Summary:
  • The Archetypes are different from the outer gods.
  • Archetypes > Other Gods
  • The Ultimate Abyss is not the Ultimate Chaos
The changes that come from this blog should not be applied yet, as it serves as a ground for a future thread.
(Small nitpick, but what image is used for the cosmology page? Pretty sure it covers things that aren't a part of the cosmology.)

It's from the Call of Cthulhu RPG iirc, it should probably be changed since were not supposed use stuff outside of HPL's works/letters and occasionally circle member stories

It is a bit complicated right now, for me at least, as I have a different interpretation of the cosmology than whats currently agreed upon, which I will address in a more future blog(if this thread gets accepted first beforehand). I can't really give a tier for it than.

You should probably mention that you don’t want to apply changes in the OP, cuz as it stands Azathoth is gonna go down to like Low 1-C or even lower
 
I would also like to get a summary of the comparative cosmological changes and intended endgame tiering based on this. 🙏

A new cosmology will come soon, this just serves as a ground for it. The main changes just come in that Azathoth and the other gods getting downgraded cosmologically to the lower gates while the archetypes remain at top.

Not trying to be rude or anything. What intentions am I hiding? I said to Nova in this thread the purpose of it, to you as well. I hid it because the thread is on a change in the inverse, not in cosmology or the recent revision. Either way, I don't think changes should be applied yet, as my vision of the cosmology is incompatible with the currently accepted cosmology.
 
I wanted to add on with the fact that even if tom wanted to give them a tier based on current cosmo it will be impossible as in the current cosmo the dreamlands (as an example) are consider beyond the first gate which is not true, this is why me and tom are going then to make a new cosmology blog to explain everything but FIRST we need to have the inverse accepted, like tom said this Is merely a ground for It. 🙏🏻

The grounds will be unearthed in the future, including remarks on the revision. Sadly, this thread focuses on what place Azathoth holds in the cosmology.

Yes but how does this prevent you from stating what your goals are in the hypothetical that this CRT gets accepted. If you don’t have any goals to begin with then sure but otherwise it seems really weird.

I mean... the goal Is pretty clear? Aka making a new cosmology thread but there would be problems if we drop that and randomly claiming that azathoth is not an archetype and cosmology wise he Is below the First gate so😖

Ye, this Is why tom mentioned that the changes should not be applied yet cuz tiers and stuff like that Will be given in the thread for the cosmology.
If we had the time we would have dropped both the inverse and the new cosmo in One thread but Simply It aint possible.

I just find the prospect of not being clear on your tiers strange, since it’s not like any of this stuff can’t be reverted at a moments notice.
 
Hmm. I am obviously reluctant to help out a revision that wants to set up almost reversing another one that we just finished, and that was so reliable that even Ultima supported it, if I remember correctly. 🙏

I mean, I doubt Ultima would agree with any big upgrades anyhow since he’s a pretty avid reader of this verse in question, and he woulda pointed any major problems out in the previous thread. Nevertheless, this thread specifically isn’t for High 1-A I guess

So let's ping Ultima so that Tom me and him can talk about this, after all he should be interested in this thread if he's an avid reader of the verse, opinions can always change, especially with a complex verse like CM, he's already aware of this thread anyway, and it's just right as I remember correctly that he was the one who proposed the archetype = other gods back then.
