That spider was an eldrich horror most likely older than Melkor himself.

The point remains that Melkor can be killed, and not immortal.
However, it is much better in this case as Neloth, having years of experience with Oblivion, use BFR to send Melkor to Oblivion. The worse Masters will finish the jobs for him.
