In a book I read, there was a Beast named Arax. This Beast would pierce people's hearts with its whip, causing a piece of their soul to spill out in the form of a blue cloud, and then absorb them.
When this demon was struck by his own whip, all the souls he had stolen were set free and returned to their owners miles away. I wonder if this would give people a little resistance to soul hax or something, and since I was not sure about that, I decided to ask it here.
Now, normally when Beasts die, all the spells they cast are broken. But, on the other hand, it was left unclear whether he really died or not and whether he would come back later. Plus, when a similar soul-stealer named Viktor died in a later book, his victims were not restored and had to rely on a grumpy deer to recover.
So could you tell me if people in this setting could get Resistance to Soul Banishment, since their magically removed/sealed souls would return to their owners the moment they were free?
