Devil May Cry Anime show Discussion Thread

Vergil was also asked if Mundus could even defeat Argosax and he clearly knows his power given he spent all his life with him and gone up against Argosax to gauge his power

Not to mention he was the only one that could go 1v1 against him evenly
Yes, unless Sparda is secretly alive somewhere, Mundus is the god tier of the verse now. Even then, Sparda was more so his equal.

He’s clearly more powerful than the revived Argosax, even tanked his strongest blast for a short period of time and then one shot him.

Though, I have a feeling that by the end of the series, Dante and Vergil will be there.

I've got images now for what should be the important feats depending on episode.

S2 E1
S2 E3
S2 E4
S2 E6
S2 E8

I didn't include things like closed captions, lore fluff, or other repetitive feats. Got tired of looking for YouTube videos because it seems Netflix isn't allowing certain types to be uploaded.

Yeah S2 was better than S1 but that was an easy benchmark to reach tbh.

Not gonna bother reviewing the show (I'm struggling to rewatch S2 incase I missed something tbh) but I will say it was surprising to see two Republican presidents of the USA get killed at around the same time, in two different shows (NDMC anime on Netflix and The Boys on Amazon) but I won't jump any further into that political quagmire.

Did it make you more depressed? (Hopefully not)
I don't know what do you mean by this, I just thought it was bad. If you mean my profile thing, it has been there for a long time by now

What did you find bad? Iirc you somewhat enjoyed S1. So what changed?
Things. First of all, I think I've said it before, but people should not be scared of change. As someone who loves a franchise who is constantly changing, change can be good, change can be ok, change can be irrelevant and change can be bad. Basically, I went to the Netflix show already not expecting a 1:1 adaptation with creativity liberties, but I went to season 2 already not expecing a lot because one of the worst things about S1 was the ending, and I wasn't exciting to see how they would follow it up and the show never got an actual momentum going on, unlike S1.

Talking more abroad before going into specific episode ratings (Since that's how IMDB handles ratings for shows), it felt weird, lazy and underdeveloped on several occasions, as well treating the viewer like a kid despite its rating. I really lost the count on the amount of times the show just decides to show a scene with a "flashback" filter, it was specially egregious when they did that to a scene that happened literally 5 minutes ago. I think about episode 4 or 5 I just wanted it to end, because I put into myself I had to watch the show since I made all the profiles, the verse page and all but 1 calc for S1. You should compare the show to S1, but I also was just constantly comparing to Nocturne S2, or just other types of media. After I finished watching the S2 I read the latest G.I. Joe chapter, and it is amazing how much they did with so much less time and without making me scratch my head. There is also an overabundance of songs used, S1 also had this, but it feels like S2 just wents overblown with it, and it doesn't work for most of the time, I think I only enjoyed 1 music sequence from S2 with licenced music

I don't know the rating yet since I normally take the average of the episodes and I haven't rated them yet, but I'll now (They are pretty big so you can just read the summary below)
This didn't really hooked or made me interested to watch it as much as E1 of S1. The initial sequence with the military soldiers felt off, they were trying to make you care for them and tried to give them personalities and I just don't care about them. Vergil working for Mundus, again, a change, people shouldn't be scared of change, but this one was alright and I think it makes sense for the Netflix version, for Mundus to try to recruit the Sons of Sparda and blame it on someone else that can be easily identifiable. The show also started with the Football guy, and I hoped to not see him again, boy was I wrong. Vergil got clowned by a bunch of soldiers, did not like that at all, I wanted to stop watching already. Bodies is a neat music, and I thought it worked alright. Lady getting played by Arius is there, its fine, didn't hooked me up.

Goliath appeared to die, its fine, I would've hoped he was used for more but Goliath is not a boss I personally care that much, unlike Beowulf, which I think was the best thing about the episode until I heard his voice, there are a lot of factors that makes Beowulf one of the best bosses in 3, and I think one of them is his intimidating voice, and the show didn't do it any justice. Furies appeared, that's nice, one of the secretaries appeared, which made me think Lucia would appear, that did not happen, what a shame. The plastic chair appeared, honestly, innofensive, cute easter egg, if they wanted to put it there, I think they did the best they could since Jester is the one who summoned and sit on it, it was cute.

Lady also just disowns her own name for Lady, for another reason, another change, but one that was bad. There is no reason for her to do it, I'm still trying to figure out why she did it, when it was clear why she did it in the games, this one just felt off and with no reasoning behind it

And I'll just keep a count of how many licenced/voiced music there is, as well as the flashback filter.

