God of War Discussion Thread

I know hax but what is layer
picture this (and it is an example only for educational purposes)
a fella called 1 is resistant to time stop, so when, idk, Hit from Dragon Ball Super uses his ability, 1 does not get affected
and then this fella called 2 uses a medallion which stops both Hit and 1 in a Time Stop

This happened because the Time Stop ability from 2 is layered. Per our Glossary, putting more simply
Layers or Layered ability refers to an ability that has a higher degree of potency as evidenced by its capacity to bypass its respective resistance.

"Layers"

Why does that matter when i talk to you about Norse GoW vs Greek GoW?
Simple: Norse GoW, per our cosmology page, does not possess layers, save for Týr, who wouldn't even go that much far in the Greek pantheon, because even Poseidon or Hades should have more than that.
Baldur, having none, shouldn't be able to do much against any god from the greek pantheon, mainly because of their hax being layered, but there's also the fact that they have more hax factoring in.

Ok I understand

Ok I understand
just a footnote: it is always a great idea to ask in General Discussion Threads for the verses you mean to matchmake if the characters you want to put against one another could have a fair fight between them and bring up potential questions you may have, ok?

I respect you thanks. Also what do you think of this claim that Doomslayer outstats Kratos and Thor?

That guy seems to imply that the slayer outstats because of not being baseline 1-C
Which should be the case for Kratos too, since he's also outperforming "baseline 1-C" for his verse iirc
I don't feel knowledgeable enough in the cosmology to jump into that thread though

Hmm, I guess it is possible.

Lol, "Demigod Kratos > Thor" would be mad tho.
Def. It's doable tho so Non can make it, as hilarious as that is.

Let's see if i cooked or if i'll have to take restrictions off

Was expecting the Faye game to be a prequel showing her life before metting Kratos, was not expecting the premise being she goes to the afterlife for the gods when she died just before the start of GOW 2018.

Yeah I'd expect that Faye's gonna run into at least a few Greek gods given the Everywhen is an afterlife for gods of all pantheons

So the god Faye fights is Begtse, a deity from Tibetan Buddhism.

The woman was Sekhmet, an Egyptian goddess.

Both gods of War funnily enough.
WAit... how will they do those mythologies in future games if the titulars "gods of war" are dead?... assuming they do other mythologies
