Anime vs Manga feats

Let's say there is a feat that can only be calculated a single way in the manga, but in the anime it is portrayed in such a way that you can calc it the same way as the manga version or a separate manner. Let's call the two calcs for the feat, method 1 and method 2. Manga's version of the feat only has method 1, anime's version has method 1 and method 2. Is method 2 just as valid as method 1, or is method 1 inherently superior to method 2, and why?

Can you give a specific example?
Let's say a meteor strikes the surface in the manga, but we only see the crater, but in the anime it shows us the meteor traveling a certain distance in a certain time and then shows the crater. So, the manga only gives us the crater to base our calc on but the anime gives us a distance and time (velocity for KE) and the crater to base our calc on. Is using KE thanks to the anime equally valid? Or would we strictly stick to the manga portrayal only?

Hmmmmm, considering the crater is the end result of the meteor's destruction, I would say that would be the better calc to use

Yeah ofc I’m aware there’s a lot of variability case by case, I just wanted to get like a broad basis guess to see if proposing certain jazz is even worth it 👌
