We have never done this before. So why not try it now?

The idea?

How about in the 31st of October someone here streams a movie using some kind of service?

It can be any kind of movie, it has to be Halloween oriented to a degree (Either being horror, or something else)

We can vote for a movie using a straw poll. Then during Halloween, someone picks up the movie and streams it to the audience.

Rules:

  • You have to behave like you would on this site, if you misbehave there, you should be punished here
  • The movie must not contain nudity because of FANDOM's rules

Some of the world has far harsher anti piracy laws than somewhere like the USA, this would probably get users there into trouble.

Well, how about we reduce it to stuff like Night of the Living Dead? The movie has no copyright because they forgot to add it

P.D: My country has close to no copyright laws if you ask btw, piracy is rampant.

Ik that some Asian countries are ridiculous about this sort of thing, to the extent of lengthy jail sentences. Probably best to not do anything that's not entirely legal and have it affiliated with the site.

So, we will be limited to that stuff, public domain movies or works.

I think that this would likely get our wiki into serious trouble with the Fandom staff, on top of the issues that Wokistan mentioned. My apologies.

Even with public domain works or is something else like legal age/ratings?

That illegal movie stuff even real? I'd use "illegal" websites to watch anything, even at school and no one cared lol. If something is easy to access, that's legal in my eyes

Well, this is not a moral statement, just a precaution that we cannot host such events in a Fandom wiki. They would ban everybody involved.

Well, they tend to ban people for nonsense reasons, but this would technically be illegal, so they would be more justified in this case.

I'm American so I wouldn't really get in much trouble but due to it being technically illegal fandom wouldn't like that, especially if it's operating out of their site. Then you've got our users in countries where you can spend years in jail for that sort of thing, and it's just best to not risk it.