2/10, I already don't want to watch this anymore
I liked Lady working out, and the way the episode is structured was an interesting idea, and I liked the way both Dante and Lady told their version of their re-encounter, with Dante being silly, and Lady's being way more serious then it actually is (Though Dante had a lollipop). Its interesting Dante didn't had any animosity towards Lady, probably not what he would've done in the games, a change I'm not particularly affected by. Ebony and Ivory arrived, the show off was neat, everybody knows the origin of siad show off, once again, I don't really mind it that much, the sequence was neat, the music not so much. Goldstein appeared, she was fine, not so much to talk about her. Also the Tony Redgrave name being thrown away, its fine

There is not a lot to talk about the episode, which kinda that makes me realize how much of nothing happened, or rather, how much repeated information there was. It was fine, but I wasn't particularly hooked by the episode yet. I kinda that liked Arius being furious at Vergil in that program because I don't really like villains who always have everything under their control 100% of the time, and I like when they react to a stone thrown in their way, but that's about it, and considering what happens later, I'm starting to think this was planned by him

4/10
Episode starts with a music clip '-'. Backstory, its fine, Vergil getting tortured felt like it was made for shock vallue. I cringed when Asmongold appeared on screen again, and I asked myself how the football guy was on Darkcom base when he was, supposedely, so far away before, and that's where I realized he would be appearing more and more, for not a lot of reason. When the same happened to the guy before, it had a small reason, it being he surviving the encounter with the White Rabbit so he could have some info about him... but I really don't know why the Football guy is appearing again, and will continue to appear, he is jsut getting transfered left and right. Vergil looking at the Sniper was neat. The Dante vs Vergil had good animation, but I think the whole fight is made worse by the music in the background in the first part, it really makes it feel like a music clip, some shows do it neatly, like Arcane, some shows just don't know how to use it/feel like they are trying to be the new Arcane, like this one

Dante getting mad over Vergil killing a guy who clearly wanted to kill him feels kinda weird. Mainly because it felt like Dante was shocked he would do that, when the guy shot at Vergil, but Dante reacts like Vergil killed an innocent man, nevermind the fact that he aimed at both at them, and I don't mind Dante having a reaction, but that reaction felt injustified considering the context. Though, since there is not a lot of great things I'll be saying about this show, I'll say the sequence of Vergil shooting the guy was pretty good, I don't know if the music is part of the show's rendition of Bury The Light/The song that was playing previously, but I enjoyed the music as well (I decided to grab the part where the music starts)

Bury the Light started playing, I dig that cover, not the best, but I think it works. Hey, Dante got impaled by his sword this time around and the Football guy survived again. And then Arius revealed everything was under control and everything was part of his plan and it is quite boring. Lady going away is fine, but the whole "Who's Mary", once again, feels not earned, she has no reason to abandon her name like that, if this wasn't tied to DMC she probably wouldn't have said that. And there is also a Flashback for a scene that happened at the beginning of this episode, and this is not the most egregious use of the flashback filter

6/10 Its all downhill from here
More backstory for Vergil, its fine I guess, I don't think we need to see his training, but I'm not too bothered by it. I'm also not bothered by Arius winning his battle against Vergil. He had one of the 4 Arcana, the Sparda, while Vergil was on base and after battling with Dante, it felt believable. The fight was alright, I liked seeing Vergil TP around like he does in his boss fights. We got a glimpse of Argosax design and I have to say I hate it, and the close up on his face in this episode reminded me of Yujiro looking at Yanagi when he back handed him, so there's that. I guess I forgot the part where Lady finds out about the execution in the 1st Season, which is mad funny when you consider something that happens later. Lady commenting how much she is scared of change is kinda relatable tbh, but I don't buy the weight of the situation that much.

This is also where we started to see Arius' backstory, initially, I also didn't really cared for this, and I was always asking myself why we have to see it... and TBH, I still think we didn't need to see his childhood, but this plays later to a change I actually liked, but that's for latter. Fortuna mentioned, yey. I didn't expect Dante and Vergil to join forces, and I'm not exactly thrilled by it. This is also where things started to get confusing a bit in relation to what happened to Sparda and who sent the demons to Eva's house because there is just so many people lying about those events. It doesn't make the story smart, it makes it confusing for no reason. Why does Lady have a tracker for the Arcanas? I decided to check the 1st episode, and she doesn't really have it, she just has a device that told her how the Arcana looked.

