Sonic has more abilities Mario doesn’t resist like fire ironically and time manip. Mario has Fate manip and telekinesis but that’ll only be so useful on Sonic with his advantages including flight. And funny enough, Sonic has the perfect counter to Devil Mario. Soul Manipulation. Mario’s body is being controlled by Boos, so if Sonic tries attacking his soul, he could end up running the ghosts out of Mario’s body and return him to normal.
