Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

Fair but I genuienly think you'd find it more fulfilling to create visual art yourself for your ideas
I used to do my own art. Unfortunately I have a genetic condition that is incurable, untreatable, progressive, and degenerative. It has taken my ability to draw for myself as my hands and arms spasm, cramp, and generally experience a massive amount of pain. My drawing ability has decreased by such a margin that trying to create it for myself is no longer fulfilling, and reminds me instead of the functionality I once had, which is now gone, and will continue to worsen. The utilization of generative AI has helped me bring to life images in my mind that I found difficult to explain, and which I cannot afford to pay an artist for due to my income being through the government and not properly rising with the cost of living.

To be honest, I usually try not to engage in these discussions as I am far too used to another social media platform where people simply dogpile, but I can see there are reasonable people here. I feel guilt over using AI, understand the profit motives of corporations and am disappointed to see when companies use AI to advertise instead of paying a person... I feel that there was and still is potential for AI, but that the people who are out there who will abuse what they can are really out here, ruining it for those of us wanting to just use it for personal reasons, as opposed to avoiding paying people for work in corporate settings.

I am very sorry to hear that. I understand why in such an extreme situation you'd use ai and it would be pathetic of me to belittle you for that. My arguments where refering to people that do have the ability to draw normally but simply choose not to either through laziness or lack of motivation

I'm not upset or offended. I feel like my story is simply a good use case, an example of someone who is trying to use for their own accessibility, instead of refusing to hire marketers and the like. I just hope people can see that there are reasons to use it besides just profit. :) Maybe one day we can have nice things, haha.

I know this has nothing to do with the thread nor the discussion but I'm so sleep deprived and bedridden that I keep misreading your name as Queercripple. Thank you for your time, have a good week.
Funnily enough, it used to be QueerCripple! However, YouTube kept censoring commenters who would put my username, unless they put Queen instead of Queer. I changed it due to that.

This is gonna be a long message welp (Finepoint do make sure to read all of it this time and thank Ebihara for this lel 😂😑)
I'm not reading all that.
So about the warning tracker and other related stuff:
Where do I find the warning tracker though? (Also, do they expire after a set period of time? I've seen peeps get warned and seen the tracker being mentioned in RVR but not sure how it works compared to bans and mutes of set lengths)
The warning tracker is here.

It doesn't look like @Crabwhale actually added you to it. I'm unsure if that was intentional or an oversight.
Better to add me there since they said it was official (also so that way I don't in any way take advantage of any potentially undesired oversight cause we all know honesty/sincerity and transparency is necessary regarding these matters and considering past events I'm definitely not willing to follow in the path of recently banned members):
I second this, but would add an additional point.

I'm extending an official warning to @Mahek_The_Assassin_Silent_Killer. Discussing cruel, unusual and graphic punishments with absolutely no humor of any kind and for extended periods of time ain't something we need on here. So, cease with that, and don't go doing it again any time soon.
Also still need clarifications on if warnings expire:

Now back to what's been sent since then:
😂
I mean, I sort of agree, but it's not so much about the animals eventually dying, for me. It's before that, the unethical way we force them to live before they go to slaughter, often in filth that forces them to consume antibiotics, feeding into the issue of humans becoming more and more antibiotic resistant.
I can tell you from being in the field, we're aware. And it's one of our primary challenges to minimize those aspects.
I mentioned I was interested in ecology and environmentalism as a job sector (and cosmology and utopian studies and whatnot as a leisurely hobby to read on) in the deleted message, might as well resend the links about altruism and positive symbiosis in life:

Also there's this more technically relevant/modern version of the Golden Rule (which itself is present in practically all belief systems as an example of reciprocal ethics which proves that despite our differences we are still fundamentally similar) called the Platinum Rule:

Further proof on the fundamental similarities of various belief systems would be the common virtues and vices they commend and condemn:

But I digress.

NO THANKS I DON'T WANNA RISK 100% CERTAIN DEATH FROM PRIONS
Fun fact: Not a 100% risk!