Somehow, the Football guy is back, now trying to arrest the president, he just fled, why is he being assigned so many different roles? And how does Arius have the recording of Hopper and Vergil? And then the Football guy killed the president, that's nice, that surely happened. Dante grabs the coin, people who are familiar with DMC could see where that was leading to, but it makes something kinda egregious later in this same episode. I forgot all of Arius' childhood was here, everytime it appeared it made me roll my eyes. I also don't really buy Vergil, Dante and Lady not being able to take down that army of Demons, like, they shouldn't have any trouble at all alone, let alone the 3 together. Sure, there were the secretaries, but we were shown how they barely matter either because Dante and Lady were able to fight them off while they were in their Devil Trigger.

Anyways, in the middle of that battle, Dante gets close to the coin, and I think almost everybody knew what happened, that is important for a later scene. Which is the next one I'm going to talk about, do we really need an extended scene to show what Dante did? Like, it was obvious when it happened, it couldn't be more obvious when it could've happened, but they still need to show us it happening, then they kiss. I don't mind romance or Lady and Dante together, but they didn't really do anything to warrant that. I was, once again, comparing this to Nocturne, which I felt like did a much better job at making the main couple a thing, Dante and Lady didn't really had any moment to really talk about anything and they barely know each other, it doesn't feel earned, but I feel like that's my problem with most romances

3/10 It gets worse
Oh look, its Keith David, that's nice. And Dante with the black jacket doesn't look that bad tbh, and revealing magic is not magic but quantum energy... Eh, you might as well call it magic, you don't need to shy away from that... Yet, another curve stone about the truth about Sparda, Lucan knows Sparda, and he doesn't seem to have any resentment towards him, so who the **** is right about Sparda? Where is he? He's not dead, clearly, but what truly happened years ago against Mundus? Don't keep throwing us so many curve balls, he is not Asmodeus from Dungeons and Dragons. I also don't know why Dante didn't run instead, he could've gone to Lucan and asked him to diverge attention, but just run dude. Considering what we see later, Dante and Lady would be better by themselves, hell, Dante alone would be better to protect the coin before the eclipse, it made me roll my eyes.

Worth noting: Dante, Lady and Vergil got in and out of the base via his teleportation, that's important for the future. Then blah blah, Lucan wants to destroy the coin instead of just letting Dante run away... Then the annoying girl is here, Mattie, I already knew I was going to hate her when she started talking. Dante and Lady had a moment, that's fine I guess... But did they really had to sleep when they are protecting the coin? Priorities, you're supposed to be guarding something that, if Arius gets, means the end of both realms, I think that deserves more attention then sex, specially once Dante and Lady commented how he does care about the situation, doesn't seem he cares that much if he puts that over protecting Lucan

I also don't know why Dante gave Mattie his medallion, storywise, now I know why, but I don't know the reason why she got that amulet from him, just asking for her to hide would've done the job as well, but we need it for Vergil, or something, I guess. And that's what some people would call "foreshadow" by Dante's "bite them", I'm surprised they didn't use a flashback to remember us about that later on. Also, why didn't they started with DT instead of letting them kill a few secretaries? I also don't really mind the 3D, its fine, there are worse looking ones around

Also, I hope you like the flashback filter, because they did it for a scene that happened 1 minute and 10 seconds ago, because we all forgot that. I also don't know why Arius just didn't decide to go towards Lucan and the coin instead of just holding Mattie as a hostage, the path is clear, go kill him, go grab the coin, this is a common trope but one I always dislike. I would be more happy if Lucan actually went with and destroyed the coin instead of saving Mattie, that would be unexpected and create a few layers for the characters, but he just does what every character does in this same trope. Keith David then died, neat

As a sidenote, this was episode 5 out 8, unless they stretched out the 1 hour for the next episodes, I knew the coin was never going to be destroyed, so this whole thing felt pointless and only there to make sure Arius got the coin back

3/10 This felt like filler
Oh hey, it's a Fallen... And Lady killed him with a bullet in its weak spot... Why are the anti-demon bullets needed? This is something that was clear since E1 of S2, but people can kill demons just fine with normal bullets, do they really need special bullets? Sure, it makes them explode, but it can't be that cost effective, just shoot them normally... The Football guy is here again, and I already knew what he would do once I saw him, how does he get so many assignments? Mattie's alive... Why? Why not kill her? Like, legitimate question, why emprison her and not kill her? Does Arius have standards now? Why is she alive? And, of course, Vergil saves her because she has Dante's amulet

