5-B Planet Tiersetter Tournament (16/16) FINISHED

Welcome, one and all, to the (actual) next tournament I have started!

I got commissioned to make this. As always, unlike my last tournament, I will not abandon this one, hopefully.

The Tiersetter

Instead of giving stat ranges, arbitrarily listing hax that isn't allowed, or trying to eyeball which profiles to disqualify, matches are usually made fair by listing a character which each submission has to have a chance of losing to. If a character is initially argued as risking a loss to the tiersetter, but is later reasoned to be stronger in a way that'd have them consistently beat the tiersetter, they will be disqualified from the tournament.
This time, said character has to lose to the tiersetter by at least 51% across multiple matches run.
In this case, the mage Khadgar (Guardian of Tirisfal) will be our tiersetter for this tournament.

How does he fight?
Khadgar is by definition a mage with poor physicals. Despite this, he isn't a slouch at melee combat by mortal terms, but he's mostly better with magic. He mainly focuses on barriers and trying not to get hit by any attacks, while dishing out any magic appropriate for the fight. While he certainly favours his often used abilities, he is also subject to using any magic in his PnA should the situation call for it.

Criteria

Your selected character will be matched against Khadgar. The criteria where your selected character will be accepted, among others not concerning the tiersetter is:
  • Your character must lose to Khadgar at least 51% of the time (from running multiple matches against him) under Standard Battle Assumptions (SBA)
  • The chance of losing must be legitimate; this would include valid wincons outlined (death, incapacitation), and should not be reliant on obscure interpretations or random mechanics (e.g., coin flips, wildly variable probability effects)
  • Your character must be permitted by le Versus Thread Rules.
    • Don't just vandalise the page of your intended character just so it can fit this tournament. I will personally make sure to verify whether the changed made to said profiles are genuine or not. Any profiles and users found breaking this rule will be reported swiftly and without EXCEPTION
  • Priority will be given to characters from differing users and verses to promote variety in participants
  • Tier 5-B characters are encouraged, but characters from any other tier can be submitted, since combatants are selected based on whether they can lose to the tiersetter or not
  • Maximum one submission per user. Backups are not subject to this rule, but selection is.
  • Only 16 characters that fit the criteria are chosen. Any further submissions will be backup instead (unless requested to be placed in backup while 16 slots aren't filled yet).
  • No FC/OC characters, no joke characters, no characters you thought of in your brain that isn't in the VSBW Wiki, no exceptions. There's a reason this tourney isn't posted in FC/OC or Joke Battle threads. I WILL PURPOSEFULLY IGNORE ANY SUBMISSIONS THAT HAVE THEIR PROFILES LINKED TO ANY NON-VSBW WIKIS.

Match Information

Note: The information disclosed also applies to the initial tiersetter match against Khadgar.
Arena

  • Via SBA, Central Park.
1920px-Global_Citizen_Festival_Central_Park_New_York_City_from_NYonAir_%2815351915006%29.jpg

  • Starting Distance will be based on SBA.
Match Conditions
  • Speed is equalized by default, but may remain unequalized if one character can mitigate the speed gap (e.g., through passives, resistances, durability advantages, etc.).
  • Matches will use SBA unless specified otherwise.
  • Rules are subject to changes on a per-match basis to make them fairer or more interesting
  • Wincon is via incapacitation or death
  • Combatants are allowed to magically view the other previous matches in-universe, except for the initial tiersetter match (hence, this only becomes effective from the quarter-finals onwards)
    • Now that the preliminary matches are over, this is now effective. Khadgar's matches are still unviewable.
Match Rules
  • 3 days (now 2 days) are given to both participating users to debate. Regardless of circumstances, I will decree the outcome of the match after the 3 days (2 days) for the sake of the tourney's pacing. While they may/may not be added to the profiles, further votes can be given so that these matches are eligible to be added to the respective character's profiles
    • An exception can be made should the participating user notify everyone in this thread that they'd be inactive for a bit or some other situation. A further 1 day will be given for such exception
    • If you no longer have any reason or motivation to continue participating in this tournament, notify in the thread to have your combatant removed (and depending on the tourney time, a replacement can be issued)
  • Inconclusive matches are also subject to the above rule, but I will issue a coin flip to decide who advances (unless the votes have a 3-4 vote difference, at which it is completely subject to the first rule instead)
Special Message from Dareaperman
Keep in mind people, I will be watching every thread. I will make a post for anyone to quote if they want to go "Hey this doesn't seem like it'll be beaten by the Tiersetter"

Are we limited to just VS Wiki characters, or are we allowed to use FC/OC characters?

