While at school, this particular thought popped into my head and thought it was worth making a thread about as I honestly want to know more on this.
When we make a match here and the characters are "in-character", why is it the first assumption that one or both of them will try speed blitzing the other person? Isnt it just as possible that making the first move and charging toward your opponent is out of character for someone? To speak more hypothetically:
A character with infinite speed vs a character with just MFTL+ speed. The former is obviously faster than the latter in every way. But the thing is, its not in character for the former to try outspeeding the opponent or attack them first but allow the latter to make the first move and wait until they have striked. Therefore, the match doesnt start out immediately with speed stomping because despite the speed dfference, the former is allowing the latter to do something.
To give more specific examples, lets use Frieza from Dragon Ball. In-character wise, Frieza tends to allow the opponent to make their first or use their strategies first before he himself attacks due to cockyness and tending to go easy on weaker opponents. So if hes facing someone in chararacter who has far lower speed, but far more and better hax, then how is it an immediate stomp?
Id like more clarification on this if possible. Its not a major issue to fix up but its definitely something that should be discussed.
