Honestly if every Sonic character didn't already share the same proportions and face design, I could buy it more. But as is, Silver and Shadow look as much like Sonic as Knuckles does to me.

Also random to mention, but one of IDW's writers expressed that Sega wants the comic to aim for shorter briefer arcs "since they're more approachable for new readers and easier to repackage". Shadow was also requested to be included in the recent issues since they were pitched in the year of Shadow. Corrective notes also were given pretty late about him, it seems.

Being given like, 2 Actual comic issues to introduce multiple new characters and a new location already is a sucky enough situation, but then to have a character basically forced into the comic (at least heavily nudged in) that the company is too fickle with you even writing, just makes that situation worse from what I imagine.
It somehow gives me the vibe of a parent making you take their favorite child on a trip with you (a trip that They already made short), but because they don't actually like the idea of you watching over their child, they decide to come for the trip as well.

In terms of pure strength;
Hyper ~> Cyber > Super > Excalibur > Darkspine > Werehog > Base
The position of Hyper and Cyber are arguable, mainly depending on if you take certain statements as valid/how high you scale the Super Emeralds above the Chaos Emeralds.
Excalibur and Darkspine are also arguable. I rate Excalibur over Darkspine because he practically stomped somebody who stomped his Base while Darkspine is just vaguely superior to Base.

If you interpret the Super Emeralds being literal Super Forms of the Chaos Emeralds then you could probably argue Hyper Sonic being stronger... Though many recent Sonic media regards his Super Form his ultimate transformation.

What's funny many of those forms have potential to be higher but it'll likely never be explored (at least in the main continuity).
*A Darkspine Sonic with all the World Rings
*Werehog Sonic interacting with other power ups/equipment (Wisps, elemental shields, Magic Hands, etc)
*A potential Sonic transformation using the Time Stones.

I think what he meant is that the relics of the Super Emeralds (the Super Dullmeralds we see referenced) reside in a different dimension that is the altar we see?

Personally speaking, I'd think Cyber is the superior form out of the benefits that it has, Underwater Breathing & AoE Light ain't allat. But, like, going purely off of the Super Emeralds, it should be stronger, but in terms of utility and abilities, Cyber, and even Darkspine clears tbh

At least Hyper is actually stronger BY LORE compared to the Chaos Emeralds and doesn't have some super-vague, fake aura-farming that Ultra Sonic does LMAO. A lion does not concern himself with the fraudulation of mid.

I’m not gonna lie I find it extremely funny how you just take any opportunity to bring up and hate on Ultra Sonic for no other reason than to do so, especially after it was pointed out months ago when you ranted about it that Ultra being stronger isn’t even a crazy conclusion because Ian literally implied that on Bumblekast.

Part of why I think Hyper is stronger is that it lacks drawbacks, unlike Cyber. Cyber can't push himself too hard and it likely wears him down a bit faster than Super would.

I think my ranking of Sonic's transformations would be this: Base -> Werehog -> Excalibur wielding Sonic -> Darkspine -> Cyber -> Super -> Hyper.
Darkspine's reality warping wins over Exalibur for me. I don't think Cyber is stronger enough than Super for its own downsides to win over Super personally. If Cyber could one-shot someone when Super couldn't then that could be useful, but I see Cyber as trading Super's trademark defensiveness for a slight power-boost, in trade for added vulnerabilities. I think it makes the form less reliable, especially when Hyper is in the conversation. That is a form stronger than Super, without introducing new vulnerabilities.

I don't trust Ian's take on powerscaling ever LMAO. After that bit about Sonic being weaker than Kid Goku, you bet your a-hole that I'm not taking him seriously cuz he's probably either trolling (likely) or isn't a real powerscaler so he just talks out his ass (also likely). I just ignore his takes regarding stuff like that. I'm not an Ian hater is the worse part. I actually like his stuff a lot of the time. I just can't take him seriously when he says stuff like that. Implications aren't nearly enough to give this BUM an facelift in power.
Also, I RELISH the moment to hate on Ultra Sonic, man. It's one of the most glazed forms in fiction despite it showing up, like, TWICE, and never showing up against when he could have actually needed it. It's the "All sizzle, no steak" of all Sonic forms. Even if it WERE true that it were somehow stronger, I'd still say it's weaker, bad, and way worse than Super out of sheer spite because that design ain't hitting, the concept is undercooked and feels mostly unexplained, and the fandom never shuts up about it.
I am glad you find it funny tho LOL. I mainly shit on Ultra Sonic cuz it's funny to me as well and when Sonic forms are talked about, people have been always quick to glaze that form (despite never really reading the comics themselves and just echoing sentiments from other people who also don't know what they're talking about).

Do remember that Super Sonic could only scratch Supreme End's health-bar; if you replay or watch a clip, you are actually doing practically no damage to it. We obviously can't use that on VSBW (as that falls into the slippery slope of Health Bar mechanics), but narratively it shows us that there DOES seem to be a large gap between Super and Cyber in the damage they can output.
This I can't really argue, Cyber is fairly volatile because of it not originally being suited for a non-Ancient.

Nah. Memes aside IDW Sonic has a 7-B+ feat in the Eggperial City arc (specifically, slamming it into the spider-like mech that the city becomes). You need Goku in his Post-Chōshinsui key to body him going strictly off Base IDW feats.

Pffft you see that was exactly why I thought Kid Goku capped at like Tier 8 and that it was Teen Goku who was Tier 5. But like most DB fans, I didn't watch most of OG DB so I can't say for certain.
The farthest back I go in terms of actual knowledge and not just bits would be the Saiyan Saga pendulum room encounter with the Saiyans of the past.

I would like a Super Sonic boss that's a bit more than just a 5-minute-encounter. Titans were just a start.
Best way to do that imo would be to create a villain that is able to use the Chaos Emeralds to the extent Sonic/Shadow can and have a proper Super vs Super fight. Bonus points if the villain is so warped that he genuinely believes the evil he does is good and as a result also uses the positive polarity of the Emeralds.

Since Titan fights were liked, they will likely do a successor of sorts to them.
Without copying them too much, I would have used smaller scale opponents, but have more of them, maybe sth corrupts Emeralds and creates 7 Super rivals or sth, maybe give them character? Thus its less Shadow of Colossus, more blatant DBZ fights lol

Let's say, hypothetically, if Sonic Shuffle's infinite speed feat were to be used. It would "invalidate" using the infinite speed feats that follows done by characters while in other transformations like Super and Prismatic because they could already perform such feats without these transformations. It would drop the minimum speed of a Super Form down to 128x the speed of it's user, no?
