Weiss main problem is she doesn’t have a great way of dealing with the AP + range + mobility advantage.
While her glyphs can let her do mid air jumps and bounce around an opponent, actually keeping up with someone that can release explosions nearly 3x your strength while rocketing themselves all over the place isn’t something she’s shown to do. This version of Weiss tends to just rely on summons and dust attacks as well, which Bakugo can pretty easily get out of the way of or just blast away with his explosions.
Well, Weiss has experience fighting characters with higher AP ratings, as seen when she fought alongside her team and Jaune against Cinder Falls and Neopolitan.
She doesn’t ever use her time glyph as well in this key,
Unfortunately, this very useful power of hers disappeared in the series.
Even if she gets good hits on him, Bakugo has an easier time of staying in the ring than Weiss does, especially since he can practically shrug off attacks off his own strength.
Yes, even people without powers in MHA are already 8-A level, although if he receives many attacks he will obviously wear himself down. What is Bakugou's resistance to cutting/penetrating attacks from similar tiers?
I think Bakugo pressured Weiss heavily, using big explosions and AP shots to disrupt her footing so she has a harder time doing her best stuff. Weiss will obviously adjust to this, spending her Aura in the process to summon and attack back, and she will likely be in control for a bit while Bakugo avoids her offense, but eventually he will build up enough sweat to unleash stronger blasts and knock her out. Even if she attempts to stay in the ring, Bakugo can just chase her down with Psuedo-Flight to keep her down.
Well, if Bakugou's sweat freezes, he'll have less firepower and fewer options, although come to think of it... Is Bakugou wearing that blue UA uniform he wore when he participated in the tournament in the canon, or is he in his hero costume?
Alternatively he can blast to Weiss and threaten to blow her face off point blank. Given how much movement and counter attacking is required against Bakugo, I don’t imagine her Aura is going to last forever, especially when any explosion he lands is 3x her durability. She can maybe get tricky with Gravity glyphs, but Bakugo can just as easily rocket back unless she specifically throws him in a way he can’t resist, which is difficult since he can destroy glyphs with explosions.
Unironically a match that Bakugo has to be really wary of, especially with gravity glyphs and how many ways Weiss has to knock him off balance, but he should be able to use his AP advantage, own ranged attacks and his growing AoE attacks to counter a large number of her abilities and shut down a lot of her set ups. Considering she is on a far worse timer than he is (her abilities completely turn off when Aura is depleted vs. Bakugo gets stronger the more he fights as sweat builds up) and his own battle intelligence letting him stay wary of any of her crazier tricks, I think Bakugo has a better chance of either forcing a surrender or knocking her out of bounds/incapacitating.
Well, in this situation Weiss is quite capable of fighting for two days straight without rest, although I don't know how quickly her aura reserves will deplete. It will take Bakugou a while to reduce her aura enough to leave her with no options.
Furthermore, she also has this strange skill upscaling where she is superior to Velvet, who can do this:
+ Able to perfectly mimic the exact moves that other people have learned and used in combat, as well as utilize multiple different fighting styles simultaneously, both armed and unarmed.
+ Able to copy fighting styles that utilize weapons, and she is able to wield the weapons that she copies just as effectively as their original user.
A very common argument in RWBY vs. matches, although Bakugou's fighting style is not strange to the RWBY universe.
Well, this is my counter-argument for now. I did my best, and now it's just a matter of praying that some RWBT defender who understands RWBY well will show up to lend a hand.
Bakugou is an unexpectedly competent character if you only look at his overall behavior, and with such a generous AP advantage...
