Invincible Season 4 General Discussion Thread

Seen it. A lot of comments getting defensive over the Show's actual animation.

Reminds me of when Mark Reymer did the Garou cut right after the episode released and OPM fans almost overdosed on the sheer cope.

Question: If we know that Season 3 Mark is 138% stronger than Season 2 Mark, why not just scale Season 2 Mark as being 138% weaker than Season 3 Mark's moon feat? That'd put Season 2 Mark at around 23.5 petatons, which fits comfortably with him being stronger than Immortal who scales above the 19.6 petaton missile.

Also, should Thula ever get a profile, her AP should probably be [Season 2 Mark's value] Physically, [Season 3 Mark's value] with blade, since we see her use it to draw blood from Thaedus and Battle Beast, plus she was confident in using it to fight pre-injury Conquest.

I mean, nothing is really stopping you from making at least a sandbox for her, and either wait for new scaling for Season 3/4 characters or just published it with the current stats

I thought that was already what he scaled to, weird. I'll add this to my ongoing crt if you don't mind?

Not at all.

Another thing worth noting:

Mark was getting walloped by Conquest until he got enraged and began fighting Conquest evenly, regardless of Conquest claiming rage power wasn't a thing, so his season 3 self should be "[56 petatons], higher with rage".

His season 4 self would, barring some other calc for season 4 people, scale to his season 3 enraged self via fighting Conquest evenly without the rage buff.

So it's:

56 petaton calc < Normal Season 3 Mark (since he did this casually) < Enraged Season 3 Mark = Conquest = Normal Season 4 Mark

I think that might be stretching it a bit. I believe rage amp Mark has already been proposed before but was rejected. I myself am also not 100% certain on this line of thinking since season 4 mark was definitely enraged when he killed conquest and even without being enraged their were several moments where season 3 mark was momentarily able to match him.

I'm not sure that rage directly increases strength, but it should be almost as important going by what the co-showrunner stated:

"We have a VERY GENERAL hierarchy of strength figured out, but it’s not super granular. And unless someone’s clearly outmatched, I personally believe emotion and grit and why you’re fighting in the first place, matter almost as much as strength. That said, we try not to have ridiculous or unbelievable outcomes."

Mark's season 1 and 2 tabber images are just this lmao

The biggest problem in the show is Thragg. They made him too strong so I don't know how they will do the Viltrumites mob lynching because if post Conquest Mark can't harm him, then how can Anissa, Kregg, Thula and Lucan.

In the comics the gap between Viltrumites was mostly in ratio to gap between humans. Like Thragg is a world champion and the rest are just novices, but can still hurt him. Now with the whole no damage thing, it would be really weird if that jumping happens, because that would mean Anissa, Kregg, Thula and Lucan > Conquest.

Also why did Conquest stand down ? First this is pre scourge virus Conquest, with both arms and eyes, and far less aged. The gap between him and Thragg couldn't be that wide. And not to mention, Conquest is a mas0chist who doesn't mind being killed in battle, so a character inconsistency too.

Maybe all of the other Viltrumites will show up to beat his ass.

Still too strong. Since Mark isn't even able to scratch him, it would realistically go like Broly vs Z Fighters in the original one. They are gonna get reverse jumped.

Unless the Viltrumites get stronger between now and then this would be difficult to ignore. There's times you can go with the vibes and times when it just seems stupid

Hundred humans VS one gorilla situation

Space Racer got nerfed. In the Comics his bike is fast enough to escape Thragg. Like literally leave Thragg behind. Here in the show random shmuck catch him so that Tech Jacket can do something.

Also didn't Nolan avoid killing space racer because of the possibility that the gun may detonate and take everyone out ? So the fodder viltrumites almost got everyone killed.

It seems like the bike has to accelerate for a bit to reach its max speed. Which is how they were able to grab it. But when it is at full speed it seems like he easily blitzes past viltrumities.

Are more profiles gonna be made? Besides the obvious ones like Thragg, Thaedus, Kregg, Space Racer, etc

What would she even scale to as well?
She does some damage to a Mark variant and forces him to admit both she and Mark are stronger than he thought. Plus puts up... somewhat of a fight against Conquest, but I think she does minimal damage and her constructs only block one attack each.

That aside, her "limiter off" power is enough to severely injure Conquest.

She also created explosions and blocked attacks from seismic could be some calcs for that on site

Actually upon reexamination Mark performed the moon jump in the midst of his training to get 138% stronger, so backscaling like that wouldn't work.

Atomic Manipulation isn't AP as much as hax though
It wasn't treated as atomic manipulation though, it was presented as a blast of pure energy. Eve's never been shown to emit or envelope an object with her powers when performing atomic manipulation either, she just forms pink constructs that are molded into what she wants them to be. I disagree with this being through pure hax.

Anyway, am I the only who's baffled there's been barely any consensus regarding the 3 main feats of this season ?

Come on people, give ideas

Ngl besides the Viltrum statement (and even that) this is pretty lukewarm. Is there any chance Ottley/Kirkman does an AMA ever again ?

that's not me, I only posted one

this was mine
Femboy and furry, holy...

jk

Looking back, the comic version had Thragg just stating that 37 Viltrumites was enough to tear the planet in half, while the show has him state that 37 is more than enough to tear the planet in half, which should get slightly higher results, as it suggests that the feat could still be performed by less than 37. I guess dividing by 36 would be the lowball assumption in this case.
I mean, the comic statement also adds "Some of us severely injured" so I feel it evens out. imo it'd be really stretching to treat one statement as that much superior to the other
