont know if youre looking at the same feat but it visible disperses the cloud of steam around Eren

You're welcome to find an overpressure value which is so weak that it doesn't do anything. I don't think any value on the scale on the site is applicable at the full 722 meters.

literally shattered part of Eren's Founding Titan spine.
Even if that was from the shockwave, that happened at the epicenter. Not at 720 meters. You can't put 4psi while still having the radius at 722 meters in the formula.

You can, that is how overpressure calcs work.
