Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

he says that Dodonpa simulated this place (cyberspace)
So, is Dodon pa's technology capable of creating a cyberspace identical to the one from Frontiers? Is he "simulating" all those stages from the old games? Those stages are not the original ones?

I think things got a little confusing now after this line

That seems to be the implication, yeah. Dodon Pa is SIMULATING the worlds they travel to, rather than them genuinely traveling to them. Which does mean that the Layered Dimensional Travel is gone. Unfortunate. Though, it's weird, because the gimmick is the Multiverse. It could be possible that Dodon Pa is lying to them and saying they're sims when they're real, otherwise the gimmick doesn't make sense.

I'm guessing we'll know more when the game is out. I wouldn't be shocked if Cyber Space is emulated, whereas the other areas aren't.

That's such a strange choice, all this because of a dialogue in the middle of a race. Everything else we've seen so far from the game seems to imply that they are indeed literally traveling to these stages through space and time. I'm starting to think that maybe Tails dialogue is wrong (maybe a writing error? Perhaps the intention was for Tails to imply that Dodon Pa chose this Cyberspace that Tails doesn't like as the Cross World) or just irrelevant.

Mfw that's bordering on being a Supergenius intelligence feat. For Dodon Pa of all people lol.

I think it's a reach to assume all the areas are simulated, especially when time and again we've been told they're crossing to other dimensions. So I think that this...

... is how they'll handle it.

Mfw they hyped it travelling through the multiverse and it's all just simulated lol. Would be the lamest shit ever

What if Dodonpa recreate all of creation is a cyber dimension with the sole purpose of racing?

People are already trying to use Tails quote as a justification for the supposed inconsistencies of some stages (Metal Harbor) and Cross Worlds (The Dark Gaia Phoenix in Dragon Road). As if all of this couldn't be explained as time travel, as it is indicated in almost every promotional description for SRCW.

In a way, even if all the stages were simulated (I don't think they are), that wouldn't change that they could be traveling across space and time. Cyberspace was a digital world, a virtual simulation, but that existed in a different space-time, it was literally an entire parallel dimension, just one built using digital data as the basis.

As far as we know, Dodon Pa could just have created a new Cyberspace that isn't the original, but still is another dimension.

Lol

As expected, the Japanese version's dialogue doesn't have the "simulate" line lmao

Tails: "電脳空間!? どうなってるの?"

Tails: "Cyberspace? What's going on?"

JPGods being Kino as per usual.
Dodon Pa making an entire simulation of an infinite multiverse would have gone crazy though
Yeah that would be kinda insane lmao

Now that I've looked into it, I now tend to believe that Tails's dialogue refers to this specific stage (Eternal Highway) of Cyberspace, and that Dodon Pa just somehow managed to activate Cyberspace and simulate/choose what stage of it will the characters be transported to by the Travel Ring.

For example, Dodon Pa now seems to have some control over Cyberspace to the point where he can choose between Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Eternal Highway, or Sky Sanctuary when he transports the racers through the Travel Ring.

So it's American fanfiction, as usual. Also that Sonic lore posting account is genuinely awful for its "lore". Never use it as a source, everyone.
Yeah, this current tweet of his is an example, he was so desperate for a better explanation than "time travel" for the "inconsistencies" in Cross Worlds that he went overboard with the "simulate" line.

I now don't see much of a problem with it if it is exclusive to Cyberspace and with the context I formulated in my last message (and also the fact that it is non-existent in the Japanese version), but wanting to use it to infer that all the tracks/Cross Worlds are just virtual simulations and none are real, that's too much.

YOOOO!

I played Pac-Man World 2 (as well as World 3) on my PS2 for literal years as a child. I was already getting the remaster for it, but now SONIC is in it too???? With a dedicated stage/boss?! AND a callback to the twitter birthday exchanges?

The CrossWorlds course involves driving through Pac-Village, going into Sue's Arcade, and then driving into the neon Pac-Man maze. I think that's cool.

Dude it is fun as hell. The Pac-Man skins for Generations is also very fun lol, looks like those gifted shoes paid off.

I'm happy that the four main Ghosts are also playable. That's surprising though, since we didn't previously know that any of the packs would have 5 characters. Alternatively though, if costumes/skins are in the game, then the Ghosts could be alts of each other then equaling 2 Racers in this pack.
