My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

I have three combos -

Overclock + Twin Impact + Strongarm (Rappa's quirk) - Rappa already punches 100's of times in less than a second, amplified by Overclock I can do thousands of punches,. Then you get hit with another thousands of stronger punches. This allows me to cheese anyone even with high durability as once I land a punch (which is easy when you are moving at super speed) I can essentially remove the drawback of Overclock and Strongarm with Twin impact.

I punch you thousands of times-> Activate twin impact -> Take a breather to refill my stamina while you are getting hit with Twin impact -> Repeat.

Shock Absorption + Energy Suck + Wave motion - Nejire's power out can be significantly amped by absorbing life force with energy suck. To negate risk of have to touch the opponent I put shock absorption to tank any blows.

Amplivolt + Electrification + Flight (Captain Celebrity) - Basically a knock off Shazam. Flight, super strength and durability with barriers. Electrification provides power, amplivolt makes it much stronger. Amplivolt makes me immune to the backlash Kaminari gets.

There’s also the interesting combination of Dark Shadow, Black, and the girl from the first novel, Yuka.

Dark Shadow gives me what is basically a Punch Shadow boosted by darkness, Black allows me and my Punch Shadow to fuse into anything dark, and because my Punch Shadow is tied to me, it’s effectively long range, and Yuka’s Quirk does similar (fading into darkness) but also has an extra niche (controlling stuff in darkness) which means I can effectively alter my own limited range by making the conditions of darkness alter to my whims, further bolstering my Punch Shadow and my ability to interface with darkness.

Also, gives me the power to fly. So I have control both in the ground and in the air.

Also as for the 3 quirk combo

All For One, Shigaraki's Regeneration, and Gearshift

My plan is basically imma blitz yall and steal yall quirks and even if u try to kill me imma regen that shi

Hello :sneaky:

Can you please elaborate on why it is calc stacking??

I have gone through the calc stacking rules and it still looks like I'm not violating any rules........
maybe calc stacking isnt the exactly right word for it, but basically saying that Shigaraki is light speed there and using it to calc deku's speed is wrong

So this is the calc yeah? Well there’s an issue I see that is getting overlooked that makes it higher?

Meters per Pixel (MpP): 2.2 / 1464 = 0.00150273224044m

Distance Between AM & The Radio Wave(1/Regular): 42 x 0.0150273224044 = 0.631147540985m

They messed up and made the meters per pixel .015 instead of .0015.

That makes the accepted end actually 10x higher. So it should be 14c for ftl+

Meters per Pixel (MpP): 2.2 / 1464 = 0.00150273224044m

Distance Between AM & The Radio Wave (Before Dodge): 42 x 0.00150273224044 = 0.0631147540985m

Distance Between AM & The Radio Wave (After Dodge): 62 x 0.00150273224044 = 0.0931693989073m

Formula: S = D/T

Distance:
0.0931693989073m

Time: 0.0631147540985 / 299792458 = 2.10528158445e-10s

Speed:
0.0931693989073 / 2.10528158445e-10 = 442550771.334 m/s

1.476c

Ye never mind, it’s the same mistake on the second distance so result is the same. Just looked off to me.

The distance between All Might and the beam definitely looks off to me. Rewatching the feat, and it already looks like the beam is partly passed All Might's position suggesting All For One narrowly missed him.

He definitely didn’t miss, All Might’s not exactly a hard to hit target.

Framing of the scene is that All Might is running at AFO, AFO fires. AM notices the attack in front of him, and then dodges/angles his body to his left and narrowly avoids it. There’s even an impact frame to show he dodged immediately cause it was gonna hit him.

I do think he was trying to dodge a bit beforehand? Before the radio waves were right in his face? But that might also just be because he was running so his body is in an odd position. You can see his left shoulder is closer to the camera, so it’s almost like he’s mid way through jerking backwards.

yall talking about my calc?
Ye, you forgot a 0 on your distances when multiplying by 42 and 62.

And also just me trying to math out the distance from AM to the blast cause maybe there’s a better way. And his body being in a weird position cause he’s kinda mid dodge or mid run when his face pulls away from the screen and his eyes widen at the attack right in front of him.

