This was a CRT I had been planning to make a few weeks ago, but due to being busy and the lack of moderation, I have been postponing it.
Either way, the current state of 07th Expansion on the wiki is completely pitiful. I do not think this is a secret to anyone, but the problem reaches a point where I honestly think keeping the current profiles publicly visible is almost harmful to the wiki’s image, well, what remains of it.
Practically every profile in the verse, except for two, completely lacks any kind of scans, while having hax that has been considerably modified over time and that they currently should not have with the descriptions presented on the profiles.
Examples:
[1] Battler Ushiromiya
His entire profile is completely devoid of scans in every section. It has descriptions that make no sense, such as the justification for CM Type 1, which does not even come close to meeting the requirements for that hax.
[2] Eva-Beatrice
It only has a couple of scans for some abilities, almost all of which are wrong. Some justifications do not even meet the current requirements, such as the one for durability negation, which is NOT durability negation in the slightest.
[3] Ange Ushiromiya
Same as the example above. Most of the justifications are copy pasted between profiles, and to top it all off, most of the base information is wrong.
[4] Maria Ushiromiya
Exactly the same. Not a single miserable scan, and justifications that make no sense.
I want to point out that the examples I gave above are not super obscure characters. They are literally the main protagonists of the currently most recognized novel in the entire franchise. If that is the standard for the most important characters, what is the standard for the more obscure characters in the verse?
Easy. They compete for the title of the worst profiles on the entire wiki.
Examples:
[1] Une
This profile straight up has nothing. It is completely empty. The profile is so empty that it does not even have a summary of the character.
[2] Higanbana
Same case as above, but a little less extreme because this profile at least has a summary. But it still has literally no content, and the few abilities it does have are completely unsupported.
[3] Alice (Trianthology)
Another completely empty profile where the little it does have is just a generic copy and paste with no scans whatsoever.
I do not think more examples are needed for this point. The general quality is so abysmal that the profiles are either empty, or they outright have incorrect text and no scans.
The subdivision of profile keys is completely poorly organized. It makes no sense, is unclear, and to top it all off, is inconsistent across profiles.
Beatrice’s profile, for example, separates her Game Master state from her Golden Land key when they are literally the same thing. One key straight up says “piece at her peak,” but even Game Master Beatrice is a piece on a larger gameboard, so the terminology is completely wrong.
Examples like this exist in literally every Umineko profile, while the profiles from other works in the franchise are missing at least two or three additional keys. Rika’s profile, for example, only lists two of the endless versions of the character, and even then it divides them incorrectly, making a nonsensical generalization about the entire “World of Gods,” when that plane itself has a ton of different levels.
I think the point is clear. The very foundation of the profiles is completely wrong, so even the little information they do have is either poorly organized or outright uses the verse’s terminology incorrectly.
In conclusion, the profiles are simply in a completely deplorable state, far, far below even incomplete profiles on the wiki.
I am currently the only person actively working on this verse. A massive verse with a sheer amount of content that exceeds 2,000 hours across different media. The revisions are going to take quite some time to arrive, and the profiles in this state cannot remain publicly visible, because they are not only promoting the idea that Umineko is a privileged verse that does not need to prove the hax and levels it has, but also spreading false information.
As a precedent, Twin Peaks was deleted from the wiki for very similar reasons, and the verse was in a more acceptable state than 07th Expansion currently is, so there are no coherent reasons to keep the pages.
07th’s content on the wiki should be deleted so it can be remade from scratch, because the current material does not even work as a base. That is all.
