The Incredibles Discussion Thread

Yeah but who said that it even always stronger than Mr. Incredible physically anyways though? I've never said anything like that.


I'm saying it obviously got improvements but on both sides we shouldn’t equate that to stat only improvements since that's what yall were arguing about
 
I still feel that at the very least, prime Mr. Incredible should still upscale from 7-C, given how Hypershock’s feat is explicitly done via his physicals, it’s consistent with Gamma Jack’s feat, and the fact that Bob (while far weaker than in his prime and explicitly holding back) was still able to destroy some of the weak points of a stronger Omnidroid than the ones the aforementioned two supers died against.

But yeah, High 6-A is a definitive no from me, idc if it’s character-induced stupidity or simply just an outlier, it’s not happening

I think the main thing is probably the Elasigirl prequel novel, as that has a lot of appearances of all the supers during the golden age, so it would probably be a great place to look at in regards to feats and scaling. It also seems that a good chunk of it has already been summarized on the Incredibles wiki, although chapter 6 onwards isn't mentioned, so if somebody here has the book, it might be nice to look through it for some notable stuff.

I've already read Gamma Jack's parts, and the only thing I could add was Social Influencing Hax. The rest was just him talking with other Supers about unimportant things. Something is better than nothing.

The fact Baron Von Ruthless' robot (same guy who had a Death Ray as mentioned by Frozone in the first film) drained the other supers' powers (except for Mr. I and Elastigirl as they momentarily left the seminar) absolutely didn't help with their "on-screen featless" reputation.

Man, each week of this month I see at least a new vid/short saying how Mr.Incredible only survived his fight with Omnidroid V8 cuz it's specifically built for Frozone and it's getting annoying. Even if leading him into the volcano was intentional, Bob ain't magma-proof either(well at least not in his old suit) so it wasn't a bad strategy against him. Like the following 2 Omnidroids are basically jacked-up versions of V8s(maybe with like 2 new features) while we see older models having more different body designs from each other.

So, i decided to come back to the thread and see if anything new was found, and i have a doubt about Hypershock's 7-C rating proposal

Sorry if i missed something or if i'm just being dumb, but why would the feat apply to his physical stats? It is implied by the above file that the earthquakes are generated through an ability rather than sheer strength

It quite literally says it's done via his FISTS

It can be an ability of his to cause seismic waves, as well as having it done through his physical body

I really think i'm being dumb but i simple can get the idea

The text doesn't mentions his strength directly generating the earthquakes, only mentioning his fists having the ability of generating them (As you pointed out on the bolded part above)

I'm just in doubt with the 7-C proposal due to this, but i'm not totally against it
 
I assume the other comics released post-Incredibles 2, which include the Secret Identities miniseries, the Slow Burn miniseries, and probably the "Date Night" story that was included in a Free Comic Book Day comic in 2019, would also be in the Main continuity.

Meanwhile, the Boom continuity should definitely include the Rise of the Underminer video game, which gets directly referenced in issue #13:

Also i would like to add that most of the verse (supers) should be on baseline Wall/Small building level physically considering that even ppl like everseer who has a pretty bad physical stat and still could do stuff like that


altho it doesn't have much inpact on the discussion i think it was worth pointing that out, but i guess it should imply that the scale used is based on superhuman standard
