Aldebaran vs Sasaki Kojirou (Re Zero vs Record of Ragnarök)

Why Sasaki have Genius Inteligence in the Abilities, but Is Gifted in Inteligence.

Domain Expansion gives a coinflip to Al at the very start, and even if he loses that he can turn a one-in-a-trillion chance at winning into reality. What's Sasaki's move?

First move is to request that his opponent grant him the honor of seeing their technique. Given his opponent is evidently a swordsman, he would do the same here. He would use that time to analyze his opponent and initiate Thousand Image Defense, which immediately starts by analyzing at least 18 different possible moves, without having actually fought yet.

Isn't the 18 moves pre-enlightenment?

He can probably predict more than 18 moves at the start of a fight now, yes, but we wouldn't know how many steps ahead he can read since he hasn't officially fought since his match with Poseidon.

Well according to the profile we'll assume strongest versions and since FTL is in his speed section and his AP (not talking about attack potency, I'm talking his analytical prediction) is tied on how we rate his speed he'll be assumed to have it.

I have absolutely 0 idea why you bring this up or what bearing it has on the result of the match, but okay.

Uh huh.

Anyways, I don't know much about how this guys powers work other than that it let's him retry fights. I don't see how this would help against Kojiro whose always one step ahead— knowing what he'll do doesn't really matter since he'd just continuously move in new ways in accordance with his opponent's new strategies.

Questionable whether Al should/will be 7-A.

But the amount of bs that Al's authority lets him get away with, has gotten to the point where some people are even seriously suggesting his looping will let him handle Reinhard of all people...

This is gonna somehow turn into another skill slop, as Al was able to beat Garfiel despite his shounen protag power ups like getting stronger and more skilled in battle.

Al's Authority lets him set a space where time loops upon his death yes. It lets him pull of things that shouldn't be possible even in a pre-arranged match.

This lets him completely thrash people stronger faster, and more skilled than him without even taking a hit.
Garfiel is stronger:
The backfist of the roaring Garfiel was narrowly dodged by his opponent, who had crouched just in time. The power of the strike was reduced to him merely grazing the enemy with the underside of his little finger, causing Garfiel to grit his teeth.

He kept missing. No matter how many punches he threw, he could not land a clean hit with a single one.

As for his opponent――,

Aldebaran: [Dona.]

A brief incantation, and the sensation of magic interfering with the world, made Garfiel’s hair stand on end as his body leaned forward.

In the subsequent moment, a block of stone that had appeared airborne struck Garfiel’s face with a noticeable impact, as if to meet the angle at which he had tilted his head.

A pained groan escaped his mouth, and his lip was split. In terms of power, it was a weak blow. For Garfiel, who had fought against high-class warriors in the Empire, who had even clashed with a Dragon, it was far from enough to incapacitate him, let alone cause a significant injury.

However, he did not believe that this was the result of his opponent holding back.

Aldebaran: [Huff, huff…]

Breathing heavily, Al, who had cast the spell that had struck Garfiel’s face, remained on-guard without a hint of relaxation.

His apparent exhaustion was not a ruse to induce Garfiel’s carelessness; he was genuinely out of breath. It was only a matter of course. According to Garfiel’s assessment, the difference in ability between them was so significant that Al would be incapacitated by even a single powerful blow.

Perhaps, it would not even require a powerful blow.

If even one of Garfiel’s barrage of punches were to land, it would terminate the fight. In the span of a single breath, he could unleash dozens of such finishing blows.

Needless to say, facing such a situation would drain both one’s mental and physical strength.

Even though that ought to go without saying――,

Garfiel: [It just, won’t hit… Hk!]

Bewildered, Garfiel was unable to make heads or tails of what was occurring to him.

Al’s movements and counterattacks revealed a significant gap in skill when compared to Garfiel. This was not a matter of arrogance, but rather because, as a warrior, Garfiel was far superior to Al.

And yet, attacks that should have landed, and evasions that should have been successful, were failing completely.

Garfiel’s attacks continued to miss, while Al’s attacks continued to land.

