Like Arceus0x said, I think the issue is that it tries to tone down its hard sci-fi elements to keep people from getting completely lost, but they end up confused regardless.

I personally don't mind Sci-Fi elements on that level. It tests my understanding of physics. (Either way, Singular Point from and outsider's perspective like my own feels more like powerscaling-gargin than trying to create a story)

I thought it was ok when I initially watched, but I agree that the main plot isn’t very interesting. It’s mostly scientific jargon being poorly explained for majority of the runtime, with the most interesting elements (Jet Jaguar, Godzilla’s distortion of reality and apocalypse) being given less attention as a result. The characters aren’t the best either, as they mostly function as mouthpieces to exposit the incomprehensible technobabble, rather than as actual individuals with thoughts and feelings (maybe I’m misremembering this, but it’s still quite telling that I can’t remember anything about them).

Hiya. This is a bit off-topic. I was browsing through SpaceGodzilla's Profile, and when I looked at his speed section, it stated the following.
Doesn't seem like a big deal, but unfortunately, I can't speak or read Japanese. So I ran this image through Google Translate (I know, what a great and reliable translation software), and this is what popped up.
Aside from some of the goofy name mistranslations, it doesn't say anywhere that SpaceGodzilla is over 2,000x faster than Gigan.
I also decided to ask ChatGPT - 5.5 (It's probably more accurate than Google Translate, but I suppose it's still a corny way to translate languages), and it said the following about Gigan and Spacegodzilla
I thought that was an interesting multiplier, but when I clicked the scan, it took me to this.

The 2185x multiplier comes from comparing Mach 400 to the speed of light. Mach 400 is about 137,200 m/s, while light speed is 299,792,458 m/s. Dividing the two gives roughly a 2185x difference.Hiya. it kinda doesn't make sense. The speed is literally stated as speed of light for Space G and Mach 400 for Gigan. Using stated speeds to get the 2000x difference and then applying it to calculated speeds is ridiculous considering the calculated speeds quite literally contradict the stated ones. Either use on or the other, there shouldn't be an in-between.

It’s not really contradictory. The 2185x figure is simply the ratio between Mach 400 and light speed. The multiplier itself comes from the official stated speeds, not from the calculated values.

That's not the point man. I seriously don't get how all of you don't see the issue here. What we have here is two truths - the stated truth that they are Mach 400 and SoL, and the calculated truth - the speed we got from them travelling between stars and black holes and what not. Both are valid but you are cutting off a section of one truth and pasting it onto another truth, which is not how things go. It should be either one or the other, getting a multiplier just doesn't work here because the assumption is tha the stated speeds are wrong in the first place. If they are wrong then we shouldn't be using them period, but using them for a multiplier is very much wank.

Tone it down a bit, because you’re acting as if the scaling is somehow my fault or something. I understand your point, I just disagree with the idea that using the official ratio as a proportional comparison is automatically “wank.”
Besides SpaceGodzilla is still massively FTL+ through calculations anyway, so I don’t really see the point of bringing this up as if it changes the overall scaling.

It's not wank because we're using a ratio, it's wank because it's cherrypicking feats to make the scaling bigger. Again, you either use the stated feats, or you use the calced feats, there should be no leeway here, just one or the other as both are contradicting truths.
Is he as fast as he is with the 2000x multiplier above Gigan?

If you read the calc, Space Godzilla doesn't use the 2000x multiplier to get to MFTL+

According to Apex’s calc, SpaceGodzilla’s flight speed is only around 190,000 c.

I know about the calc, but the page says he is 2000x faster than Gigan. Gigan scales to 281 million c (...which seems to come from an unaccepted calc on the profile...) and with the multiplier it'd translate into 560 billion c instead. The Space G calc is 2 million c which is quite lower.

Ah I see what you mean. Yeah the reasoning for the speed stat is just worded awkwardly- based on the statistics value listed at the bottom of the page, Space Godzilla's speed atm is just based on his own calc. The entire 2000x Gigan statement isn't factored in the profile.
Should probably be elaborated / specified upon in a CRT imo

Both profiles primarily use calculations to support their speed statistics. The Gigan and SpaceGodzilla scan was only added as supplementary material to support SpaceGodzilla’s light speed statement.

we shouldn't have 2 different scalings on one profile in one section. Best to delete it as otherwise we get 1.2 trillion c Space G.

What escalation? There was a very wrong type of scaling and I was very much confused why people were okay with it. Since it seems to have been more so a mistake, it was fixed.

Using calculations cannot really be considered wrong scaling in this case, since that is what the profiles were already doing. To my understanding, the scan was simply being used as supportive material.

a supportive material that contradicts what we use. Either one or the other is to be used as otherwise it's just two completely opposite views in one place. My issue in the first place was even less that and more that we used it to get a multiplier that, within the context of what's being said, would end up having Space G far higher in speed.

I don't think anyone said anything too bad, those who attack argument as opposed to the people making the argument should be pretty fair game. Though I suppose it is not an unreasonable request to at least clam down a little bit. But I also agree with SomebodyData and to an extent Ztes that the way expression was given to something rather simple seemed a bit more heated then necessary.
