To expand on the gun, she literally used it for one scene for one point-blank shot and then didn't really use it again for the entire movie. Honestly, don't even know why its on her profile as standard equipment.
As for Burtonverse's counter, she can just disarm Nolan Catwoman. Also, she can push through the pain of getting shot multiple times.