While they lacked the power necessary to critically injure Garfiel, the bothersome attacks were sufficient to halt his movement and to prevent follow-up strikes――,

Al deals with Garfiel (Garfiel pov):
Hearing Ezzo’s voice warning of danger, Garfiel felt something closing in straight towards his nose―― he opened his mouth wide and caught it with his fangs.

A full-force punch aimed to crush Garfiel’s face right after he had been blinded, meant to bait him in. But that was not enough to break Garfiel’s resolve to do whatever it took.

Garfiel: [I’ll fhix if lay’r, dhumbassh!]

With the sensation of his fangs sinking into the fist and stopping it, Garfiel tightened his jaw, promising to heal Al after stripping him of his ability to do battle.

It was a cold-blooded decision, but Al was one-armed. He fought with only his right arm, and were he to be robbed of the function of his one remaining arm, he would no longer be able to fight. So, Garfiel intended to rip it apart from the wrist to the elbow――,

Garfiel: [――Ah?]

As he increased his bite force, he realized something.

The fist Garfiel caught in his bite was shaped like Al’s left hand, which he should not have.

Garfiel: [――Bwaagh!?]

In the next instant, Al’s fist in Garfiel’s mouth swelled up violently, shattering his jawbone under the pressure and sending shards of his upper and lower canines flying through the air.

Furthermore, the fingers that had extended into his mouth jabbed deep into Garfiel’s throat, triggering an unbearable gag reflex―a response triggered when fingers are thrust down one’s throat, and paralyzing him. ――Then, a calculated, hard, and heavy blow struck Garfiel’s jaw diagonally.

Garfiel: [Kah… Kh!]

Blinded and thrown into blackness, Garfiel felt the sensation of his whole world flipping upside down. Having been struck on the jaw, his brain rattled, and his sense of balance vanished, making it impossible to stay on his feet as his knees buckled.

Being utterly overwhelmed so one-sidedly, Garfiel belatedly realized something.

Ezzo’s desperate cry had been a deliberate warning, anticipating that if Garfiel were to take Al’s attack head-on, this would be the result.

In other words, this all had been as per Al’s bait――.

Aldebaran: [Remember when I said recklessness’s the toughest thing to deal with? I lied. Those who don’t think ain’t a threat to me.]

Al deals with Garfiel (Ezzo pov):
Subsequently, catching sight of the attack that followed that blinding, Ezzo had screamed.

Al had employed magic to reconstruct his missing arm out of earth, and had thrown a punch with it.

Garfiel had opened his mouth wide, attempting to bite down upon the arm of earth, but that would only end poorly. Ezzo’s grim premonition proved true, for the earthen arm violently exploded within Garfiel’s mouth.

Garfiel: [――BWAAGHHK!?]

The expanding arm destroyed the inside of Garfiel’s mouth, and a spray of fangs and blood followed.

To add to that, having encased his right hand in a gauntlet of stone, Al delivered a powerful sideways punch to the jaw of the stupefied Garfiel.

Garfiel collapsed to his knees. ――His successive movements were efficient, extremely so.

Ezzo: [Something of this sort should not be possible, even in pre-arranged sparring…!]

As Al brilliantly halted Garfiel’s advance with a barrage of blows, with strikes that would have been impossible to execute even if the sequence had been part of a martial arts demonstration, Ezzo’s vigilance continued to rise to its zenith.

Before I even get into skill slop or whatever *****, is it possible that Kojiro can just leave the domain?

Before I even get into skill slop or whatever *****, is it possible that Kojiro can just leave the domain?
If he turned around and ran he may be able to? The Domain is like MAXIMUM a hundred metres.

But anyway Al has no skillslop. He sucks, he's just a cheater that brute-forces solutions at the cost of putting his mind to the grindstone.

Cool.

Based on my understanding, Al's ability to annihilate people far beyond his standing is based on his knowing of their every move through his loops. But as I said, this should be countered by Kojiro's every move constantly developing in accordance with Al's strategies, so if he loops back expecting Kojiro to do one thing and acts accordingly, Kojiro's strategy will simply shift in tandem, forcing another loop.

The initial coinflip where it's possible Kojiro is the one who remembers loops still exists and is basically an immediate gg.

If Kojiro would play reactionary every time, can he really account for everything? Al has as many attempts as he needs, and a very high number of tricks he can abuse, particularly his creative earth magic.

