Only way that makes sense is if he’s talking about how fast he can move and not reactions, and even then that’s cap considering Deku can travel 200km in seconds. Even if it took Deku 10 seconds to move 200km that would be Mach 58 and that’s assuming Faux 100% is genuinely Prime AM fast.

Well, it's possible that the statement for him travelling 200 km that quickly was hyperbolic, or that at this point he's just faster than Prime All Might.

The Ultra Ages book is now out. I currently have the raw and looking through it as I type.
The extra chapter has Eri visit U.A. to Give Aizawa a present. We see Izuku is currently the No.4 Pro Hero and Bakugo is No.5

In all honesty though, I don’t really think this matters, the characters already have several feats that surpass this, and it’s already commonly known that writers have no sense of scale. I mean just look at the Godzilla franchise speeds on this wiki vs official stats lmao

Tbh that feat heavily depends on a hyperbolic statement. Instant could be used comparatively to not using it. Either way deku seemed to believe using gear shift to traverse 200km would have taken up a significant amount of his 5 minute timer or else he would have used it.

Ignoring the fact all of this information is unconfirmed until we get the official translation. So yes, that includes anything I say as well.
I'm still trying to find that statement. Using MTL so this is going to take me awhile. Hopefully someone just gives the page number or post the raw of the statement.
Got some information about Deku's suit, apparently it is designed to mimic his extra Quirks in some ways.
Gearshift perception blitz those on par with Prime All Might. Assuming the Mach 10 thing is real. All Might would take slightly less than 1 minute to travel 200 km.
Nothing here suggest Gearshift would take a significant amount of the 5 minute timer.

He was going to use it and didn’t because Kudo said not to. To save his gear and not show up damaged in any way at all because they were going absolutely safe mode. Whether you claim “instant” is hyperbolic or not, do you think it would take him over a minute to clear that distance?
Kudo scolded him because, in that moment, he had two options: 100% and Gearshift. He already said Faux 100% would get him there instantly (ZERO reason that should be hyperbolic by the way, it’s about saving people and if he knows he could clear that distance instantly there’s no reason he would be lying to himself in his own head), but devoid of that option, he only has the two options that hurt him/drain his stamina/break his gear.
THAT is why he didn’t clear 200km faster. You and Damage claiming that it would not be instant is unsubstantiated headcanon that I would love to hear reasoning for why Deku would say it would be instant but it actually wouldn’t be.
Nagant’s bullets traveled across hundreds of km near instantly as well, we have the calc on that, are her bullets now Mach 10 as well?

Deku being hyperbolic about reaching people quickly to help them is especially funny when we have an exact scene where Deku calculates distance and knows how fast he can get to someone. He has distance, he knows his power, and therefore states how easy it would be to get there. Or is he being hyperbolic here too and it would actually take him 10 seconds per meter?

A character being hyperbolic in one scene does not mean being hyperbolic in all scenes.
And a statement of "less than a second to cover 6 or 7 meters" feels more exact to me than him "immediately" covering a distance that isn't specified precisely in the moment.
I'm not chomping at the bit to create any downgrades over this; too busy and tired of MHA, but I think it's amusing how some people are quick to jump to mindsets that come across as "Horikoshi must obviously have been referring to Travel Speed; it totally makes sense for All Might to fight at over half the speed of light." And "Writer's have no sense of scale. Ignore that the calcs we made that depend on feats written by the writer who has no sense of scale."

All For One apparently sent people to capture All Might when he went to America, but they were all defeated by him.

tbf running 7 meters in less than a second isn't really a demonstration of intimate knowledge of his speed.
A trained athlete can run that distance in a second or two, let alone Deku's superpowered ahh.
It's also comparing short burst speed to long distance travel which has more factors like stamina.

Not really. Prime All Might being Mach 10 means basically all of our speed calcs are incorrect.
Since even 5% Izuku is currently Mach 8+. With our slower characters being at Mach 2.58. It would be a verse wide downgrade of monumental proportions.
I'm just playing along with the joke of a downgrade, I'm not saying it's going to happen. Just in case anyone reading this gets the wrong idea again. The above is a joke.
It's all fun banter right now. Assuming anything comes from this book, we're not going to see anything for months, to maybe over a year.
I'm just glad Horikoshi didn't give any more stats/ranking. I was going to lose my mind if there was another book saying Dabi's power is B, while Endeavor is S+.

I mean, I'd rather a bum like Naoya and ppl on his level be capped at Mach 3 than Prime All Might capping people below him to Mach 10.
JJK has some hope for higher values for later characters depending on how its argued, but a Final Arc Yami and a Prime All Might being direct caps to their verses high and mid end speed meta is just tragic.
tho ig you can say there is hope since its just travel speed for now, unless there is panels of Prime Might, Deku prior to surpassing Prime Might, or even Old Might blitzing relevant ppl with Travel Speed.
And the translation might say something different so who knows, it could be "Prime All Might's speed could easily surpass Mach 10"
