Hazbin Hotel Discussion Thread

ShionAH really trying the FTL Hazbin gimmick like the sonic tiers ain't far better for matchups of low to high tiers and make vox an equal speed demon. I'm crying

N had no viable wincons either way
Adam wincons:
  • 2x higher in AP
  • Way higher LS
  • Angelic Weapons. (Negates immortality and regeneration.)
  • Holy light. (Higher heat value. Speed is equalized, but Holy light is still faster. Will use it if he's unable to beat his opponent CQC.)
  • Immortality + Resistance to Regeneration negation makes him unkillable.

N wincons:
  • Acid tail (Countered by Adam's inorganic physiology and regeneration/resistance to regeneration negation)
  • Better at combat.
  • More ranged weapons.

I am not doing CRTs to “get better matchups”z I index stuff that I think is right. Downplaying for better matchups is really weird.

Tell me what potential woman over there does then, because the pacifist doesn't ******* fight people. She literally only fights Katie Killjoy and beyond that she requires transformations, weaponry, or magic to scale.

Base Charlie with no transformations, scale her.

Tell me how Moxxie who is not just the LOWEST OF THE LOW (Imps) in power but also PHYSICALLY WEAKER THAN THE OTHER IMPS is not just STRONGER THAN THE LUCIFERS DAUGHTER WHO BEAT A HIGH RANKING POPULAR SINNER but A LITERAL TWO TIERS ABOVE.

Literally the fact that Katie is a sinner already puts her above Moxxie.

You need more than one statement on the hierarchy of Hell being based in strength, Shion, because that is how old WoG works in this verse now. Plus, little reminder that Loona, a Hellborn, cracked Puff the Magic Dragon from Andrealbum(A member of the Ars Goetia which is above sinners in the hierarchy) and generally, Andrealphus was getting his ass beat by ******* Hellborn. Real High-tier dude above Sinners and Overlords, yah?

Maybe tell Viv to keep her goddamn hierarchy straight and there wouldn't be so many ******' problems.
 
Charlie should still scale to imps/sinners because narratively it makes no sense. She is born of 2 powerful beings, 1 who is the current god tier, she already scales her lifting to above an imp so why not everything else, and logically, making a character like Charlie and just making her not even on the level of her most weak subjects is a level of writing flaw that I can't see viv making.

To begin with, Vivzie didn't openly state that the Hierarchy was about power; at most, she compared it to a food chain, but the concept of power in the Hierarchy is something that is poorly assumed and indicated by the series.

Interestingly, one example of this is precisely the fight between the Imp and Andrealphus. Andrealphus's dragon is clearly superior to the Imp (and they would have died if it weren't for Octavia), even with access to Goetic weapons. Furthermore, he only took damage from Loona in her demonic form with piercing AP from her bite and from Octavia's magic (although he partially tanked it). Both Octavia and the Imp made it very clear that it was shameful for a Goetia like him to have trouble with Imps and a Hellhound, which he agrees with.

It doesn't mean it's exact; it can be exceeded and has its exceptions, but it's a good average.

But beyond the Hierarchy, we also have the mention of magic being possessed by stronger Demons, which is also corroborated by the series. Whether it's Roland being stronger than Millie and Blitzø, who are able to kill common Hellborns with relative ease, or the Overlords having magic as a clear characteristic in Hear My Hope.

Considering these two quotes, plus Charlie being the daughter of the God Tier of the verse and second in the Hierarchy (a victim of Alastor), it makes sense that she would at least surpass an Moxxie or Millie or Blitzø in base form.

Also, while baseless assumption scaling is bad, mine have many bases, even the above highlights that, on top of her being a hellborn, so she should have scaling at least relative to Rolando
