Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

hot take:i think infinite>solaris
That statement is in a weird limbo spot where it can be a hot take in some circles and a cold take in others.

Here it absolutely is a hot take, since most of us don't buy it, but all the power to you.
Personally speaking I don’t count Super form stuff for those statements since the Chaos Emeralds have zero relevance to the story in Forces (and Infinite himself only fights base Sonic and the Avatar), but I do count Void since he’s a base Sonic enemy.

That doesn’t necessarily mean I want to scale Infinite to 5-D, just that I think Infinite is narratively above any pre-Forces base Sonic enemy which happens to include Void. You could also technically count Wizeman as well if you consider that one Lost World DLC.

(To clarify, I’m not against Tier 1 base cast on principle or anything, I just think more consistency is needed)

One ******* intern writing a PR commercial text for Forces makes T1 base Sonic cast lmao
Tbf there’s more than that in the game itself, though I don’t remember if there’s anything in-game that implies all villains or just Eggman-related stuff. Still tier 1 when taken to the extreme, though stuff like Void might not count when just doing basenic.

Don't fall for their Tier 1 Basenic propaganda, Ghengiroo. It corrupts you, betrays you, and TRAPS you in the Time Chamber.
In this case, White Space*

You think people in Reddit read the source of claims? Cute.
... alright that's fair lol.
Ain’t no way
Yeah, it isn't uncommon to see somebody harp on VSBW for using the statement which always leaves me a bit confused.
Reading comprehension on all sites are pretty bad
True! Across 4chan, Reddit, Vs Battles, ComicVine, etc., I'm sure only about 30 people actually do any reading (and I'm not one of them)

Out of curiosity, but why is Modern Sonic's intelligence being rated as "genius normally"?

Not that I mind it. I like to think he's secretly second only to the likes of Tails and Ivo (who are on a league of their own).
To avoid my message losing itself to the End of the World....

I would like some clarification on another topic: Sonic's indomitable will.
Is it some kind of "higher degree" of Supernatural Willpower? Could Morality hax work on it?

Writing from mobile is hell.

Does ts affect anything in the verse
Looked through the relevant posts of the thread; probably not.

IIRC Maginaryworld is the only relevant cosmological aspect this thread would be relevant towards since it's talking about spatial axes and infinities.

Quick Question, Did someone tried to scale humans in sonic series?, given they survived station square and Central City distruction, and while you could argue they probably escaped from it how fast do they escaped?.

I'd assume it isn't supernatural, but there's possibly evidence pointing towards otherwise.

I think a common sight on other sites is people agreeing with Sonic characters growing over time, but mostly agreeing with this to nerf anyone besides Sonic Shadow and maybe Metal. Like, those characters don't actually upscale anything relevant from the past but it's useful to say Knuckles and others just don't scale to characters in that way.

I clapped at the reference

I don't think any Supernatural Willpower would be a "higher degree" of it, with a few exceptions (for example, a character in a random verse having Supernatural Will but then getting an enhanced level of Supernatural Willpower that stems from some dimension that is R>F is just one bogus example).

In reality, Supernatural Willpower is based primarily on feats. You need feats of what your Supernatural Willpower does.
Could Morality hax work on it?
This is too broad of a question to apply to ALL Supernatural Willed characters, but for Sonic specifically? The answer is yes, because he has the feats to prove his morality is unaffected.

ENG Version: "You're the reason you haven't changed at all. You're too strong to lose yourself! ... You never give in to the night, or the darkness inside your heart!"

JP Version: "The only thing that keeps you the same is the strength of your own heart! ... Your mind never gives in to the temptations of night and darkness."

Frontiers' entire plot is another good example because of just how bad Cyber Corruption's afflictions really are, as well as a telepath (The End) confirming Sonic "never doubted [him]self" despite all the obstacles he faced. In a Vs setting, it would basically mean Sonic has full confidence in himself and won't waste time in second-guessing his odds (thus, for example, hax that works off of a character's doubts would be ineffective against Sonic).

That sort of minor stuff is really overlooked when it comes to Supernatural Willpower.