In terms of physical combat, I would say it's no exaggeration that he can basically account for literally everything. In terms of manipulating the environment, that can definitely trip him up initially, but given his ability to scan his environment as well, he would eventually be able to respond to that as well. Keyword "eventually", since if Al starts throwing chunks of earth at him, yeah, he's not gonna respond flawlessly off rip.

This match is basically a race to move last I feel. Kojiro cuts off Al's head pretty easily, Al resets and barely blocks it, Kojiro reads through it and opens his belly, Al resets and uses earth armour, this song and dance continues.

I am voting Al because:
1. If he wins the 50/50 and gets the subjugator role, then its an automatic win for him
2. if he loses the 50/50 and gets the victim role, then its either an incon or a victory for him (Al has defeated pretty skilled opponents who could deal with every scenario using their Anal precog as well. )

I can almost guarantee you that Kojiro's precog is better than whoever that is.

Anyways, count me for incon.

1. If he wins the 50/50 and gets the subjugator role, then its an automatic win for him
Do you do that on purpose? Like, you say the name of a ability, and don't explain what It does, as If everyone knows what Aldebaran being the subjugator means. You did that other times too.

Well, basically:
If Al is the "Aggressor" (加害者, Kagaisha), his opponent will remember the previous loops while he will not. His opponent is then trapped in a never-ending loop of trying to kill Al, and then going insane.
We don't exactly know what is the condintion for him to activate, but

Would the subjugator role actually be that effective against Kojirou tho?

Kojirou has no issue fighting the same opponent over, and over, and over. He's specifically used his ability to simulate a fight to the death against one of his greatest rivals tens of thousands of times, just because he enjoyed doing so.

But does he have the willpower to fight the same opponent an infinite amount of times?

It would certainly give him enough willpower to last long enough to think of countermeasures, if there are any. Since he'd have effectively tens of thousands of chances to think of something before you could even argue his willpower would wane.

Does the loop activate whenever he's killed? or simply incapacitated?

Aldebaran would off himself if he ever got incapacitated in anyway, the loop should only activate once he dies though
Also another character with supernatural willpower. Louis Arneb, got mind broken from just a couple of Subaru's loops numbering 20 leaving her permanently losing the ability to speak
What are his best feats of Supernatural willpower? Depending on it he would be broken much faster than thousands of deaths
???: “So. Did you get to see what you wanted to see. ーーLouis Arneb.”

Louis: “Huh?”

Upon the sudden accost, Louis, who had gained awakening of her consciousness, rounded her eyes.
Blinking a few times, she made certain of her location. White environs, white ground and white skies, standing within the world blanketed white, Louis had been making a stupefied expression.

Louis: “ーーーー”

Having her hand touch her face, making contact, she made certain of the sensation.
Since there was no mirror in this place she could not take a look, but this sensation was irrefutably her own face. With there not being even any moderate amusements in this place, speaking of things touchable, only her own face, own body counted as one.
That is why, she had touched her face to an extent one would grow sick of touching it. That is why, upon touching her face she had grown sick of touching, she could immediately know in what state her face, her body was.
Just as before. Yes, just as before. ーーThis was, Louis’ own body.

???: “Did you get to see what you wanted to see, huh?”

Slowly, stupefied, making certain of herself was Louis.
With that behaviour reaching a point where it could pause, abruptly, the accost now overlapped once again. Lifting her face, Louis looked at the personage who had been standing before her, in front of her eyes all along.

Rather short black hair and stabbing sanpaku eyes, with legs the same length as his body, wearing a shabby appearance was the juvenile.
His name, Natsuki Subaru. The existence Louis herself had become one with as a Witch Factor, andーー,

Louis: “ーーAh.”

ーーAnd, the being of unimaginable insanity, wielding the Authority which had the ability to『Return by Death』.

Louis: “No, NOOOOOooooooOOOOOooOOoOOooooーー ~tsu!!”

Louis opened her mouth, and roared.
As long as the strength remained, as long as the possibility remained, with complete devotion she roared.
Should she have not done that, she would get crushed by the pressure. By the terror, by the menace, by the despair.

She would get snared in the insanity of a lunatic, who repeated and resumed continuing『Death』time after time.