If yall could combine any 3 quirks to make an elite combo which would it be? I don’t mean just choosing 3 broken ones like new order and overhaul, I mean quirks that when combined are broken

I’m choosing Strongarm, Overclock, and Fa Jin. I can do JoJo style barrages with unreachable punches, you can increase the speed of punches with Overclock, and Fa Jin makes it so you will actually get more powerful by storing up energy with each punch, basically making you the most broken boxer ever
Rifle, Heavy Payload, and Power

Sure, maybe it isn't flash, but it's a 3 kilometer range artillery cannon

i noticed and it will be fixed although it yields the same result

That's an obvious resistance to Paralysis Inducement, and he was also able to move after crashing into the U.A. Fortress electricity barrier, which indicates resistance to both electricity and paralysis inducement

It's a shame this is the only verse where most of its supporters are too lazy to make even simple CRTs and instead rely on the few people who do, which you can confirm by the fact that no one has bothered to even make a calc thread despite the existence of that FTL calc

Yeah, I think people got too focused on the statement of “for a moment, his muscles will be locked, allowing for counter attacks” to realize that he’s still way more resistant to electricity and paralysis than a normal person. He should def have those resistances, as he can get drop kicked by Deku into the electric wall and just shrugs it off. His muscles responding to the electricity and going a bit haywire is nowhere close to what would happen if he wasn’t resistant in the first place.

Also I’ll just make the thread straight up and get the ball rolling. Calc thread first or just Content Revision?

I got a massive problem with that supposed FTL calc, and with a lot of other things I've seen people mention here.

I'm just waiting for the threads because I hate long debates, and I think it's only fair that those in question properly prepare themselves.

Why not just mention them here so people can adjust any ideas they have BEFORE we go through the trouble of making a CRT? That’s what the general thread is for, no? You don’t need a CRT to voice disagreement with something someone says or plans in the general thread.

I'm on and off on this wiki lately due to personal reasons.

There are several things from several people I've noticed, but I'm not debating with a bunch of people at once.

Maybe if I saw them when they were first posted, but I'm pretty behind.

To be honest, I dislike debating in general nowadays. I voice my opinion and split more often than not. If I fail to change someone's mind, I failed; it's as simple as that.

You people still have the patience for that, but I lost it quite some time ago. So, unless something really sets me off, I'm not going to say a word until it's relevant.

I'm just really tired lately.

I mean, isn't that the point of calc threads, to figure out the best way to calculate the feat.

I think we generally should be highly critical about point blank dodge calcs that put the dodging character on a blitzing speed level compared to the projectile they dodged when its clear that they are still under threat of being tagged by said projectile.

I can dodge a ball quite easily. Over and over.

But that doesn't mean I can't get hit because you can always be caught offguard or make a mistake.

This should atleast mean that All Might is somewhat on the same level as the projectile.

Pro dodgeball players have around 25 m/s throwing speed on average. Say the ball maintains that speed, and you supposedly dodged it at the distance of 0.02 meters, and you moved your body at around 10 inches or 0.25 meters to evade the dodgeball, that'll put your speed at around Mach 0.9 or so.

Now, not only could you spend a prestigious career as a pro dodgeball player without ever getting tagged, but you can also be under suspicion of being a super soldier or a cryptid, and the only reason you're gonna get hit is under intentional or extenuating circumstances.

That's what we're talking about here. Dodging things at extremely close distances tend to yield us results that portray characters to be on a level far above the attack being dodged. Whether the story portrays that to be the case is one thing, but no matter what, we (by we I mean powerscalers in general, even in this site specifically) tend to be favor the highest possible interpretation, the implications be damned.

The issue doesn't stop there either, but that's the gist of what we have to deal with specifically with inflated speed results. Being around the same speed as projectiles can be lowkey problematic too. There were verses in the past that had to make do with separating reaction speed specifically because of this.

I agree with Rusty. I do not think that calc is accurate to what is happening in the scene, and it's not useable.