Mundus actually betrayed Argosax and took control, fine I guess, another change I don't really mind, and I think it is a fine change, Mundus defeated one to become the current ruler, after all, and the existence of both at the same time never felt right to me, so I'm ok with this change. Another change I liked was for Arius to be from the 1000s, and Argosax allowed him to reincarnate to bring him back to life, I felt like this was interesting but I would be ok without all of the scenes from his childhood, they don't really add anything. Then Vergil apparently wanted to save Mattie? He says he didn't cared, but then he moved to cut Major Bludd's arm before he touched her

Surprise, Arkham is alive, and notice what Lady talks about Baines in his face right after he shows Arkham is alive, that is very important and I think the show is trying to make us sympathize with Baines? I think? It wasn't very clear because that never happened to me but it feels like they want us to feel that way. Football guy frees her, of course he does, and I hoped this was the last time we saw him. Of course Dante frees himself because Arius didn't thought leaving a guard there would be smart. Baines dies and Lady cries, and I'm pretty sure I let out a laughter when I saw that, if the moment wasn't bad enough, the music ruins it by being obnoxious. Also, the main secretary doesn't kill Lady, guess Arius wanted to use his soul sucking on her, but after she dodged they just let her be, assuming that would not backfire, at all. I liked Argosax's initial form, shame it didn't stay that way for long

3/10 there's still 2 episodes left
Vergil now knows Mundus used him... and then he got out of the Trimagia while saving Mattie as well, and they are back in the mountain, with no indication she went through the portal, and if she did, she would be so far away from where the story actually takes her, one more thing to keep in mind. The main secretary still thought it was a good idea to leave Lady alive... The Football guy is back again '-'. And the last Darkcom guy just keeps staring at Lady, hand on the trigger for so many seconds, and still wants to throw a quip before shooting her, that was enough time for the football guy to grab a fire extinguisher and throw at him, and he didn't even noticed or heard, better yet, Lady didn't even tried to disarm him either. This is a common trope but I dislike it whenever it is used

Mattie is also on the same building as the main secretary because reasons I guess? Football guy kills a bunch of his colleagues and he doesn't care about that, yay. Another laugh because the main secretary said Baines was Lady's father figure and she didn't retort it in any way. Argosax also keeps getting uglier the more souls he absorbs, that's a bit sad. I was also a bit happy to hear Vergil say Nelo Angelo wasn't his DT... And it is just Dante's DT but blue with different horns. That looks ugly, I don't mind that DT for Dante, I think it gets a lot of slack, but the design is fine, and it looks better in 2D, but that just doesn't work for Vergil, in all of the DMCs, the 2 always had different looking DTs, even Nero had a different looking DT from Vergil's. I also hate how the Yamato changes shape when he enters his DT

Rebellion also changed appearence, before it disappeared into Dante's DT, now, this season, he had it while in DT, and now it is transformed, for some odd reason. DMC 3 M1 music... for some reason. Its a neat track but I don't think it fits the moment at all. And they try to justify Mattie being there by letting her have the final shot on the main secretary for some reason... That sure happened and that sure gave the series a lot more that it didn't had before.

Oh yeah, and remember how the Football Guy was surrounded by Darkcom soldiers, the same one who got soul sucked? How did he escaped that when he was in the middle? He shouldn't even be alive right now, but somehow he escaped the death beam while kneeling but the other guys didn't? Mundus vs Argosax sounds interesting, I sure as hell hoped it was another design for Argosax. Another thing I realized, the Football guy hold lady for much more time then she held herself before passing out...

I didn't cared about Lady vs the Secretary nor Dante & Vergil vs Argosax

To say I didn't liked anything about this, I liked Dante's quips here, the rocket riding was a neat scene I guess

I really did not care for the Mundus vs Argosax fight. Then they spent like, 8 minutes info dumping us with more Sparda things that I don't really know if it is even right at this point. I didn't liked Beowulf getting killed like that but it doesn't seem like he died, I think at least, it doesn't matter, even he did something I was just hoping the show would end as quickly as possible... Also, weird how Mundus didn't even try to lift a finger, and only did when Vergil closed the rift. Vergil and Dante's fight has more obnoxious music on top of it, but I guess I didn't mind the flashbacks sometimes showing when they were kids as they fought, but I would be ok without them, specially since Vergil did the same move Dante did when they were younger, and it would be neat to see that without the show constantly going back adn forth to say "Look, he did the same thing Dante did when they were young!". Then Vergil did the DMC 5 quote.

