Staff Self Votes

Yes, but it always counts as just one singular vote.

Can regular members vote on their own CRT?
Yes but it's effectively useless. Regular members have 0 voting power outside of vs threads so all their votes don't mean much.

And if you posted a CRT it's pretty obvious you agree with it

That's the reason I asked this actually
This thread passed with only 2 staff votes with one of them being OP's own vote https://vsbattles.com/threads/naruto-eight-gates-multiplier-revision.183074/
Obviously if you made the thread you agree with what your saying, having your own vote count is silly and just seems like

Controversial verse CRTs usually require at least 3 staff votes - one admin vote and two other votes from other eligible staff (Thread mod, admin or bureaucrat).

Looking at the CRT the votes seem to be Damage, Qawsedf and Nierre.

That doesn't address the problem of passing a CRT from your own vote though

ANYONE is allowed to vote in their own thread and it always counts.

BUT

The vote of regular members has no significance officially.
I feel like I don't even need to point out how silly that is

It's fine for a versus thread due it to being a match up that you afterwards come with a proposal with who you think wins

With Content Revisions though you are coming forth with a proposal of your personal thoughts of what you think is factually right, agreeing with your own proposal is a prerequisite. Your vote shouldn't contribute
This is like voting for yourself in an election

Well, the rules are rules. If you wanna change them, make a Staff-Only Thread (Though I will warn you, there's very little hope of it getting passed).

The restriction we have in place for that is that a CRT can't be passed with a single staff vote if the sole staff vote is the OP's.

But their vote does count just the same as any other staff votes for threads that recieve mutliple votes.

Which makes sense; imagine if a staff member was restricted from voting on their own thread, all they'd have to do is have a different user post the thread for them.

Is it silly? Maybe, depends on who you ask.
Is it against the rules? No.

I mean the voting rights are given based on the assumption the staff members will be unbiased regardless of the thread and not abuse it. Also technically speaking any staff member could just send their CRT draft to regular member to post and approve that so banning self votes wouldn't stop any potential abuse.

Someone voting for themselves where there's only a couple voters does.
Sure, it has more weight to it, but I don't think there's any election where you're restricted from voting for yourself. So the comparison doesn't work how you want it to.

But if you want to make a Staff Thread about the rule, you can, but I don't think the rule itself is bad or unjustifiable. Damage in this case, still needed two additional mods to agree with him.
