Asta slaps both but like Tanjirou out skills Deku and has precog, only thing Deku has over him is AP and Dura. In terms of characters I only really know and care for Deku and Tanjirou.

I already agreed that Asta is strongest. In terms of character it's pretty subjective and I never said one was better.