Then Jester did a weird thing, apparently he knew Lady was going to eventually see that recording? Or something like that. Then Shall Never Surrender hits and I was glad it was over so I could read GI Joe#22. At the very least, the setup is not as bad as S1's setup, I'm not terribly excited to watch S3, but I'm at least not dreading it like I was with S2, I don't know if I'll watch it either, bleh

Dante getting mad over Vergil killing a guy who clearly wanted to kill him feels kinda weird.
Nothing weird about it, paying attention, you'll notice that Dante has yet to kill anyone in the entirety of the show except demons. Even the mercs paid to kill him, he didn't kill any of them. It's not surprising then that he wouldn't expect his twin that he hasn't seen since they were children to be a murderer.
. Why does Lady have a tracker for the Arcanas? I decided to check the 1st episode, and she doesn't really have it, she just has a device that told her how the Arcana looked.
Arius explicitly says he outfitted Lady with a tracker that detects the arcan's demon signature, and she should follow it closely, not how it looked. Not sure how you missed this, it's the first 5 min of the season.
I don't mind romance or Lady and Dante together, but they didn't really do anything to warrant that. Probably a bad way to look at most "romances", especially one moreso focused on a teenagers like this show. I've had these thoughts for a while now as to why internet dudes dislike romance so much but it's because they approach romance in show like a fight scene, and less so than what teens are actually like. People like each other and will kiss and sleep with each other after knowing each other for weeks because they're that much attracted to each other. If anything, it would actually be poor writing if they just pretended that Dante and Lady don't like each other at all.

Its interesting Dante didn't had any animosity towards Lady, probably not what he would've done in the games, a change I'm not particularly affected by.
Game Dante is incredibly forgiving to women. Sometimes we forget that Lady shot him point blank in the skull and the next time he met her, he just brushed it off, and Trish tried to kill him the first time he met her, and then betrayed him later on and he still refused to harm her and immediately went into business with her after she tried killing him and then later saved her after she betrayed him. It's a very consistent trait of his character, likely extending from him being influenced by older school heroes. They get the girl and they don't really harm women.

Dante acted like Vergil killed someone innocent in cold blood, also it wouldn't be weird to expect that considering Dante already knows Vergil works for Mundus.

I don't remember most of the second season, guess that's on me, but that's something I only noticed when skipping through the episodes. Doesn't really change the rating tbh.

It still a bad developed romance, to compare it, Nocturne did a much, much better job at that department in the same amount of episodes as the DMC show. They don't have a lot of chemistry together, they barely spend time together, and neither of them are teenagers, they are both young adults at this point

The Netflix version is much more forgiving. After Lady shot him in the head and they meet again, he wasn't exactly happy when he saw her. I'm not saying Dante should be trying to murder Lady, I'm just saying he had no animosity towards her, he, quite literally, instantly forgave her upon seeing her again, in fact, he just treated her like a friend, and we have an example of how that isn't the case in DMC 3, as I said it before. And Trish is in no way comparable, a lot of that comes from the fact she looks like Eva, not because she is a woman

Yea, Dante wouldn't do the same thing. Remember how hearing that Vergil works for Mundus got Dante mad? It's because such a thing is unbelievable to him. He doesn't expect his twin brother to actually be as evil as he's told. This is normal.

Different relationships. Dante is like 19 in this show last I checked. Nocturne is clearly going for a very young 16 year old cutesy relationship where both are very awkward and it's Richter and the girls first time having a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's why there's a lot of blushing going on. This one is different, both are older than those two, and the relationship is more fleeting.

Dante's words in DMC3 after being shot is "what the hell was that for?" "whatever, do as you please". He's not really showing any animosity towards her, and then leaving says he has "rotten luck with ladies".

If you're talking about the point after that, he's flirting with Lady even as she has a gun pointed at his head. "If you're asking for a date? forget it, I make it a point not to date women who shoot me in the head".

Neither of this is animus, it's really teenage flirting. Also, Trish is very comparable to all of this. It's a similar level of flirting, except DMC1 has like half the cutscenes of three.

