My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

He said that calc specifically. The feat is there, no way we are just gonna let go of the best speed feat in the series.

Personally I'm not against FTL MHA only cause pretty much every other verse gets FTL scaling for very dubious reasons.
At the end of the day, if everyone is getting FTL based on outliers, MHA might as well get it as well.

But in general, the only times I usually believe that a character is FTL is when the author goes out of his way to explain why and how e.g. Shinra and Sho in Fire Force.

Isn't Shinra explicitly at Light speed because going FTL means time travelling ? Also this profile has him kicking away a light speed attack "effortlessly" when he literally states in the same panel that it took countless retry to make it.

Not sure what you mean but when he said it took him multiple reversals of time to achieve, he was referring to creating a civilization and not kicking a ball. The latter makes no sense.

I didn't really do calcs that much back then, so it's good to know that what I said earlier is already taken into account in the calc page as Rusty pointed out.

We're kinda cooked if we'll have to rely on an anime-only feat, although with the storm dispersion feat resulting to a downgrade instead, I can at least understand wanting good results from other feats considering the effort to canonize the final season. Though I've already said before that we were just as likely to get anti-feats instead.

If it's outside the wiki? Sure. MHA tends to be downplayed already, and the only true rule in battleboarding is a good argument.
But personally, I'd rather MHA be better than the other verses in the wiki. Accuracy and consistency puts MHA above any other verses chasing high numbers for the sake of it. I like it when I look at verses and I don't mistake the profiles as a rendition of Invisible Dragon.

On this, I agree. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Like how ds reached Rela through sheer multipliers 😭

And jjk also being rela makes sense with the EM waves but even thats a little contentious

Lol JJK got scaled to rela+ despite the speed of sound being a huge barrier in the verse for even top tiers

Do I think Hori intends his characters to be FTL? No, but if every other verse wanks their characters why can’t we

rela JJK is getting nuked soon
Where and how

atp i might have to pull out that multiplier diff between 45-100% of OFA using that statement in the manga that if deku used faux 100% (which just recreates 100% of OFA) he would reach the flying fortress instantly presumably from the island to the floating fortress and not from where he is currently
I hope you realize 45% and 100% have the same speed value. You’re better off finding evidence for the lasers being real for the other all might feat

Funfact: No they dont the manga has actually shown a clear distinction of speed between 45 and 100% of OFA

100% of OFA (or when its recreated with faux 100%) is treated as a MASSIVE speed boost from 45% not just the raw linear 2.2x that people tend to believe

Yeah it’s blatantly clear that there’s a massive speed difference. The issue is that we have nothing to quantify with a speed value. The wiki doesn’t accept 2.2x either.

yea we do and its using the instant travel to the flying fortress statement from where izuku is currently

all I need to quantify the speed diff is js how long it took deku to get there originally which i can probably quantify using the manga and counting how many chapters it took for izuku to get there and saying each panel is 1 second of time

Thats the thing bro. We’re not allowed to get a multiplier off of that.

You can get more obvious or stated multipliers and itll still get scrutinized to hell. Let alone the way you’re trying to get one from here.
Well obviously anything would be scrutinized on this wiki since it wants to be accurate but im telling ya its quite easy to quantify the speed diff with that statement

Ok i read the mutliplier page specifically the regulations part and the only thing I read that can be an issue is proving its consistent

(although im not really seeing anything about calcing a speed diff unless I missed smth that says it HAS to be stated)

You clearly didn't.

"As such several guidelines are in place, which regulate multiplier use:

Multipliers come from direct statements instead of being reasoned from something else. That means, for example, that if a verse has powerlevels or statistics, the doubling of a statistic or power level should not be concluded to correspond to the power of the character doubling, unless it is clearly specified to work that way."

You're reasoning for the multiplier isn't a statement. You're reasoning it from something else.

Two wrongs don't make a right. If other verses are being rated inaccurately, it would be better to remove those inaccuracies.
Sounds like:
Foreshadowing is a literary device where an author gives hints or clues about events that will happen later in the story. It creates suspense and tension to keep readers engaged and prepares them for future plot developments. These hints can be subtle or obvious, and are often only fully recognized in retrospect after the later event has occurred

Oh yea that part i did think originally it wasnt required

but my brains a little mushed so i probably misread

eh oh well i guess its back to proving flect turns lasers are SoL so i can calc an ftl feat for mha

FTL mha will happen idc

Blatantly goes against the narrative. Might as well make everyone in the verse relativistic to ftl. Call anything below that an outlier and your wank is chilling
"Wank" 💀

rody clearly isnt a normal human

If thats all you got for contention ill take that as a green light to go
