George vs Mizutsune

latest
latest

Conditions:
  • Speed equalized
  • Battle takes place in Kuala Lumpur, 50 m apart
    4tMaq9YibGXbr6KbRctpWE.jpg

  • George is enraged by the frequency and is at max size (35 ft) before the antidote
  • Length used for Mizutsune is 565.54 cm
Mizutsune scales to At least Class K, while George scales to Class M. I couldn't find George's AP value anywhere.

Edit: George scales to 2.48 tons of TNT, while Mizutsune scales to 6.73 tons of TNT, giving Mizutsune a 2.71× advantage in AP.

Mizu gets banana slammed: Fallen_Angelicx, Apotheosis69, JustANormalLemon
Monkey gets washed: Ztesrxgdfjcvgkbh, Rich987, AStrangeverse

Status Effect Inducement + higher stats? I think George only advantage is size and regen, I will give It to Mizutsune, their advantages are more significative
So I'm pretty sure SEI is referring to Bubbleblight which requires two hits, the first makes George more agile, the second turns off all attacks. I thought this matchup interesting because I pondered whether agility amp would help him massively

Sorry I misread, here's what it does

Bubbleblight

Effect Covers: the Hunter in bubbles. Upon the initial application, it grants a bonus to a hunter's evasive capabilities. While the second stack causes hunters to slip, leaving them vulnerable to attacks.

Another description

Covers the Hunter in bubbles. Upon the initial application, it grants the effects of Evasion+1 and Constitution+1, but being hit with more bubbles will cause the Hunter to slip and slide helplessly, unable to attack and with significantly reduced control over their movements.
In Monster Hunter Rise, the effect was changed slightly. Hunters no longer slip and slide uncontrollably, only sliding after movement instead. Hunters can also attack normally while being covered in bubbles.

Also Waterblight

Effect on Hunters
If a hunter is inflicted with Waterblight, their stamina recovery rate will become greatly reduced, making it more difficult to perform actions that require stamina.

Effect on Monsters
A monster's hide will become softer when it is afflicted with Waterblight. This effect becomes more pronounced the harder the body part is, making it a prime opportunity to go after sections that are otherwise difficult to damage.

Unsure on whether George would be a hunter or a monster, probs the latter

How does Mizu's abilities work. George's reaction speed is 10.6x faster than their both their combat speeds. And he has the LS advantage (A decent gap). This leviathan is getting dragged through the earth to exhaustion

So you're telling he, with just 1 hit. George gets more agile when he is already 10.6x faster reaction speed wise here? How does Mizu even deal with this

Yeah I am thinking WITH Bubbleblight making George more agile.

He can easily catch Mizutsune and just rip him apart, considering he is in a frenzy.

Plus George does have slight Accelerated Development of Phys Stats via size increase.

LS meta is no more so this can't work. The tensile strength of Mizu is higher than his AP, meaning they can't be ripped apart. However they can be easily restrained, thrown around or even choked unconscious.

Happens over the course of hours. I doubt they'd be fighting for that long honestly

Does speed equal affect reaction speed? Genuine question I have no idea

To clarify:

Not every attack carries Bubbleblight.

I'm not sure which version of Bubbleblight we go with. I'm assuming it's the most recent one? The first application of Bubbleblight makes him more agile, and the second hit makes him slip around uncontrollably.

Waterblight, carried on different moves, either reduces stamina by half or reduces the toughness of George's skin, depending.

There's an AOE attack where Mizu makes a big field of bubbles. Some bubbles damage, some heal, and I'm pretty sure the red ones grant an attack boost, but George is so big he probably just runs straight through them all, healing him, granting him x2 Bubbleblight (the slippy one), and an attack boost. This is just one attack out of many possible, however, and it's quite possible the x1 Bubbleblight agility boost gets applied before this attack comes out.

Big ape has the terrain advantage, being able to climb buildings.

