Introduction

Not too many big changes today. Since we're still working on the latest games new additions and key, we figured we might as well get some things fixed in the mean time.

Additions

Removals

  • Madness Manipulation (Type 3) from Sirens, since just using one's voice to induce madness doesn't seem to fit with it being Cognition based. They would thus just keep Types 1 and 2.

Agree: 8 (DarkDragonMedeus, LephyrTheRevanchist, Theglassman12, Random-Helper323, KLOL506, Eseseso, Pepsimanlover, chosen, DaReaperMan)

Disagree: 1 (Thermor (Freya resisting Madness Manipulation (Type 3))

Neutral:

Late to the party but yeah, this checks out.

Wait, why would Freya gain the resistance? Gondul's madness manip specifically drove men mad not women.

That kind of quote typically isn't a gendered thing so much as referring to people as a whole. At least one other verse has a quote about something warping the minds of men, but it also features a whole bunch of women who've been horrifically warped by the exact same thing.

Well Gondul's madness manip relies on her beauty, not direct mind manipulation (assuming the verse you are talking about).

Type 3 Madness Manip relies on a state of being. Something that triggers based on the nature of the person or how they look. Beauty absolutely qualifies here.

Direct Mind Manip Madness, which involves using your powers on someone else actively instead of passively, is Type 2 Madness Manip.

Not only that, Gondul was barred from Valhalla, and Valhalla isn't exactly restricted to men alone. All who die honorably in battle are welcomed here, regardless of gender.

I'm not debunking MM3, I just disagree on Freya resisting it. The scan directly says her beauty cause men to go mad, we cant be using other verses as examples as they provided more context. Women existing in Valhala doesn't support it can effect them either as directly says men.

"Men" is used very regularly to just refer to mortals generally in verse by Mimir, multiple times.

Still, you seem set on it, so I will just add you to disagree.

The word "men" historically is used to refer to all human beings.

The whole issue behind this "men" thing is just needless semantics and pedantry if you ask me.

By this logic, the whole "Every god, man and beast came from Ymir" line would just imply all women just somehow existed before Ymir and are Acausal. See how idiotic that sounds?

That line is used to include multiple beings, man being mortals, while we dont have the same for Gondul's madness. There's lack of evidence to believe her madness can override sexuality by default. Also you correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Midgard also contain non-mortals? A bit strange that mimir never mentioned them as man in GoW is usually referred for mortals, men seems pretty different considering the current context.

Like I said, needless semantics and pedantry. But we'll just agree to disagree.

OK, now this is pure pedantry. It seems like you have a conclusion on this and are just scrambling backwards for a reason to disagree with it.

2 days have passed so I will apply this CRT.
