Heyo
So i just watched KPop Demon Hunters, its pretty good and very popular right now so i think it would be a fun new verse to develop while its still ripe.

Anyone want to discuss how we would scale the characters? Feats were pretty few and far between tbh, but theres probably something.

I was thinking about making this thread myself, but figured nobody would be interested besides me. So happy to be proven wrong!

Some things I noticed...
I think they're Wall level normally, but get stronger when empowered by souls. I don't know a good guesstimate for the Gwi-ma feat, but it might be higher into Tier 9 or maybe even low Tier 8

Yeah they're definitely 9-8 range.

Theres quite a few voice shockwave feats from Rumi if those are possible to calc? I cant really notice any good speed feats that can be scaled at least

The first is probably the most straightforward, assuming the hole is the size of the average Korean man (height 175cm, radius 87.5) and a thickness of 8 inches or 20.32 cm, we get about 488,753 cm^3, which based on the scene, looks like violent frag so multiplied with 69 J/cm^3 totals to about 0.0080602191683 tons of TNT (Small Buildine level), you can split hairs a bit so this could be a little more or a little less down to Wall level+

Hmm, the plane one feels difficult. I'm not sure it's shown in the video but it heavily depends on how the plane was damaged. If it was torn apart manually, it'd be LS, if it was a simple cut, then I think it wouldn't be too noteworthy, especially in context with the wall throw. Them surviving the fall from that height might be a tad more impressive though, about 98 kilojoules or Wall level.

Assuming Gwi-ma is just a fog/cloud covering the area, it would depend how large his influence was. I haven't seen the movie yet but we'd probably take that volume of Gwi-ma and then calculate its mass, and then calculate the velocity it took for him to leave and then get the KE from that (divided by 3 among the girls). I personally predict somewhere between 7-C to 6-C since cloud calcs tend to vary.

Will follow-up with a proper blog but these are my thoughts

Fire does have density, much lighter than air though so it might downgrade the calc. I don't think it is fire though, I'd be more willing to say smoke personally. At worst, we can just make the conservative estimate of dark clouds, and given the scene (I did pop out Netflix for this).

Currently looking at 9-A and 7-A

Ohhh, I think there was a misunderstanding. I was talking about Gwi-ma himself, not the entire shockwave.

I guess using the entire shockwave works though. In the movie, that's the Honmoon brightening, which also disperses darkness and Gwi-ma's influence. But I guess treating it as smoke or a dark cloud works

Very nice!

Oh right, Gwi Ma himself would probably be a good thing to calc actually. It's worth calculating in case the cloud clearing calc does not suffice or is rejected

Gwi Ma's the fire monster. The purple stuff is just the demon realm. I do sorta see it looks like they dispersed something in the distance but it can also just be how the sky looks.

Yeah completely misunderstood. I'll get too measuring Gwi-Ma's fire

Alright, updated the blog to include Gwi-Ma himself Empowered and it's about Building level for him, so divided by three it would be 9-A+ for the empowered girls but this is just a quick calc subject to some revisions or changes

I mean i deff think Tier 9-Low Tier 8 suits them the best.

No doubt this will become a proper franchise though so they'll deff get stronger eventually

I think the feats that need calced are;
The first two scale to their base selves, the third one scales to them when empowered by souls/the fans

Ideally we'd divide the result of that last one by 3
I'm pretty sure Gwi-Ma's dispersal also either made it from night to day, dispersed the clouds blocking the sun, or more likely, removed Gwi-Ma's power that was blocking out the sun.

There should probably be a higher tier for Gwi-Ma, since all the Demons are terrified of him even while he's starving and being capable of easily destroying them, and with the Honmoon gone, he was able to again, either block out the Sun or turn it to night. (Mostly likely block out the sun)

So it makes sense that Zoey, Mira and Rumi should all then get higher keys for when they're amped by the Honmoon (Rainbow) and the fans.

Would the Honmoon creation get anything?
Weapon Creation: In "How it's Done", HunterX all summon their weapons from the Honmoon (they touch it before manifesting it into their weapons)
BFR: We're shown it literally pushing Demons out of the physical world.

Power Nullification;
Teleportation: Demons aren't able to teleport between the Demon Realm and Earth with it around (Source: Subtext of the movie itself)
Dimensional Travel: Demons seemly can't or find it much harder to enter Earth with it active (Source: Subtext of the Movie itself again)
Astral Projection: Gwi-Ma is stated by Jinu to be starving, meaning that Souls can't be transported into the Demon realm.
Intangibility: Demons have been shown to be able to pass through solid objects but as shown in the scene with the original Demon Hunters, they can't pass through the Honmoon
Mind Manipulation: Gwi-Ma's mind control broke when Rumi, Zoey and Mira re-united, with Rumi breaking Zoey and Mira out of their own mind control.

I meant as a feat. Since the Honmoon covers the whole planet, is it calcable?

Idk if anyone thinks this but i doubt the honmoon cloud dispersal thing scales to their actual physical stats and AP compared to just being a release of their voices. together

It would only apply to them while they're amped since it was Gwi-Ma who was blocking out the Sun, and it wasn't until they became amped were they able to fight Gwi-Ma properly.

Hi, I think HunterX should be has SOS attack speed when they get amped, since it (Honmoon) stated to be made of souls and voices, so I think it should be scales to speed of sound since it made of voices (and souls)

Yooo this movie was amazinggg, just got done watching it

Edit : ah man I wish Jinu would get brought back in the end to get with Rumi, goodass ship
It works with his theme.

He sacrificed his family and his soul to get himself out of poverty, paralleling how artists and celebs often sacrifice ties with their own family to achieve stardom.

Jinu's redemption was in sacrificing himself for someone else, if he came back to life, I think it would undermine that sacrifice, since, if sacrificing means nothing, then what was Jinu punished for?

Is there anything to discuss about the creation of the second Honmoon? Besides it spanning a large area, that entire battle/concert did start at midnight going by what Jinu said, and considering that it was two songs long it can't have been even an hour, yet when they banished the demons with the second Honmoon it turned to daytime. It was them amped by the fans and Rumi was additionally amped by Jinu's soul, but I think most people forget that the concert took place at midnight, and dispersing the demons shouldn't have resulted in the light unless something else is at play.

I mean the intent and action is what matters at the end I don’t think those will be undone by bringing him back, he’s suffered for his actions and I think it’s fair after so many years to say he’s allowed to be happy too, plus the author seems to be a hardcore shipper of Jinumi anyway, I feel it won’t be far fetched to predict him being returned in the sequel
