I've came across a rather important piece of information that might concern the Wiki.
Anyone who was read JoJo, knows that The Ripple (aka Hamon) can only be used through their arms and legs (which is why we've never got to see the Hamon version of Space Ripper Stingy Eyes) and that the rest of the body is kind of vulnerable (not really that much of a weaknesses for them).
Chapter 20: "The Tragedy at Sea", page 12:

Zepelli, who was studied Hamon and the Stone Mask for decades came to the conclusion that the energies of both The Ripple and The Stone Mask are essentially "back" and "front", the same energy, but reverse, which is why one cancels the other. The difference is that Vampires cannot harness it at will like Humans can. With Hamon and Vampiric Energy (let's call it that) are the same thing in essence, then they have the same weaknessess, both can only be harnessed through the arms and legs (Vampires can shoot high pressure liquids from their eyes at awesome speeds, why is unknown).
When you think about it, it makes sense. Dio's freezing abilitie required for him to touch his opponent for it to work, and Hamon requires punches and kicks to be transferred to another body/object, otherwise Part 1 and 2 would become Dragon Ball.
The Pillar Men are different, they are above Vampires in any way, shape, or form. They are simply a more evolved life form than Humans. It takes a lot of effort to even damage one of them, it was tought that nothing short of Hamon or heavy artillery could do them in, showcased by the German Army when they gave Stroheim bullets that can pierce through 30mm of steel, clearly not your average handgun bullet.
Part 1 and 2 never felt that really strong for me, they're not to be underestimated, but people need to understand that the author's writting back then wasn't all that good, he said it himself. It started to get more consistent as his drawings improved, which is why we don't see things like the DIO plothole anymore.
