28 Days Later: Street level upgrade

Some fixes for the 28 Days Later Infected by adding feats and calculations to the profiles, most notably upgrading them to Street level/Street level+

Infected feats

• Destroying wooden windows on multiple occasions
• Can shatter wooden glass doors
• Can punch through car windshields / door glass
• Infected can punch through wooden walls: 397 joules
• Both small groups, and individual infected can slam double doors off their hinges: At least 7343 joules
• Breaking open a barricaded locked door: At least 191 to 495 joules
• Two infected snap a human neck: At least 303 joules (Instant death)
• Groups of infected heavily deform metal doors on separate occasions
• Individual infected breaking multiple wooden planks

Human feats

• Survivors stomping furniture to pieces
• Selene throws infected through wooden windows
• Selene destroys a door's lock: 191 to 495 joules
• Selene is capable of breaking a man's arm with a car door slam: At least 375 joules

The Infected's intelligence is also getting downgraded to High Animalistic due to intelligence page's decriptions

High Animalistic: Highly intelligent animals that can use tools or have comparable problem-solving feats. For example, dolphins, chimpanzees, and certain crows and octopi.

No that was straight up a wood wall, forcing open a door is athlete to street level and it was with several heavy objects blocking the door shut, and normal humans can reach up to street level+ general durability

This is clearly a window they broke through

Breaking through a door's lock is street level, not just pushing barricades. It takes a very peaked human to net street level stats.

No it was quite clearly a wall, you can even still see the infected's hand through the hole. Just slamming a door open requires that energy, not including the several filing cabinets pinning the door shut. Not really, people can generate Street level energy just by jogging and people have survived building height drops

That's a very small hole, not sure it even reaches 9-C. The door's kinetic energy might be street level, but there is no way that scales to people who slam doors all the time. I am also fairly sure we stopped using animal running KE a while ago.

The hole is larger than the entire hand, and the wall punching calc only uses the fist's surface area. No Street level is the force a person exerts in order to slam a door open, not the door's kinetic energy, it's also on the fairly low end of Street level too. We don't use kinetic energy for fictional verses, but we still use it for the real world profile (it just no longer scales to durability)

Actually the calculation of slamming a door open is for shearing the latch apart. In most cases slamming open a locked door consists of breaking the wooden door jamb (the length of wood with the hole in it that the latch goes into), which can actually be achieved pretty easily in most cases. Just ask anyone who's ever kicked a door in or repaired one afterwards. I've done the latter and I've known more people who've done the former than I'd like to admit.

The boards on the window is significant, since the boards visibly got broken apart rather than simply pushed out of the wall. Depending on the strength of the boards it very much could be Street level, although those boards do look thin and a bit lacking in strength, so I don't know.

The doors look metal and made for quarantine, so it'd probably be way higher than a standard house door

As for the boards, they do look fairly thick in comparison to the hand

Yeah, OP has some issues.

Multiple audible slams, even if it wasn't a group. We also aren't on the scene for the entirety of them beating on that door.

Smashing double doors off their hinges: 7343 joules per door or 14.7 kilojoules total

Doors automatically open, as seen earlier in the video. Not quite the same as doors meant to stay rigid. Disagree with using this one at all.

It's a group, and they seem to be moreso contending with shit piled up in front of the door rather than a lock. Probably a feat, but more in the vein of LS, and would be divided amongst them. No idea if that would yield a stat relevant result, doubly so given it's in the format of a comic book (leading to debatable assumptions), I just mean to say that this is a feat, even if it's not the feat it's being reported as.

"Tearing apart humans" is generally Street level / Wall level (Arm / full body, head, jaw)

Yeah but which of these have they done lol? There aren't exactly many decapitated corpses around, purely because they mostly don't rip off body parts. They bite and mangle and claw, which can lead to cut off limbs, but this isn't for that. Not to mention "(Only reason they aren't getting Wall level is because the arm / full body and jaw calcs were never accepted)".

• Crowbars / baseball bats are Street level

They are also implied to be capable of snapping necks like with Private Bedford (reaching / grabbing the neck followed by loud crunch), so the Infected should be upgraded to Street level+ and possibly Class 1

Snapping necks isn't acceptable grounds for upgrades in of itself, it must be substantive. I agree with this being a feat but it doesn't constitute an upgrade in of itself. Should other 9-C+ feats exist, this is nice backup, maybe a small bump. I don't think anything remotely implies Class 1 (indeed, there's a good amount of antifeats anyways) so that bit is just not happening.

So I disagree with the tier changes for now, although I'm open to the possibility that they have enough 9-C feats to be that, should the arguments arise. LS is just straight up not happening, I don't really mind the intelligence one way or another so I'll agree with that for now.

Breaking the door latch is Athlete to Street level, but I edited above to clarify it was a group effort

Yeah, but they can still have been hitting the same approximate area, and in all likelihood were in fact doing that. Zombies have no noticeable ability to discern a door from a wall. Regardless, multiple strikes are heard, and this wasn't something that got instantly punched through.

They're not normal doors, they're doors designed to assist people in opening them. I think that's at the very least a notable mitigating/obfuscating factor.

Ripping off a human head is a very specifically high-end feat. Pulling it like that is much, much, much harder than cutting it off. As I said, cutting is very different from pulling. Mangling the human body doesn't actually require 9-C+ AP, just persistence.

Yes, but more generic gore, like ripping open the stomach, tearing apart skin, muscle, ect would be around street level as seen with our real world weapon pages

Little bit over a week since last post

• Infected punching through a truck windshield got Street level (NOT to be confused with a different feat)
• Mailer breaking a glass door got Street level as well
• And generic Infected window bust got Street level too (this should apply for practically every other window busting feat)

Also just to clear some air, I don't really have any plans to upgrade to 9-B, just remove the 10-A rating and replace it with Street level
