Seems he hadn't prior gone past his base form prior to fighting DBS Vegeta and needed to pushed into transforming, so he might not be able to do it at will. So let me get this straight. The Broly being used in the OP is already twice as strong as Goku and Vegeta (with a 2× gap between two Ki users being a canonical stomp gap in stats by Toriyama's own words) but he's also just going to constantly adapt to them on top of that? Yeah no, they're completely ****** against Broly.

fusing into Gogeta would delay the inevitable since Broly would unironically grow too fast for him to keep up, plus the instant he goes Ikari he 1 shots Gogeta back

I don't see Goku and Vegeta winning unless they 1 shot Broly off rip, which they don't really do in character. Ik GT is generally more no-nonsense but they still would let someone like Broly grow transform, especially since they have no prior knowledge of his growth, he isn't a threat at that moment, and he's a Saiyan, which would absolutely pique their interest

Broly literally overcame a larger power increase than Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta in the movie. In GT, Gogeta is explicitly stated to only increase their power by dozens of times and Broly overcame a literally thousands of times increase before he even fully powered up into Ikari.

This is literally not a problem because Broly closed a bigger gap than this rapidly without even transforming. If he does go Ikari then his aura is vaporizing Gogeta from existence.

There is literally every possibility considering how hard he ******* threw against Omega Shenron and defused because he couldn't stop ******* around fast enough. And this is assuming that they'll even try to kill Broly considering Goku can tell he's not a bad guy and will attempt to try and talk him down after fighting him for a bit like Super Goku tried to do. Besides, Base Broly was able to tank an attack from SSG Vegeta that was so strong compared to every other attack he threw at him that Goku legitimately thought it would kill Broly from the power difference yet all it did was just push him underwater and piss him off.

I was being generous when I said minutes, it was more like seconds considering Broly closed the gap between himself and Super Saiyan Vegeta after only being hit a couple of times and that was with a 50× gap off the rip since Vegeta isn't holding back in any of his forms whatsoever in this movie.

Even if they go all out from the start I genuinely don't think they can put him down fast enough regardless. He already showed being able to take attacks from a dude 50× stronger than him and just get back up to beat his ass and then did the same thing when said guy got THOUSANDS OF TIMES STRONGER THAN HIM.

And again, even then Gogeta's personality is more than likely going to screw him over if he doesn't immediately one-shot him which again is a huge problem because Broly has shown to be able to survive attacks from a not holding SSG Gogeta before he even started transforming into his Ikari form. After that he was facetanking his attacks.

But they've never fought DBS Broly before, they fought Toei DBZ Broly who doesn't grow or fight anything like his Super counterpart. Also worst case scenario is that Broly tries to use a God Bind on them and they literally can't avoid getting one-shot after that.

iirc LS is also somewhat connected to AP, so if they start higher, for the God Bind to work they'd have to already be in kill-range anyway

That's fair but it would certainly still at least surprise them if it lands, even if they have the LS advantage since they would feel their own aura invert on them for a moment and make them freeze up only for Broly to slam a haymaker into their faces.

Because Gogeta was trying to get Omega into launching the minus ball to turn it into positive energy and dispell all the evil stuff around the world, similar to what Vegetto was doing in Z against Buu (jobbing to get them into do something they want).

In this case Gogeta has exactly zero reasons to hold back or to try and rile up Broly.
