I mean I appreciate Non-elemental you brought up some good points that if we consider hacking the game canon that can be problematic. Through just as a guess here Ik Chara does a similar feat after a Genocide run they destroy the game and would you consider that to be outside of the game as well? Or since the player can revive the world through giving Chara their soul would this count as canon? Because Ik in Chara's case you can manipulate files as well.

Chara is counted because he do it himself not by us outside of the game. He destroyed the game and that's a fact and canon within the story he indeed can do that and we saw it, its the same case as Monika from DDLC, we never took part on it, the character itself hacking the game not us. But AD can't be counted because we, irl peoples are the one who must do it and it's basically normal hacking not within the context of story.

And about Chara getting your soul, let me remind you that this is not us in real life Chara never took your soul in real life as such is not this. Chara took your soul as if Player/Anomaly's soul (a game character) not literally us so it's still within the game, if AD represent Toby Fox then Player/Anomaly represent us. That's why it has nothing to do with our real life.
