RULES:
Rachel's Post-Clawed Training key will be used and Absence's Pre-Innae Pillar Absorption key will be used, both 7-C
Absence's Low-Mid regeneration is restricted. This makes this match inapplicable to profiles
Anything above 7-C is restricted and starting distance is 10 meters
Speed is equalized

NOTES:
Rachel has a 1.03x AP advantage
Rachel has the LS advantage
Rachel has the Stamina advantage

Absence has the Range advantage
Absence has the IQ advantage

Time to actually DEBATE.

AP is pretty much equal. I mean, a 3% difference won’t be very impactful. Something else that may not end up being very impactful is, surprisingly, Rachel’s Class T lifting strength. While it is an incentive for Absence to not go into melee range, if caught in her grip, Absence can arguably either teleport or shapeshift/melt out of it.

Something I don’t see Rachel having a good counter for is Absence either flying or teleporting high into the air and then range spamming Rachel. A range advantage like Absence’s is a powerful one to have when your opponent lacks similar mobility options to yourself. Even if he prefers hand-to-hand, they will know to avoid it after learning about the gap in LS.

To utilize teleportation or liquefaction, the character needs a moment to activate their thinking or bodily functions. With Class T Lift, the physical pressure Rachel exerts on Absence's liquid body at 0 meters is EXTREMELY INTENSE. When pinned or slammed to the ground by Class T force, Absence's momentum and liquid structure will be severely shaken. Furthermore, Rachel possesses the Lightning Spear, which can continuously release electrical energy. At close range, the high-voltage current from the Spear will constantly disrupt Absence's inorganic structure, making it extremely difficult for him to concentrate on activating Teleport or smoothly controlling Shapeshift.
The battle takes place in NYC's Central Park. This area is filled with ancient trees, architectural structures, caves, and especially a large lake. If Absence flies into the air to spam long-range attacks, Rachel, with her Gifted intelligence, will not stand still as a target. She will immediately utilize the terrain for cover, using tree canopies to obscure Absence's vision or jumping into the water thanks to her Diving Suit, which allows her to breathe underwater. Although Absence has self-targeting projectiles, these projectiles still require a specific trajectory and can be obstructed by physical obstacles (tree trunks, rock walls). If Rachel hides well underwater or behind rocky trees, Absence's long-range projectiles will be neutralized by the environment before reaching her. Conversely, even if Absence flies high or constantly teleports to conceal her position, Rachel still possesses Extrasensory Perception, Wind Sensing, and Thermodynamics from Mister Clawed. She will always know exactly where Absence is overhead, allowing her to proactively dodge or erect defensive barriers. The purpose of flying high and spamming Absence's long-range attacks is to accumulate damage and slow/paralyze the opponent until death.

However, Rachel is completely immune to Paralysis. Absence's long-range damage, fired from above and then mitigated by trees and obstacles, won't be enough to take down someone with terrifying Supernatural Willpower and Pain Tolerance like Rachel, who even managed to get back up after having her skull shattered. Because Absence is REGEN-PROHIBITED, any counter-attack attempts by Rachel, such as throwing rocks back or using Momentum to jump from buildings as she did with Robot Smith to get close, will accumulate damage to Absence, no matter how small.

Absence's continuous firing from above will deplete his Stamina (only at Peak Human level), while Rachel can patiently hide and endure thanks to her Superhuman Stamina. When Absence is tired and vulnerable, that's when he will descend and take the finishing blow. When Absence is tired and vulnerable, that's when he has to descend and take the finishing blow.

So from what I can gather from your arguments
  • Absence can’t think while squished by LS
  • Lightning spear is a good stun tool
  • Central Park has a lot of cover
  • Rachel isn’t effected by paralysis inducement
  • Rachel outstams Absence
While I’d make the argument that Rachel would be effected by Absence’s para inducement since the section in her resistances that relates to it only applies to actual electricity and neurotoxin-induced paralysis (Absence’s paralysis is more like a hitstun you’d see in a fighting game and isn’t really either of those), it ultimately doesn’t matter because it literally only lasts for, like, 1/10th of a second in this key. That’s NOTHING.

Central Park having good cover also isn’t an issue for Absence. His projectiles can home, his attacks have been shown decimating through miles of dirt, and his beam seemingly vaporized/destroyed all the dirt after the Green Prototype when he blasted it at the end of the second animation. Additionally, your arguments of how Rachel can counter attack Absence by throwing stuff at him or jumping at him is rendered null by him just… flying upwards a little more. He has hundreds of kilometers at his disposal for this.

While I disagree that Class T LS would be enough to stop Absence from thinking since you’re making the assumption that he’d feel significant pain. While it could damage him, type 2 inorganic physiology states that the user is likely immune to pain manip (or, in other words since I’ve seen this on plenty of profiles, they’d have high pain tolerance), and this is the case for Absence. Lightning spear is a legitimately good option for Rachel as it isn’t countered by his physiology, but it is countered by Absence being very nimble. Throughout the Absence series of animations, I try my best to show them as pretty quick to dodge, attack, etc, and they would likely teleport out of dodge as soon as possible when being crushed by Rachel.

The stamina concern is a valid argument and win condition, Absence likely wouldn’t be able to chip Rachel’s HP enough before they run out of stamina if she was able to… checks profile heal from having her skull crushed in a single night. Now, while this does raise plenty of questions for why Flip thought Absence’s regen was too absurd while Rachel’s wasn’t, it also puts Absence on the back foot as, by the time he realizes his chip damage may not be doing as much damage as he’s hoped, he’d probably have drained a considerable bit of stamina. Of course, he could try and teleport into close combat with Rachel and attempt to dodge all of her hits, something he may even pull off for a few moments, but that would inevitably end with either a lightning spear or Absence having to teleport back out of her range. Either way, a losing battle.

So… yeah, as long as Rachel keeps her regen and willpower as they are while Absence’s regen is restricted, Absence likely loses. Even if they tried something like hitting Rachel hard enough to send her through miles of dirt or hitting her up to the Karman Line, she’d likely be able to handle herself in those situations.

GG WP! That was a great and very detailed debate, thank you for being so fair and sporting.

As for why Rachel's regeneration ability is still accepted, the answer is quite simple. Rachel takes about a day to recover, while Absence's ability recovers during battle and much faster than Rachel's. So his ability is banned while Rachel's isn't, because her regeneration ability isn't very useful in this battle anyway ;-;

Thanks for the deb

It's because it's over time, it took a good nght's sleep and she was unconscious the entire time she was healing in the book. I didnt think it would be a problem TwT