Nope.
  • The combat speed of that faster character is assumed to be equalized to the combat speed of the slower character. Every other speed the faster character has is reduced by the same multiplier. This includes the speed of any attacks, projectiles, reactions, perception, flight, etc.
    • Speed Amplification techniques are assumed to grant the same percentile of increase to a character's equalized speeds, as they would to their usual speeds.

Umm, the LS meta still works from the Staff Thread... It just doesn't do damage if you're AP Stomped. To which obv, George isn't.... But you can still choke-hold people out, even thought that is completely BS.

Hey, to me Every moment counts. but I digress

Thats what I said, Tensile strength is durability. If dura lower than AP and LS of a character by a detrimental amount, Rip rip snip snip. The reason behind the choke hold LS thing is, its the restricting of blood flow and oxygen intake of the respiratory by crushing the neck with forces the body of a character can't repell. Soon they'd be knocked unconscious.

Sorry I should've asked earlier are you two voting George?

Thing is… 2.7x is Not a detrimental amount in AP/Dura

Like at Minimum 5x is Detrimental

And yes I'll vote for George

Its notable. A Person who lifts 200 kg, is most likely not be able to lift 470 kgs. Along with weaker striking strength as well? It's kinda ambitious to assume those differences are compromisable. There should really be a rule on the Lifting Strength pages about "ripping your opponent apart"

Plus this grows exponentially (in practically and application)

Someone who can lift 2kg isn't that different from someone with 4.7kg
But 20000 kg is vastly below 47000 kg

Don't you think George might have a hard time fighting Mizutsune directly?

She's an ambush/trap-based predator. We can see this in her Turf War with Uth Duna, as well as in her introduction cinematic in Monster Hunter Wilds and her trailer in Monster Hunter Generations, where she actively prepares the battlefield with her soap bubbles to make movement more difficult for her opponents.

I believe George would try to attack head-on, which means he'd be walking right into that trap. Once he's caught in an area covered with soap, he'd have trouble moving around effectively, making it much easier for Mizutsune to land her bubbles and water jet attacks.

Also, I have a question: will Mizutsune have access to her Soulseer mode?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, after losing a certain amount of HP, she enters a state where flames emerge from one of her eyes, and her bubbles change from regular soap bubbles to fiery, explosive ones.

Regarding the traps, there's no prep time so it has 50 meters of charging monkey to prepare stuff

Regarding the Soulseer stuff... I haven't played Wilds lol I capped out at Rise. Is it something all monsters just have now or is it just optional?

Mizu only needs to pass her tail across the surface, or simply move through it as she usually does. She doesn't need any kind of preparation beforehand. The fact is that George would likely charge straight at her, and all she has to do is jump or dodge in any direction, leaving behind a large amount of soap where she was originally standing.

As for Soulseer, no. Only Mizu received this small change in Wilds. It would be more like a temporary transformation/state.

I think it then depends on how quickly George gets to the second Bubbleblight stage, because that increased agility on top of 10x reaction speed advantage is lethal for Mizu

Also forgot to mention, it would either be this or going up a skyscraper to drop on top of Mizu and he's not exactly stupid enough to not avoid stuff, but he also might run into it due to the rage

Looking at how Mizutsune usually hunts, I don't see George escaping the second stage of Bubbleblight because of the terrain. Mizu can leave pools of soap behind that also apply the status effect. George would have to deal with attacks coming from multiple directions due to Mizu's tendency to constantly circle her prey while surrounding them with soap, moving around him as his own movements become increasingly erratic because of the slippery terrain, especially if he tries to rush her in close combat from the start.

With the skyscrapers around, George could potentially get out of the range of the soap and bubbles, maybe throw chunks of concrete or other debris at Mizu, and even try to leap onto her. However, once he's in the air, he can't change direction, which could result in him landing right into a soap trap if Mizu dodges, or taking a direct water jet that slows him down and deals significant damage.
