The Revenant Marvel Comics Discussion Thread

Quick question: how is this ability classified (besides light manipulation, of course)? It somehow cuts off the electricity in Chinatown.

What is even going on in Marvel? Khonshu and MK can move Mjolnir because it part moon or something. Mjolnir itself refuses to attack BP. Where's Thor?! What is going on?!
the weirdest part about it is, unless I’m mistaken, controlling moon rock isn’t one of moon knight’s powers, so why is it suddenly one of his powers when it lets him control mjolnir

Cuz is Khonshu is give MK the capacity plus he wasnt amped by other people powers iirc?
Eh, Konshu granting him the ability to do it still feels kind of weird since konshu’s never displayed that power before either I think, not that it doesn’t make sense it’s just really weird to make two new things(mjolnir being moon rock and Konshu/moon knight have the power to manipulate moon rock) to let a character do an action

God Butcher is genuinely one of the best Thor stories in the character's history. Aaron did do some cool stuff with Jane as well that I appreciated (she was kind of annoying and useless before 2014 and now she's awesome), but the whole Gorr arc was easily his best work.

My four favorite Thor arcs are (in no particular order): God Butcher, The Reigning, Immortal Thor, and Simonson's original run. All fantastic.

My favorites:
  • Surtur Saga
  • Ragnarok (The one with TWSAIS, there's like 10 arcs about Ragnarok)
  • The Seth arc from the beginning of DeFalco's run
  • God Butcher

Well, Aaron also did a nice story with Thor doing lots of IRL-style altruistic work, turned Jane Foster into a much better character, created a "great" (morally reprehensible, but you know what I mean) new villain in Dario Agger, and also portrayed Thor as quite powerful, but I wasn't at all a fan of the prolonged "unworthy" storyline, "War of the Realms", or that Thor was portrayed as much weaker than the Hulk during most of his run. 🙏

Dario Ager is a pretty cool villain. I liked him a lot in Al Ewing's run especially.

Yeah, there's give and take for sure

Question: What does Spider-Man's AP scale to?
The profile says Large building level, but it links to Venom and Carnage, who have Large building level+

I'm finishing my Lightmaster overhaul, but I need the exact number

Spider man beat up red goblin, what’s the problem with him being large building level+

Spider man scales to his durability, his profile just doesn’t do a great job at making that clear

The Lightmaster overhaul is complete, check it out
(I have to go to sleep, I'll check it later)

Does anyone know who makes these wack ass "[Comic character] overrated" imgur posts? They're always full of out of context or disingenuous images that are treated as fact. I remember seeing the Spider-Man one that argued for Wolverine being stronger than Spider-Man and one of the examples was that Peter hurt his fingers when he jokingly knocked on Logan's skull. Or how like half of the images in the Ghost Rider one was Robbie Reyes instead of Johnny Blaze.

Even the Galactus one I posted has pages that are either outright wrong or don't show what is being claimed.

comicvine comic downplayers. It started there then moved to SB and other sites.

It’s genuinely insane how bad the downplay is. By the end of that Galactus album it’s unironically arguing that Galactus can be beaten by The Thing.

Edit: Damn, Reddit really is a hivemind. A guy posts objectively false information and he gets upvotes but when I debunk them I get downvoted to Hell.

I personally think that there are lots of valid anti-feats within those scans and that we have enormously overestimated how a lot of Marvel Comics characters are almost consistently displayed within stories in terms of power levels. 🙏

Okay, but that doesn't justify us going too far in the other direction. 🙏

ant the one who makes those are massive comic downplayers with agenda they are not reliable trusted.
Also I'm like 80% sure it's the same guy who keeps making alt accounts because--without fail--every time I see someone use these albums they always do the same strategy of making up bullshit claims and then blocking anyone who argues against them. And because of how blocking works on Reddit it means that you can't counter their points anymore.

Dude, you can't genuinely think someone who uses this image as an argument for The Thing being stronger than Galactus is operating in good faith.

No, I do not, but many of the scans together certainly create a pattern to severely debunk our 1-A Galactus rating as being ridiculously exaggerated in the other direction. 🙏
