Alternate Battles #1: General Grievous vs. Savage Opress

This is a fight I always wanted to see in TCW but it never happened. Especially after Dooku and Grievous had that short meeting about Savage and Grievous didn't even consider him a threat. Let's see if he still thinks that while facing him 1 on 1.

Let's say instead of Sidious going to Mandalore to deal with Savage and Maul, he sends Grievous in instead. As the Droid army battles Maul's Death Watch across Mandalore, Grievous goes and confronts Maul and Savage in the Throne Room. Savage says he will dispose of Grievous and Maul steps aside to observe his apprentice. They both ignite their lightsabers and prepare for battle.

Since 2003 CW GG isn't being used here, Savage low-mid diffs Grievous, he doesn't have as great of feats as Savage had

There is actually a very good explanation for this on Comicvine that says everything i would say but better sooooo shameless argument is stealing is shameless ovo:

"TCW Grievous loses after a truly decent battle. That iteration of Grievous was having a hard time with Adi Gallia twice and never defeated her, whereas Savage... Well. Still, it's not any insanely precise measurement, since there is a huge difference between them. Both are enormously powerful physically, but Grievous' style is centered around multiple traits - he isn't a "power duelist", he utilizes equally enormous speed, multitasking, adaptation, unpredictability, while Savage, although not lacking in any of these sheer "statistics" themselves, is primarily focused on capitalizing on his brawn. Gallia was stated to be specifically outmatched by the sole strength which is Savage's focus in dueling, not outskilled. I think these three are slightly similar to Obi-Wan/Anakin/Dooku threesome in how their styles respond to each other. Either way, it's pretty obvious that these two are very close.

Savage, however, has the Force on his side. He is not only extremely powerful, but, while perhaps not as refined in its combat-usage like Maul, Kenobi, Dooku, etc., he is keen in utilizing the Force in combat, and his great raw power behind even the simplest combative attacks will certainly provide him some leverage, especially in a definitely intense melee battle. Either way, it won't be easy, and Grievous isn't the one to lay prone on the ground after being hit there and there. Any Force-obtained leverage will not assure Savage's win, and in some cases, I see Grievous bouncing off, preparing surprise-attacks with one of his weapons, etc. So while Savage should win, it will be in an extremely close contest, since Savage's strength advantage is kinda negated. Neither of them can drain the other's stamina via physical suppression, they're both too strong physically."

Grievous is still inferior to Dooku, who was sent hitting the wall twice by Savage (disarmed the first time). And Savage's strong with the Force so...

Savage also said Dooku was too powerful for him that very same fight and had help from Ventruss. Plus, Savage and Maul combined were forced to flee by Obi-wan and Kenobi would later be KO'd by Doomu during their final fight pretty easily.

I have decided to maybe make this a mini-series of alternate Star Wars battles. Probably gonna use more pre-battle story/dialogue in the future.

Here's the link to the next one if anybody's interested: Anakin vs. Mace

How does Savage counter 4 lightsaber helicopter arms? Plus, in the cartoon, Grievous has dodged force blasts.

If by cartoon you mean the 2003 series Grievous then this is not that one.