Louis: “Don’t want to die! We, don’t want to die! Hate it, hate it hate it hate it hate it, hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it hate it! Hate it! Hate i~t ~tsu!!”

Swinging her head, collapsing onto the bare ground, Louis frantically appealed while drawing back.
Assimilating with that existence, Louis had personally experienced『Death』. She had tasted it. By being taken in by the『Soul』who practiced『Return by Death』by her own volition, she had experienced『Return by Death』first-hand, which turned back even time.

The memories of『Death』that had been incomplete as merely Natsuki Subaru’s『Memories』.
After all, memories were naught but memories. The sensational impact of never returning again upon letting go even once of that instant, of that juncture, of that moment, could never be obtained.
That had been, why she thirsted for that. She had thirsted, for what flavour『Death』had.

Even if『Death』had been something less vivid than what Louis had expected, using the Authority that goes by the name of『Return by Death』, she could gain sufficient change with the right to walk a life in which redoing was a possibility.
That, is what she believed. ーーUntil she herself, tasted『Death』that is.

Louis: “Something like that…… something like that, can never be withstood! That anguish! Sense of loss! No way can it be withstood! Impossible! Impossible impossible! Absolutely impossible! Hate i~t!”

Not even once, had she possessed a way to die comfortably.
Not even once, had she felt『Death』to be luscious.
Not even once, had she wished to die on her own volition.

Natsuki Subaru had tasted that greater than twenty times, and had replayed that.

Louis: “Someone who can withstand that, is not human! Monster! A monste~r ~tsu!”

She could not. No way she could.
Louis had indulged in a great number of lives, affronted all kinds of『Souls』, and had searched a life of her own.
She believed she had possessed the right, the privilege, to do so.
That is why, she stretched her hands even into the『Soul』of Natsuki Subaruーー the consequence, she got her naive ■ shattered.
Becauseーー,

Louis: “ーーThe human heart, cannot withstand something like itself dyi~ng ~tsu!!”

Want to become, happy.
Want to become happy. Want to become happy. Want to become happy. Want to become happy.
Want to become happy. Want to become happy. Want to become happy. Wantedーー to become happy.

Wanted to become, happy.

That was, the wish Louis Arneb had envisaged all along, for the whole time.
Trampling upon all aspects of everything, she possessed the right to exercise her power for the purpose of acquiring the greatest life. Louis had remained, believing so without any pangs of conscience whatsoever, until today.
That, that, that, that premise, crumbled.

Wanted to become, happy. However, right now, the wish right now, was different.

Louis: “Don’t want to die.”

Don’t want to die.

Don’t want to die. Don’t want to die. Don’t want to die.

Don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to die don’t want to dieーー.

Subaru: “That is why, when you were trying to eat me, I told you.”

Her arms hugging her head, cowering, shaking her head in fear, desperately trying to protect herself was Louis.
In close proximity to that Louis, immediately above Louis, who did not raise her face, onward came a voice descending.
She did not want to listen to even that. Listening was terrifying. However, something which may befall upon her due to not listening was terrifying. ーーDying was frightening.

That is why, she had no choice but to listen.
And, whilst looking down upon Louis curling herself in fear, the voice continued.
It’s preface, saying you had been warnedーー,

Subaru: “That you’ll, definitely regret it.”

If Kojiro's death or incapacitation becomes a requirement for a loop to start, then that's really just good for him, because there's really no way for this guy to kill him without looping lol.

not kojiro's death, but Aldebaran's
If Kojiro dies its over.

So is it just he remembers the loops, but his death isn't necessary to trigger them?

So is it just he remembers the loops, but his death isn't necessary to trigger them?
its an infinite loop of the opponent trying to kill Al, succeeding but the world reverting to a point where Al has not died and then starting over till his opponent breaks down from insanity

I..literally did
the loop goes->Sasaki kills Al, the world resets, then he kills Al again and over and over
Kojiro doesnt need to die but if he does die in one of the loops then the looping would end. Same if he goes insane.

I just checked and Sasaki doesnt even have supernatural willpower, he is cooked if Al gets subjugator LOL

My question was if he remembers the loops if he gets the role thing, you mong.