I have many morbid fascinations, especially in the world of true crime, natural disasters, historical torture methods... And that happens to include many tales of cannibalism. Especially in times of widespread famine, throughout history we have consumed our fellows. There is a story I remember highly of the Fore people, a tribe from the eastern highlands of Papua New Guinea.
I've read about the Fore tribe too, and I know they have adapted to be slightly resistant to the endemic kuru, but I should have specified:
Once infected there is no cure and no treatment, and it's practically 100% fatal, and then there's other diseases like rabies and trypanosomiasis which are 90+% fatal as well but DO have some forms of treatment... and then there's radiation sickness which depends on the Gray whole body absorbed dosage (but if you know Hisashi Ouchi you know how horrible it can be)

And then there's these for more morbid info:

(Do note how, other than the total cumulative death toll of all ongoing armed conflicts being 1/8 to 1/4 of WW2's total geometric mean death toll, disease outbreaks (endemics, epidemics and pandemics) and famines are highest in both natural and anthropogenic disasters)

no I'm eating the brain too
Please deliver your eulogies and desired epitaphs on your tombs/graves and or ash urns, I wish you a good trip wherever one goes beyond death. /jk

There will always be someone doing things better than you, in any field no matter what. But that doesn't mean that the things you make and your progress aren't valuable
THIS. RIGHT HERE. YOU. ALL. MATTER. BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELVES.
(Except atrocity criminals, but we ain't going back down that conversation again.)

I in no way wish to be insensitive, so I humbly beg not to be negatively judged for asking, but may we ask (or are we allowed to ask) what the name of the condition is? (The language may be a bit overly superfluous but I genuinely sincerely wish not to offend you.)

From the description of it it seems very similar to ALS, MS or Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (the latter in terms of being incurable, untreatable, and progressive)...

You can live for THIRTY years.
You can roast your opponents to death with your friends. (Literally, bees overheat hornets to death by swarming them and using body heat.)

I don't think they expire, but we're not robots- so if it was a long time ago that will be taken into consideration.

Since you want to be added anyway, I will do so.

Not offended at all, in fact the medical world is another one of those special interests I have, so I had to hold back from giving you like a full breakdown of each condition, haha... but I actually have a few rare progressive neurological disorders. What luck, right? :ROFLMAO:

The primary diagnosis I received was KIF1A-related spastic paraplegia, but also discovered was Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and pontocerebellar hypoplasia.

KIF1A and CMT both affect the nerves and muscles, causing weakness, spasticity, and coordination issues. Pontocerebellar hypoplasia affects brain development, particularly areas that control movement and balance. Together, they’re degenerative and incurable—so yes, very similar in nature to ALS or MS in terms of progression and impact. Usually the progression of these is stocking-glove, referring to a pattern of nerve damage where symptoms like numbness or tingling start in the feet and then the hands (like where stockings and gloves would cover), but for some reason mine is glove-stocking, starting with the hands.

I also have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), so while my arms are very useless, my legs can struggle as well due to blood pooling. Basically my genetics decided I should be stuck with a lot of walking and laying, but not a lot of sitting or standing, a lot of dizziness, and poorly functioning arms. I still do what I can, I have a grip strength trainer near me and I stole a weight from @FinePoint so I can do some arm exercises when watching streams, but working my muscles unfortunately does not do anything to help my nerves, so my fine motor skills will keep slipping away even if I manage to somehow become muscular.

can't say anything in response to that.
through laziness or lack of motivation
That is 99% of me—I still haven't fixed my verse despite all the time I had, since I didn’t feel like reading at all, as I'm not the reading type of guy. Now, I'm working on cosmology but have lost my motivation due to laziness. When I reached 2A cosmology, I realized it isn't as fun as the 1A one, since there's no fancy description in it. It feels less cool and amazing since it's not as OP. I'm the 1A-and-above type of guy when it comes to power scaling.

99% of powerscalers in a nutshell (why powerscaling keeps being ass)
What I meant by that is there’s too much text to read when creating pages, rules, etc., so I got distracted by things that were more fun to read, like manga, manhwa, and light novel. When it comes to scaling, I perfectly rationalize what I say and know what I am saying, so I'm not the reading type of guy when it comes to stuff that isn't fun. Even school wasn’t able to make me interested, so I need something to be really fun, exciting, and filled with things I love to give me the motivation to read and beat my laziness.
It means they maximize slop.
thanks.

Jokes aside, if you're not a fan of long reading, then this site is probably a poor choice of hobbies.

Reading comprehention is for the weak anyway
To be fair, even if you do read every standard and rule on this site, you're liable to misunderstand or miss some of it anyway just due to the vast quantity.

Being called out on being wrong is a major way I cemented a lot of it early on, or even more recently, so it's not always a bad thing, so long as you don't have a big ego and are willing to accept criticism or admit when you make a mistake.

Lacking reading comprehension is a rite of passage for becoming a powerscaler. It is becoming out of fashion due to how common it is nowadays however.

Agreed insert sexual joke here to comedically show that I did not learn from my mistakes

Well, I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with sexual jokes, it's just not something we allow here due to the target audience.
Time and place and all that. I hope you understand that it was never a personal condemnation or judgement, just me trying to enforce our rules.
