"Characters will not give up of their own accord. That means a character that is uninterested or sees no chance of winning won't simply leave and characters wouldn't simply become friends with each other."

One thing to clarify. Is it allowed for character A to temporarily run away, then do something useful while Character B isn't around. Like for examples:

  • Some form of Preparation, which needs time and/or resources to use.
  • Some form of Healing, which requires time to use and/or can't be used when enemies are around.
  • Regeneration strong enough to heal serious wounds, yet slow enough that fully healing requires quite a lot of time.
  • Stealth Mastery variants and similar powers (e.g. Invisibility, Adaptation, Perception Manipulation, Sound Manipulation) which, in order for character to become undetectable again, require being unseen/unheard by enemy.
  • Replenishing supplies of finite consumables or energy (e.g. ammunition, armor integrity, stamina, fuel, battery charge, etc).
  • Making a trip home to take Optional Equipment, a vehicle, or otherwise getting something useful in a fight.
  • Range a lot longer than enemy's Range, allowing to attack enemy with impunity as long, as character is close enough to reach enemy yet far enough to be unreachable by enemy.
  • Being able to attack enemy from place or through something, which enemy can't reach or penetrate (e.g. attack through walls, attack from another dimension/under ground/from air/etc).
  • And other beneficial actions which, in order to be enacted, need time, items/objects found somewhere, or enemy not being around.

...And after Character A has done whatever he needed to, he goes back to Character B and resumes fight, gaining advantage in said fight from what he did in meantime/"pause".

So, such strategy is allowed or not? For how long a character is allowed to "pause" fight in his favor in such fashion (in other words, for how long he can run away without getting disqualified)? How many of such "pauses" character can take without getting disqualified, as long as pauses are in acceptable length (arbitrarily many?)?

If it's resources they can take with them or use from battlefield I don't see why not.

Sure, if they don't require resources or outside influence.

No, that would be outside influence, it would be one thing if they have a dimensional pocket that they can access.

Of course it's why range is important
  • And other beneficial actions which, in order to be enacted, need time, items/objects found somewhere, or enemy not being around.
It's ok for a intelligent Character to make use of things around to get an advantage but they shouldn't have access to their stuff back home unless specifically stated the fight is happening there.

I would say 1 week since more than that would be self BFR which has a 1 week condition.

Okay, so i would ask a staff member to move the page to Questions and Answers.

Also, what's required for retreated character to count as "resuming the fight" to prevent himself from disqualification? See the enemy, get close enough to enemy to attack him, or what?

Fighting. A fight hasn't ended if they're both still fighting.
