I’m pretty sure Meta Cooler is starting stronger, but Garou’s adaptation will get him higher and is much better than Meta Cooler’s (faster and doesn’t require he get damaged and repair it first). Assuming this is just one Meta Cooler, Garou should take this as long as the Meta Cooler doesn’t instantly go all out, which, he’s a member of Frieza’s family, he won’t.

We've seen how strong it made Meta-Cooler (Jump from somewhat around SSJ Goku to above him, but not to the point where they no-sell his attacks), it doesn't really compare to Garou's AD, the one that in basically all his fights, has turned a stomp around in his favor.

Not to mention that Cooler is definitely throwing just one at him initially, so Garou will start with the AP advantage against the swarm.

His absorption is not really a wincon. I don't think he ever used it defensively to block attacks in the movie, it's more the explanation for how he keeps growing and how he keeps the gete star running.
The direct absorption he did against Goku and Vegeta was through power cables, but honestly it's really bad here, given Garou has the LS to escape and they can be overloaded to catastrophic results.( granted i have no idea how much KI Garou would even have or if he could even absorb whatever the energy god gave him would be considered).

What's really the problem for Garou here is that Cooler is a master in instant transmission and not only spams the ever loving hell out of it, but he's also proficient in countering and predicting it. This means that even with portals and BFR Garou effectively will have an herculean task in his hands trying to shake off the billion coolers.

Right so, I feel like Garou’s AD just being stupidly good, and his radiation should allow him to plow the coolers. I think with the large ap advantage he’d gain, he’d take out the gete star eventually. Cooler isn’t likely to go all out at the start considering he’s a db villain, and like, triple his strength unless I misread the stats.

Plus he has quite good stamina feats when critically injured, and he should be doing the injuring in this match. I think that’s part of what let’s him fight the coolers long enough to figure he should attack the gete star.
