One Piece: Alabasta -> Skypiea Key Merge, Scaling Swap, and Calc Implementation

Looking at the list, I don't think anyone else scales off of her (except Nico Robin has Mr. 1, Zala and Mr. 2 listed as people that she scales off of, so Zala would just need to be removed from that).

I'll try to explain why I don't think Kachon's calculation should be used.

This is what is being used to find the diameter of the explosion, the diameter being that red line which in comparison to the calculated size for the city gets it to be 18.5 kilometers in diameter.

Now, this is an omnidirectional explosion, so if we draw a line going downwards from where the explosion supposed happened, we get this:

The vertical extent of the explosion actually reaches off panel, it'd encompassed the entire city easily. If the explosion detonated that high off the ground and was as big as what has been scaled, then the city should've been destroyed.
Why is my Calc and pixel scaling being mentioned... 🐵

Anyway... I know this isn't a CGM thread but I just wanted to this respond real quick (since it's my pixel scaling). That panel is looking at an upward angle, using a vertical line like that is completely disingenuous. The actual bomb/explosion diameter is actually higher up/further away, so you can't use a vertical line like that... It would look more like this:
Theft.png
So it wouldn't at all encompass the city, just reach close to it... Which we see happen

What I calculated, however, was the shockwave from the explosion moving all of the sand clouds. The actual bomb exploded above those clouds, but I used the clouds closest to the city to find its minimum width, as the city is much closer to our POV. That's where the pixel scaling width comes from... the actual explosions width (closer to the middle of the explosion) would be this red line:
latest
And that would actually have a bigger width based on the POV, with the above showing the bomb's epicenter being at least at the highest cloud height. With the anime confirming it's way above

So my pixel scaling panel to find the width is used solely as a minimum since it's the only one close to the city from our POV to accurately measure with

I agreed with KT to discuss the calc at a later point in a CGM thread, so will address it then but the above comment doesn't resolve all of my issues with using that version of the calc, but thanks for addressing it MonkeyOfLife.

I personally don't really like the merge, as we literally do see all of the strawhats basically needing to surpass themselves in order to win their battles at the end of Alabasta

We truly see that explicitly with Zoro growing at the end of the fight, much stronger than before. Being unable to even leave a scratch to then easily one shotting him in a near death state. Same with basically the rest of the strawhats, they were getting completely overpowered until they got overall stronger in some way and began overpowering them

And those specific strengths were maintained and honed on skypiea, further stated here as well

If merging the keys are for the greater good however, I wouldn't fully be against the merge but I've yet to see the actual benefits. Only possible problems emerging later on in my view

I'm overall kinda neutral for this thread tho...

Zoro literally canonically blatantly used a specific technique meant for cutting steel, which we consider haki, which he doesn't use every instance. Zoro learning 1 move that makes him beat Daz Bones doesn't mean that he's now a completely different character.
Zoro threw a flying slash. That is not him getting stronger. That is him using new moves.
