Creepypasta Discussion

In the future i might try to bring back the whole original mythos of the somethingawful thread. Basically everyone on the internet treats that original thread as the 'full' slender man mytho. perhaps as a seperate profile to his original incarnation in a similar fashion star wars has their disney canon and legends seperated at the very worst.

Speaking of Slender Man, should we consider the movie canon for the original mythos and merge these two profiles?

Eric Knudsen's Instagram posts, which we consider canon, use the movie design for Slender Man. That should prove that he considers the Slender Man of his mythology and the one from the movie to be the same entity.

Technically, very technically, they cannot be the same entity regardless due to how ****** Slender's copyright is.

Last i recall, the games, the og man himself, and the movie are all owned by different people.

And by the fact i don't want to watch that terrible movie ever again.

And even if the copyright wasn't ******, i wouldn't want them merged anyways. Just the design being used isn't really proof they're the same entity. They act fairly different enough to where i'd say it's good to keep them separate.

Especially if i'm successful in bringing the full mythos into the wiki. Imagine movie slender man having existence erasure.

I had heard that Eric helped write the story for the film, but I can't find a source for that, so I guess it's okay to keep both versions separate.

And what about the novel? Is it canon for the movie?

I persomally think we should keep OG Slender Man and Marble Hornets on the same verse page. They both originate from the SomethingAwful forum so i'd say it's fair to keep them connected. I also just fear some versions of him don't have enough to have their own verse page.

Games and marble hornets do however og slender man has 6 images and a dream, and minor implications of things that are only built on from other stories that currently are considered invalid to use. so i'm concerned regarding that. I have a CRT planned but idk if it'll be enough to give us the full thread as info i can use.

So is there a few more Creepypasta characters we could add, i feel like there isn't much to add because most of them have unknown authors.
 
I feel like the only characters that might be possible or not is maybe Jeff, Zalgo but i highly doubt if he can be added or not.
 
You know I've been thinking about the Rake and it's 10-B tier and it kind of doesn't make sense to me, couldn't the rake just be 9-C due to it being a bit stronger and overpowering many humans for decades?
