by the way, Canto 8 explained mechanism about Shin and Mang with further information
Shin: used as Defensive (Zilu scenario when tanked Lei Heng 1 Mang with Shin)
Mang: used as Offensive (Demian scenario when slice kromer with 7 Mangs)

I find this thread to be a bit weird, how can EGO use the Light as an energy source when that's not what it's using at all? EGO is developed from the self, not the light, the light simply made the conditions to manifest EGO or distort more prevalent. EGO doesn't pull from the light as it's energy source, as it's self-sustaining.

Even then, light is not USED as an energy source by the masses and it's not something you can master, the library was an outlier because it was Angela's EGO empowered by the light itself, the light is more of a buff than anything, like what we see with Distorted argalia.

No offense, but I think you should reread the op cause that's clearly not the case. The Light is first and foremost the physical manifestation of the mind, and everything that can be done with it is shown to have the same requirements for it's use.

Also after the first and second shining of the Light it now lies within everyone in the City, though only a handful of people know how to wield it's power.

None of your scans prove that it is using the light as a means to create or sustain these forms as a source of energy. Just because the light is a manifestation the mind, does not mean that EGO, an ability derived from yourself requires the light to sustain it. That’s typically what an energy source does.

It was proven by Moses in the Distortion Detective that those who have E.G.O don't have any distortion(i.e. Light) in them due to it by physically manifested as their equipment. With that said, I'd say it very much is correlated.

Abnormalities are entities representing various concepts born from the human mind. they're created from the well.
and to harvest E.G.O you need to defeat them (to achieve enkephalin).

You've misunderstood me entirely. In Universal Energy Systems, the energy source (in this case the light) has to be used to buff their bodies and other abilities in some capacity, and for Non-Physical it's their abilities.

When characters use the EGO, or hell even distortion, they are not actively drawing upon the Light as a means to sustain or buff that form. The light just serves as an "awakener" essentially to help them either manifest EGO or Distort, neither of which are using the Light as a source of energy, as the power of which comes from their psychee / mind.

Hurts your argument more. If Light is meant to be the energy source, why would a thing that'd be using this UES not HAVE any in the first place, that's not how that works. The light isn't something people draw on for power at any moment, it's just an entity or thing from the Well the causes weird phenomena.

while Carmen mind is to create Abnormalities. The Light allows Carmen to create the abnormalities.
The Light is the source of all energy because it fundamentally rewrote reality

That's not my issue, the issue is that this is a Universal energy system. In a UES typically there is a source of energy that buffs people or changes their physical or otherwise capabilities. The Light, is not an energy source. Distortions, EGO, etc. do not draw upon the light as an active source of energy. EGO is what does that, and EGO is not powered by the light, nor are distortion's.

The Light, CAN superpower things, however, but this is not something that anyone can master or unlock as the light is a literal physical and metaphysical thing that is largely unexplored. For example, Library of Ruina resolves around use of the light to power the library, and it's inhabitants, but this is the extent we see it used in this way, with the most severe thing it can do being supercharging everyone at the end during Impurias Civitas.

You seem to be getting the wrong idea. I'm not saying that E.G.O. users don't have Light, what I'm saying is that they don't have it in their bodies due to it being in their E.G.O equipment.

No, I understood you, I'm saying that they have no light whatsoever, and the capacity of light being "within" the ego equipment is not literally using it as an energy source.