Don't even compare Trish to Mary. Trish has a much more complex and peculiar dynamic with Dante. And Dante is extremely hurt when Trish betrayed him, and he let her know it. Fully displayed his rage and anguish. He NEVER did that for Mary. If Nante's chibi sequence is anything to go by, he almost feels like a weakling nice guy who will roll over for any women. Trish redeems herself by pulling off a miracle feat of redemption and love that has not been performed since Sparda betrayed Mundus 2000 years ago. Trish was wiling to die in the sewer while embracing Dante at end of game, if not for that plane falling.

Canon Dante is almost harsh by comparison, he doesn't tolerate pushy women, AT ALL, stated verbatim. Especially those who push themselves onto him for sex. Especially if you have read the novels. Even 07 anime shows how ruthless he is, he threatened to kill adult Patty Lowel on the spot and kills a demon women in a bar after playing "Mr Steal your Girl" act. Even with child Patty he is strict and sarcastic, even if utterly protective.

Even against Lady in games he is harsh when he needs to be, he respects her grit and noble attitude. Lady is also not insufferable or prideful, compared to Mary. Neither does she go out of her way to antagonise Dante or betray him. Lady is very much like a sarcastic but caring little sister who knows she can rely on her "Big Brother" like Dante.
Compare that to Mary, where everyone else has to take more interest in her private matters and feeling compared to herself, and keep mocking her for being a school girl with a crush. There is no chemistry or reason for her to fall for Dante or for Nante to fall for Mary. Everything about it is forced. There isn't even any raw sexual attraction due to reptile brain which would have made at least some sense that the due wants to just **** each other due to biological instinct, instead the show tries to push it as some sort of emotional affair and then the entire thing falls flat on its face.

Richter is also 19 years old, so they are the same age. The romance in the netflix show felt forced, there was no chemistry when it happened
If you're talking about the point after that, he's flirting with Lady even as she has a gun pointed at his head. "If you're asking for a date? forget it, I make it a point not to date women who shoot me in the head".
That's not flirting, that's him not wanting anything to do with her, his own words say it, he was also not even going to acknowledge her if she didn't point a gun to her
Also, Trish is very comparable to all of this. It's a similar level of flirting, except DMC1 has like half the cutscenes of three.
Again, it is not comparable because Trish looks like his mom, when she betrays him, he doesn't want anything to do with her

This is going to be a problem here. If you can't see very obvious flirting like this, even when Dante is purposefully throwing the word date in there, that means you're missing the forest for the trees here. This likely stems from your dislike of romance, you can't even see it when it's in your face.

This is one of those things where you're repeating yourself but it doesn't bolster your argument. One can very easily check this by the next time Dante and Trish meet, when he thinks she's dead is when he bursts out crying with the cringe/ funny/ iconic "I wanted to fill your dark soul with light". Again, showing that he always cared, and he always wanted something to do with her.

Jeez, DMC is a very over the top series that lacks subtlety. All of this is in your face.

Richter never had a girlfriend at all in Nocturne. The entirety of his romance is treated as a young boys first time with a girl which is why he's incredibly shy with her. There's nothing "forced" here, and ironically enough, the chemistry is on the nose which is why many expected it to happen.

I Lowk dont mind the new season.I liked both of them.Ive played DMC 5 and 1(Playing DMC3 atm).I just noticed that Vergil most of the time acts way out of his character,Dante not so much(Reminds me of his DMC3 counterpart).
But you can just assume that the Anime is a different story.

So from what Ive seen Argosax is about city block lvl(Idc abt the statement it didn't topple a city) and Mundus/Sparda are Mountain level maybe, while the sons still at Building lvl.
Nothing crazy abt speed tbh.

**** Adi Shankar tho he still hasn't finished Cap Laserhawk s2.

I did that from the start, and S1 works well enough as a separate story on some ends, besides the ending, and S2 wasn't great or good.

It is not just "this is not DMC" and more like "this story doesn't work as its own thing"

You can likely get higher for Argosax (He vaporized a good chunck of rock), the last crater in the season might upgrade the Dante. One would just need to calc all of it

Yh Vergil was insufferable,at least the "Sparda not being necessarily a saviour" is a nice trope.

At least it has amazing animations and fights.

Its a change, but they don't really do anything with it, and it is likely not even ture considering Lucan met Sparda and didn't seem to had any bad memory about him.

I mean, its fine. It doesn't look ugly but it is not mind blowing either, it doesn't help that anything good about the fights is ruined by bad music. There is only a single part I thought it was good, and it was when Vergil shot that guy in E3

Netflix DMC is easily the worst piece of DMC media, and that's impressive, given DMC2 exists, holy shit LMAOOOOOOO