Edit: Now that I’m really reading through this guys stuff maybe this isn’t as good of an idea as I originally thought…

Deathwing as the Aspect of Death!

(Though, he can be a backup)

World Shaman key.

...I'm the Warcraft guy, I can say who Khadgar does and does not beat. Of the people I am willing to put into this tournament, Thrall is the closest to beating him... But he's still out-statted and out-gunned.

That is Khadgar, he has a wall of low hax stuff but he's extremely versatile
Maybe Divine Throne/Power of Death boost Mavuika?
Okay but... does she lose? I know Genshin gets nutty.

Also 95% sure she's going flat 5-B since Archons being 5-B solid is planned to happen.

Like Reaps said, Genshin can get nutty, and iirc Ley Lines aren't combat applicable (?). Khadgar does look like he can beat Mavuika most of the time, but someone can correct me on that.

Ong? Didn't know that
So Genshin archons be getting 5-B baseline? Works, but baselines can struggle in combat if they're outstatted

Deathwing is in backup, while Thrall is in.

So you're telling me behind that wall of resistances, he can't resist that?
I think you don't realize how ballfuckingly massive 100 million Celcius actually is. That is nearly 4x the heat of Lightsabers in Star Wars Legends and over 6x the CORE OF THE SUN.

Guess where Khadgar's best defenses against heat are at? 15 million Celcius. AKA, the core of the Sun.

Wouldn't Khadgar outjesusuinely skillfuck shadow? Shadow doesn't resist half of his shit either.

Fine uhhhh... Supes is boring... hulk is just hulk... Sonic is just shadow but just stupid... Luffy... nahhh... Ivan... nahhh... one of the iron mans... nahhh...
Supes is my pick I guess. God I wanted sonic or shadow tho.

As I've said, you can actually pick any tier as long as you lose to Khadgar 51% of the time.
One more question: You sure you picking Soup?

Like I can't stress this enough: Khadgar is not some high hax that lets a free-for-all happen on all the wacky shit you want, he is a generally low hax mage with a **** ton of versatility, creativity, and is pretty hard to pin down unless you just hard counter him.

A character like Shadow who can one-shot with heat and has far better teleportation just wins. Yeah he lets you get away with quite a bit with his resistances and ability to say no to magic, but you still have to be like, in mortal realms in order for him to not get stomped by someone he doesn't just open with an Arcane Blast and one-shots.

Plus, Sonadow's heat is just so mindboggling high that I can't add them in here.
I have problems finding matches for Ragnaros where he doesn't exist and gib the opponent, and Shadow is over 6x as bad when attacking.

@DaReaperMan, would he work?

I nominate Ultimate Form Kuuga but if Kuuga a bit much, my backup is Kamen Rider OOO (The Bond of Allies, the End of the World, and the Greed Towards Tomorrow) but if that's also too much, we go back a key on OOO.
I checked them both, and surprisingly, Khadgar doesn't resist any of their real ass abilities (Kuuga's matter manip & OOO's void manip to be exact). Not to mention, OOO might be one of the most versatile characters in vsbw, so personally they'd clear him more often than not.
Although, reaps know him more than I do, so it's on him this time round.

He must lose a match to Khadgar, so... you tell me.

If he had his regen restricted to low-mid, yeah probably, but first step is you saying Adam would actually lose something.

Need verification, reaps

Arcane blast opener.

From a Tournament standpoint, both are immediately hell nos, but Khadgar sniping them from SBA distance could probably happen...

And as someone who's debated against OOO before, whatever key fought Galakrond should be fine.

Kuuga's a problem due to his planetary range, and from the fact that he can matter manip through any barrier and whatnot. I'd say no tbh.

OOO is added then (he fought galakhrond in his EoS key)
