Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

What's everyone's favorite aspect of Sonic scaling? Mine are how OP is his AD and the fact that he resists like 10+ types of EE.
My Favorite Aspect is how every character is bordering on unmatchable so I don't have to deal with Sonic ever.

Except in extreme cases like Darth Marr handing Knux's ass to him

If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, how exactly do we get to the Sextillion range?
It took me some time, but I found it. Right side.
This seems to be roughly where our Sextillions x FTL scaling turned into Infinite Speed starting from Secret Rings.

With the 2 CRTs being proposed for the verse's speed, Infinite Speed Base Sonic would begin with Frontiers due to the statement upscaling him from the Paradox Prism feat and Null Space.
  • Paradox Sonic being physically present in two locations at once to high-five himself with an audible clap of their hands means that it's unironically an Infinite Speed feat.
  • Sonic and Rookie Double Boosting through Null Space would also be an Infinite Speed feat.

Plus the universe would be 6 times as large as the regular universe.
In volume at least not diameter. If I were to spitball it the diameter might only be like 20-30% greater if the sphere volume (the shape of the observable universe) went up six times.

That is if we stick with each of the universes made by the Paradox Prism being the same size as our universe while the prime universe is six times larger than our universe, rather than the reverse case of the universes made by the Paradox Prism being six times smaller than our universe while the prime universe is the one that's assumed to be the same size as our universe.

I have some reservations on the sextillions c scaling but I might save that to be in tandem with the infinite speed thread
Alright, you're starting to annoy me now.

One (now two) threads regarding speed feats in the verse is fine because most of us agreed, but rattling on about how you want to do more and more and more WHILE THE VERSE IS GOING THROUGH SEVERE SCAN PROBLEMS is actually downright disrespectful to me. You somehow don't have the time to help despite my pleading for extra hands, but you DO have time to start attempting a bunch of downgrades based on Redditors giving your feelings boo-boos?

How about actually helping me to put the verse back in working order instead of lining up a damn agenda for how to INCREASE the work that needs to be done? That is a legitimate slap to my face and I am not going to lift a finger to help you edit a single one of these pages. **** that.

I really like that the Spin Dash, Boost, and Cyber Corruption stuff has enough content and users to have proper pages for each of them.

Other than that, I feel there is a surprisingly consistent power progression of scalable feats from Classic (Planet-destroying statements) to Adventure (Galactic - Universal range) to Modern (Universal - Multiversal). Obviously this is a bit muddied with stuff like Generations, but yeah.

Rings. I like how rings have the mechanics to be used in technology and stuff, that's a really innovative part of the power system that barely gets recognition but I love that shit.

Also, Frontiers Sonic should upscale from the Double Boost given the statements of "him moving faster then ever before"- which would make it so that he'd have to upscale from that in some shape or form. Givne that 1/2 of Infinity is still, well, infinity, and he's above himself that've managed to do that same feat (alongside the Rookie).

I’m sorry, it’s not done out of spite, it’s just me having some reservations about how the boost multipliers are applied (mainly the double and triple boost and Frontiers Sonic upscaling them) and some of the feats. I haven’t had a lot of time recently because I’m still job hunting. I wouldn’t try to do it until after the scan reclamation project is done.

won't this be possible without infinite speed?
Through hax like duplication, which there is no indication Prism Sonic is capable of.

Afterimages would be the only reasonable explanation... except Afterimages aren't able to physically interact with you. So, ironically, the most reasonable explanation with the most explanatory power is Infinite Speed. Hell, even some staff that dislike Sonic mentioned that it's an Infinite Speed feat taken literally.

Actually that is a good point.

Since Sonic already has high speed into MFTL, I think taking the infinite speed rating would be fair. Also, wouldn't the "moving faster then ever before" statements also apply to Generation Sonic's 'accelerating through erased time'? Thus upscale starting from Sonic Lost World & Onwards?

But you’re also right, I should find time to help.

Your issue is (iirc) that you don't agree with how the Boost multipliers stack and think they should instead be an additive stack rather than a multiplicative one. I remember.

Frontiers Sonic upscaling from them is the most blatant part of that entire portion of the scaling tbh.

Whatever man, honestly, just whatever at this point. I can't even enjoy my days off from work anymore because said days off are occupied with trying to sort the scan issues, so expect to wait another year for that.

I am getting very annoyed at this line of conversation so I am going to stop talking about this. Good luck with job hunting, I know you've been doing that for a while.

Oh, and also, I apologize for being rude to you. My temper got the better of me.

Even though I'm not involved in this small conversation, I also apologize, Shake. I'll take my shot at the scan restoration project, I've been sick for a while but I think I can find some things of value.

The problem with that is that it Sonic's Immeasurable Speed raying was dependent on a state of existence rather than Sonic himself. In other words, Sonic was capable of doing an Immeasurable Speed feat because he was in a realm of erased space-time and could thus restore it with his motion/speed.

It very much deals with semantics though, as technically speaking what Sonic did is still indeed Immeasurable Speed, but it's also something a bit out of the normal realm of his capabilities solely because it's how his speed responds to erased space-time.

You could definitely argue it's just plain Immeasurable Speed for off-site agenda I guess

Nah man, I can't in good conscience start ordering people like a dictator and force them to help my revision. And I don't aim to make anybody feel guilty. This is a hobby; my main issue is simply that the Imgur Rescan project is being trivialized and forgotten about, when there truly is nothing more important than this as of right now.

The blame doesn't fall on anybody except imgur for being douchebags and banning me without reason or warning.

Doesn't White Space technically work on an "hypertime"? Wouldn't this mean that Sonic was accelerating through the second temporal axis? I'm a bit confused.

I understand, I was gonna actually think of suggesting the idea as a CRT to just make it plain immeasurable speed. Since the interpretation of the erased space-time's "augmenting" his speed would still be beneath Sonic in terms of "moving faster then ever before"- since it is an all-encompassing terminology. It is semantics based, but I think the most general interpretation of it, which is already kind of accepted in the form of "stronger then anything before" for Eggman's machines (though that is way more logical to work off of, Eggman amps his machines daily)- I think Sonic's immeasurable speed one would fit

Ah, the second temporal axis is where the Time Eater is fought by the Super Sonics (which is called the End of Time going by game guides). The Super Sonics/Time Eater are the ones physically accelerating through the second temporal axis.

What the Base Sonics are doing is restoring portions (and then more and more) of the first temporal axis that Time Eater erased.

I also have a planned CTR that I was going to wait for, but given the recent CTRs, if I don't hurry I'll probably make some people work twice.

Aside from that, my focus is mostly on fixing the mess that is Danganronpa on the wiki (+Autism +job search +university +courses), so I can try to help with the scans later, but I'm nowhere near being able to contribute much.

Oh yeah. Part 2 of the DC x Sonic crossover was announced.

My god yesss! I'm looking forward to the Lex and Eggman team-up. That glorious mess will be less partnership and more two ego black holes colliding and I'm here for every minute of it.

That's appreciated, but your messages will probably be forgotten to time if you use the Sonic General.

If anybody is serious about wanting to contribute, this would be the thread to say it on. It doesn't matter if you do one singular page and never do anything else, literally any amount of help is appreciated. Just don't say you'll do something and then not do it, I would rather you not help at all (and I say this to everyone).

Sorry but the former is already accepted.

I know, I'm just saying that for if it ever gets changed one day in the decently far future. Far future because there are already a lot of revisions happening at the moment to say the least.
